Born in FA 1573, in the once-capital of the Grand Kingdom of Urguan, Kal'Nikaer, only two years after his kin moved to the realm of Axios, Ulfric 'Windbreaker' Frostbeard was a typical dwedki at the time. He found merriment in drink and taverns, saw excitement in brawls and fights and worked alongside his kin in the mines. He sang with his friends [[Norli Starbreaker]] and [[Dhaen Grandaxe]] in the off-hours and snuck around the capital just for fun. Not much is known of Ulfric past this point however, as he disappeared soon after arriving to Arcas, reappearing nearly 50 or more years later following the Dwarves swift exit of the realm to Almaris. It was here, in Almaris, that his political life in Urguan catapulted.

Sometime after turning 150, Ulfric got his first position in Urguan as a Magistrate of the High Courts. It wouldn't be long after his appointment that he would find himself in the seat of the Lord Justiciar itself, following approval and recommendation from then-Grand King and Ulfric's childhood friend [[Norli Starbreaker]]. During his time as Lord Justiciar, he'd come to pass Inquisitor Acts and take hard stances against monsters found within the common folk of the Kingdom. He would sit as Lord Justiciar well past the reign of Norli, until the end of the reign of his friend Levian'Tol Grandaxe, where he would go to throw his name into the ring for the next election of Grand King, beating out his opponent Alaric Grimgold to officially become the 33rd Grand King of the Grand Kingdom of Urguan.

Ulfric's reign as Grand King lasted 27 years, one of the longest reigns for a King of Urguan in quite some time, and as such as filled with many ups and downs. His abdication would come towards the end of the [[War of the Wigs]], after the failure of the Grand Kingdom to defend the vassal lands of Sedan in Haverlock. It was here where Ulfric, his friend and High Prophet Norli, along with Bakir and Gror Ireheart hatched a plan to rejuvenate the war effort with a new King. After many a discussion with fellow Clan Leaders, a Grand Assembly was called, whereas Ulfric announced his abdication and Bakir unanimously became King. It was thanks to this that the Tripartite's renewed energy led them to victory in the battle otherwise known as the [[Folly of Philip III]].

Ulfric Frostbeard (Dwarven: Ulfric Azwytrumm) also known as Ulfric "The Uniter", (born Windbreaker) is a dwarven politician and the 33rd elected ruler of the Grand Kingdom of Urguan. Born in FA 1573.

Life

Born in FA 1573, in the once-capital of the Grand Kingdom of Urguan, Kal'Nikaer, only two years after his kin moved to the realm of Axios, Ulfric 'Windbreaker' Frostbeard was a typical dwedki at the time. He found merriment in drink and taverns, saw excitement in brawls and fights and worked alongside his kin in the mines. He sang with his friends Norli Starbreaker and Dhaen Grandaxe in the off-hours and snuck around the capital just for fun.

It wouldn't be long after his appointment that he would find himself in the seat of the Lord Justiciar itself, following approval and recommendation from then-Grand King and Ulfric's childhood friend Norli Starbreaker.

His abdication would come towards the end of the War of the Wigs, after the failure of the Grand Kingdom to defend the vassal lands of Sedan in Haverlock. It was thanks to this that the Tripartite's renewed energy led them to victory in the battle otherwise known as the Folly of Philip III.

Reign

  • SA 40 - The beginning of Ulfric's reign. His coronation came at a tumultuous time in Almaris, with the newly reformed Principality of Savoy, alongside the war between other nations, among other events transpiring at the time.
  • SA 46 - Six years later, Ulfric writes a letter to all of Urguan. In this letter, it tells of his noticing of a desire for change with how vassals worked, and a pledge that reform would come. [1] In this same year, word reaches the desk of the Grand King of a threat from the forces of the Archdrakaar Azdromoth, ensuring the doom of Amathea, home of the Principality of Aegrothond, otherwise known as the-then Crown of Elvenesse. [2].
  • SA 48 - Ulfric and the Grand Kingdom of Urguan enter into a tense relationship with the Ferrymen, over disputed ownership of the Ireheart Retirement Facility. This stand-off would be brief, with the Grand Kingdom moving forward with evicting and coming over ownership of the Factory once more. Ulfric would make two small amendments to the Articles of Urguan that same year, utilizing his power of Article II, Section I-5. [3].
  • SA 49 - Word reaches Ulfric of a fire having destroyed the newly constructed, second city of Ando Alur, located on then-disputed lands between the Grand Kingdom of Urguan and the Silver State of Haelun'or. This land would end up becoming corrupted, and unusable, even to this day. [4].
  • SA 50 - The Grand King pens a letter to the entirety of Urguan, declaring the militarization the Grand Kingdom for times to come, stressing disrespect and unpunished grudges as his main reasons for doing so. [5].
  • SA 51 - Ulfric and the Grand Kingdom sign a pact with the-then Count of Middelan, Gaspard van Aert, in preparation for war with the Holy Orenian Empire. [6].
  • SA 53 - Ulfric pens a letter to the Holy Orenian Empire, namely Philip II, Holy Orenian Emperor, stating grievances following reported attacks on two members of the Ireheart Clan in Orenian territory. Following repeated insults and refusal of acknowledgement, he gives an ultimatum, demanding the turnover of Duncan Vuiller, an apology, and a payment of 3000 minas to the Urguani Treasury, a fine for denial of previous attempts of diplomacy. [7].

Only days later, a response was received from the Orenian Emperor, denying all terms and declaring a state of war between the two nations. Ulfric and the Grand Kingdom were now officially at war with the Holy Orenian Empire.

Following the declaration of war and a few battles, Philip II, Holy Orenian Emperor mysteriously vanishes following the Aster Revolution. Seeing this as a perpetration of the honor war agreed upon by the Grand King and prior Orenian Emperor, Ulfric declares victory over Philip II and the 8th Holy Orenian Empire. [8] However, mere months following the vanishing of Philip II and the coronating of Philip III, Holy Orenian Emperor, the new Emperor pens an ultimatum of their own to Ulfric and the Grand Kingdom, demanding the lands to their South, a swear never to take on human vassals again, and a payment of 50,000 minas to the Orenian Treasury, to be taken in 3 days' time or else the Orenian Army would march through Urguani land. [9].

  • SA 54 - Following the 'Excoriation of the Urguanites', Ulfric and his Council would send word back to the new Emperor, vehemently denying all demands, accusations and otherwise, going as far to refute any ill statements made. The conflict between the The Grand Kingdom of Urguan and the Holy Orenian Empire was once again in motion, albeit unofficially, with Ulfric publishing once more a letter lamenting the time limit of 3 days, given by the Emperor himself, passing with no Orenian Army in sight of Urguani land.
