She was a part of the Previously Royal House of Helvets, and was supposed to marry into the Royal House of Barbanov, until that was broken off. In 1791, she married Albert de Falstaff, Count of Leuven.

Early Life

Born in 1769 within the Helenian Court, Theodora was born to Lorena Antonia Helane and Richard Victor Helvets, thus being the granddaughter of both the (first and last) monarchs of Kaedrin, and the Emperor and Empress of Oren. Later, her paternal cousin (who she was very close too) Wilhelmina Beatrix, would marry Theodora’s maternal cousin, John Charles, Duke of Helena.

Theodora Angelica, aged 6

She was told stories of her Grandmother, Annabelle of Castor, and idolized her greatly, she read up on historical figures in Aeldin, mostly influential women such as Marguerite, Queen of Banardia, along with prominent women in the Empire, Lorena of Augustin (her grandmother), Adeline of Alstion, and Maya of Muldav, Queen-Consort of Haenseti-Ruska. She took a great liking to the Auvergne language, along with Waldenian and Qalashi. Additionally, the youth loved wearing the frilled and regal dresses of the time, and was noted to be very hellish amongst her peers; even attempting to rip fellow courtiers dresses and even unleashing her army of odd pets (frogs and rats) among the courtiers of the Varoche.

Life during the Sutican War

Theodora, just six once the war started, was in constant fear whenever she left Kaedrin, as it already didn’t have walls, (Other than the walls of Owynsburg, although it didn’t cover the entirety of Kaedrin). She was kidnapped with a friend, named Elke Lorenthus. She and Elke were tied by their hands and feet, thrown on a horse, and taken to their hideout. On the ride there, Theodora was plagued with the fear of losing her life, and wept nonstop. When they got there, all they were told to do was to ‘Write a letter as to why you hate Oren’, and then they could leave. Theodora was shocked, however, she was reluctant to write the letter, eventually giving in once Lorenthus told her they’d be free if she did so. Soon after her kidnapping, temporary palisades covered the borders of Kaedrin.

The war raged on for several more years, Theodora found comfort in her diary, composed of several pages of her adventures, thoughts, ideas, and especially the war. She often read whatever books she could find in the Rochefort Tower (Her sect of the family’s palace in the Varoche Palace). However, in the later months of 1778, the war cooled down, and the Queen-Mother of Haense, Viktoria Sofiya Ruthern, came to visit the Kaedreni court, with requests of a Betrothal between Theodora and Prince Aleskandr.

Short-Lived Betrothal

Theodora was Betrothed to Queen Viktoria’s son, Aleksandr in the 1770s. At this time, Theodora was shipped off to Haense, attempting to become a part of the Haenseni Court. She never became a part of the court, however. She was not used to, nor fond of the modest and covered fashion of Reza, and unfortunately for her, she found the cold to be unpleasant, preferring the moderate temperature of Helena & Kaedrin. Upon her betrothal; she found herself to be studying the Holy Scrolls and becoming deeply religious, fearing herself that her past sins would not grant her any children. She rarely spoke to her betrothed, only speaking to her father about him, and, when he threatened to break the betrothal, she reminded him that it only further strain relations between Haense and Kaedrin. She was constricted to the courts of the Novellen until her marriage. The Betrothal was broken off for unknown reasons in the 1780s.

Life under Empress Anne and Emperor Joseph II

In the year 1784, her grandfather, Emperor Peter III, died of lung cancer. Theodora mourned for a year, and the next year, Empress Anne Augusta and Emperor Joseph II were crowned in a grand ceremony. At the newly crowned Emperor and Empress’ first court, Theodora had met her mother for the first time she could remember. It’s said that the young, flaxen haired girl was overcome with emotions, and, later that same day she met Blanche Thèrése FitzPeter; the Bastard Daughter of her Grandfather and Madame Renèe Antoinette Rothesay. Theodora, in this time left to Aeldin for several years, spending time in various courts; especially that of the Emir’s of the Alnorid Sultanate, where she found the heat to be soothing. Theodora wrote in her diary that “...The Sultanate reminds me of my homeland of Kaedrin, not in fashion, culture or cuisine, but of temperature.” She left the continent of Aeldin in the year 1788, arriving back to Arcas in 1789. She quickly reconnected with her friends and courtiers, even beginning a courtship with one Alexander Leopold d’Emyth. In 1791, Theodora was wed to Albert Ashford de Falstaff, in a private ceremony.

Marriage

Theodora was wed to Albert Ashford de Falstaff, the Count of Leuven in 1791. Theodora was 22, and her bridegroom was 26. She wore a regal, white and silver gown, with a train of 30 yards long, and a wide, attention grabbing pannier. It was said that all-throughout the wedding, both the bride and the groom had a gloomy expression on their faces. It was unknown if Theodora was particularly happy about the marriage, but, she was surprised to be married, after two of her marriages fell through and didn't happen. The ceremony was attended by many distinguished Kaedreni peers, along with the Novellen-Crestfall branch attending, along with Theodora's uncle, the Duke of Cathalon, and Leopold FitzPeter, the Bastard son of Peter III.
