The Silver War, also called the Haeseni-Haelun'orian war was a conflict between the forces of the primarily Human Kingdom of Hanseti-Ruska and the primarily Elven Silver State of Haelun'or. The war began after an ultimatum [1] issued by Hanseti-Ruska was outright ignored by Haelun'or, prompting the Highlander Kingdom to declare war. Before the Ultimatum was issued, several incidents helped to tense relations between the two realms such as the assault of a Haeseni Noble, the refusal to enter diplomacy, and the supposed murder of a member of the Haeseni Army. All this and more led to Haense issuing an Ultimatum, and later declaring War.
Skirmishes, Battles, and Sieges
No major battles took place during the Silver War, however there were several raids launched by the Kingdom of Haense into Haelun'orian territory. All of which had a severe effect on Haelun'orian Morale.
Timeline
- 36 S.A
- Due to an increase in diplomatic incidents between Haense and Haelun'or, and the refusal of Haelun'or to solve issues diplomatically, Haense delivers an Ultimatum to Haelun'or, which they are given a Saint's Week to accept.
- 37 S.A
- After Haelun'or outright ignores the Ultimatum sent by Haense, King Heinrik II declares war on the Silver State of Haelun'or. [2]
- Barely a Saint's Hour after the declaration of war, Haense scores a victory against the Silver State after successfully infiltrating and raiding the Haelun'orian capital.
- Haeseni forces initiate several incursions into Haelun'orian lands, scoring a handful of minor victories.
- 38 S.A
- No major skirmishes occur throughout the year, as the Kingdom of Haense becomes involved in the Sutican Civil War which temporarily takes their attention off of Haelun'or.
- 39 S.A
- The Sutican Civil War ends, and Haense refocuses its attention on Haelun'or.
- 49 S.A
- After many years of no major battles, and pressure from Savoy and Urguan, Haelun'or concedes defeat to Haense and grants significant concessions to Haense and its allies. In what becomes known as The Silver Peace, Haelun'or surrenders to Haense and cedes land to Urguan. [3]
