Being a focal point in the Heartlands, Vienne served as the capital city for both the Kingdom of Oren and the United Kingdom of Aaun. It was originally built under the reign of Frederick I before being conquered by the Barony of Acre during the Acre Rebellion. When the Harvest Confederation collapsed and the United Kingdom of Aaun took its place, Vienne became Aaun's capital city. It was dubbed New Vienne by Charles I and served as the seat of House Alstion until the Adrian Rebellion when Charles I forfeited his capital as part of a peace treaty with the Duchy of Adria.
