Torsten Eiriksson Rosik, also known as Torsten I or in Imperial circles as Torsten the Pretender (15th of the Deep Cold, 1655–Present) of the House of Rosik, is the first King of the Third Kingdom of Norland. He rose to power due to his major influence within Nordengrad, having levy a large majority of Nordengrads population, he at the time never had a large desire for power, so when came time for the moot he nominated his uncle be the new Earl instead of himself, but was eventually handed the title of Earl by Jorvik Eiriksson Rorik, thus allowing himself to reform and take full control of Nordengrad. Only after a mere few months of reigning as Earl, Torsten had already won many raids against Haense and the Imperials, he one day decided to restore the ancient title, King of Norland upon himself claiming the Herald's Blood. In the year 1689 FA he officially reformed the Kingdom of Norland. This aggravated the Imperials as Aurelius I, Emperor of Man laid claim to the title, ignorant to the fact he required Herald's Blood to maintain such a position.

Biography

Early life

During Torstens early years he was forced to evactuate the Rurik capital due to an incoming attack by the Northern Atlas Coalition, which would later be known as the Siege of Ruriksgrad, he would spend a majority of his youth years in hiding, training, and learning the arts of speech, diplomacy, and sword, he became quite prominent amoungst the remaining Norlandic folk for his diplomacy, which would assist him in his endeavors later on. After returning from a hunt with his cousin, he was informed that the Rurics were coming back into the power fold, having quickly rode out of his small encampment to meet with his cousin, Thoromir he quickly was made Hand like his father before him, and assisted in designing the city of Nordengrad. After the city was complete he returned to his camp and escorted his people to Nordengrad, where they were well fed, and given homes to rest their head. All though Thoromir and Torsten remained close, Torsten wanted to seperate himself from the Ruric name, eventually, alongside his uncle Jorvik Ruric, formed a cadet branch, naming it the Clan of Rosik, where Thoromir would was quite angered by the split, decided to hand them a clan hall to avoid any type of conflict bewteen the Clan of Ruric, and Rosik. After removing himself from the Ruric name, he married a young Fiscere girl by the name of Carina. A few years later, Nordengrad was in turmoil after the death of Thoromir, Torsten was of course mourning the loss of his beloved cousin, but continued to lead the Clan of Rosik through the moot, although being able to field a majority of Nordengrads population, he never implemented himself into the moot instead he nominated his Uncle Jorvik Rorik, who ended up winning the moot with a large majority over everyone else. Torsten would continue to grow the Rosiks even bigger day by day, until only after a few mere months of his uncles rule, was handed the Earldom of Nordengrad, by Jorvik. Torsten made no mistake and took up the mantle, and quickly constructed a temple where the old West Fort used to be located.

Reign

Torsten was coronated in the year 1689 by the high priest, Rae Arden. Only after a mere few days of being named a legitimate Earl, Torsten started to start trouble with the Kingdom of Haense, another vassal of the Empire of Man, having met them in two minor skirmishes, although not having that elite of a fighting force, he managed to come out victorious in the first engagement before heading towards Markev where he fought with Haense once more, being overall victorious in the battles against them, he was decided to flee due to the arrival of a large imperial army under the command of Augustus Horen, the Crown Prince of the Empire of Man, as he did not want to risk losing a large majority of his men, once returning to Nordengrad, he was met with a large raiding party, those of which were successfully beat back. These conflicts would spark rumors of possible Nordengradic rebellion throughout the Empire, and all of Atlas. Torsten would hold a council meeting, conversing about the current state of the realm, and weither it would be a good idea to split, of course a majority voted yes, but Torsten would still like to ensure a possible success in claiming their independance from the Empire, he called upon all those who have been wronged by the Empire, into a small meeting to decide weither they should work together and ensure the dismantle of the Empire of Man. With the conclusion of the meeting, a small group would believe it would be the end of everything they ever knew, many believed it was the spark and hope everyone needed. After returning back to Nordengrad from the meeting, only after a mere hour, he found a large Renatian raiding party at his gates, having a large rally of 5,000 fueled by a majority of the Crownlands, many Norlanders believe that it was to show the true might of the Empire. After an hour or two of shouting over the walls, the Imperial party left Nordengrad untouched. Later that day Torsten recived a letter from one of their many spies within the Imperial Capital, stating that the Empire was amassing a large military party, tasked with sacking and destroying the Norlanders once and for all, Torsten began to run daily trainings for the next few months, have the great armorsmiths of Nordengrad, craft beautiful plate armor for his men, knowing that this would be the Norlanders last stand at the Krag, or a change to pursue the men that have butchered and slaughtered his people back in Vjorhelm, and Ruriksgrad

Third Atlas Coalition War

After numerous raids, the Empire deemed it fit to launch a full scale invasion upon the Nordengradic folk, Torsten made not mistake in attempting to claim the King of Norland title, becoming a pretender. He quickly moved all citizens from Nordengrad, into a large War fort known as The Krag, where the woman and childern would be sent into hiding from the Nordengradic docks, as the Imperials and their allies grew closer, Torsten made plans to allow an escape route if there was no other choice, so a few of his men can escape and live on. A few months later the Imperials were at his doorstep, and thus commenced the Siege of Nordengrad, resulting in a demoralizing defeat for the Norlandic folk, the entirety of Norland would be destroyed yet again by the Horens, Torsten whereabout is unknown.
