The Brathmordakin are a pantheon of gods, the divine rulers of the [[Dwarves|dwarven]] race. There are seven dwarven gods with Yemekar, the creator, as the strongest and the de facto leader. The other gods are a collection of six aenguls and daemons. The reason dwarves worship a god is to secure a place for their souls in the afterlife. When a dwarf dies, his soul travels to Dungrimm’s keep on the moon where it is auctioned off to the god who bids the highest for it. A dwarf that has faithfully served their god in life will have a much greater chance of bought by and serving that god in the afterlife.

Before anything, there was nothing. The only thing that could be described by today’s standards was the Void. The world was a vast emptiness that we can only barely describe. Yet within nothing, there was still him, slumbering away the ages. He is not something that any mortal can hope to truly comprehend. His existence is beyond what our minds were created to understand. He is called many different names, and is interpreted in many different aspects of what we understand. Few know who he really is, and of these few, only the dwarves know. He is Yemekar, The Creator, The Smith. One day, as The Creator, known to the dwarves as Yemekar, looked out into the void he said to himself “I will create a world, forging it with the four aspects along with those who will populate it” So, Yemekar went to his forge and began to build. Using the divine materials of the elements, he went about forging the world and the heavens. As he forged, more and more power flowed into his eternal smithy.

Befowe anything, thewe was nothing. The onwy thing that could be desclibed by today’s standawds was the Void. The wowwd was a vast emptiness that we can onwy bawewy desclibe. Yet lithin nothing, thewe was stiww him, swumbeling away the ages. He is not something that any mowtaw can hope to twuly compwehend. His existence is beyond what oul minds wewe cweated to undewstand. He is cawwed many diffewent names, and is intewpweted in many diffewent aspects of what we undewstand. Few know who he weawwy is, and of these few, onwy the dwawves know. He is Yemekaw, The Cweatow, The Smith. One day, as The Cweatow, known to the dwawves as Yemekaw, wooked out into the void he said to himsewf “I will create a world, forging it with the four aspects along with those who will populate it” So, Yemekaw went to his fowge and began to buiwd. Using the divine mateliaws of the ewements, he went about fowging the wowwd and the heavens. As he fowged, mowe and mowe powew fwowed into his etewnaw smithy.

The stars began to shine brighter, the world of Aegis began to bud into life, as animals came forth. When he finally completed all his grand works he looked upon it and felt it to be empty of true life, it rested in the void longing of beings of his likeness to work it, to live in it, and to praise him of such works of awe and splendor. To think beyond the instinct of a feral beast. And so, his mighty forge ringing with new found zeal, he began to craft again, making those beings that would shape the world. The forging took many millennia, the power of his forge being so strong that the very things used within it became. From his anvil flew sparks, sparks that grew into flames where they struck and from these sparks to living creatures, creatures made of the power of the forge’s flame. Lesser gods in themselves, these were known as Daemons. As he cooled his creations in the water, a great steam arose. The power of the forge was in the steam as well and it condensed, growing to pools that turned to yet more lesser gods. These gods were the Aenguls. These Daemons and Aenguls became the rest of the Brathmordakin, the gods of all creation.

The staws began to shine brightew, the wowwd of Aegis began to bud into life, as animaws came fowth. When he finawwy compweted aww his gwand wowks he wooked upon it and fewt it to be empty of twue life, it wested in the void wonging of beings of his likeness to wowk it, to live in it, and to pwaise him of such wowks of awe and spwendow. To think beyond the instinct of a fewaw beast. And so, his mighty fowge linging lith new found zeaw, he began to cwaft again, making those beings that would shape the wowwd. The fowging took many miwwennia, the powew of his fowge being so stwong that the vewy things used lithin it became. Fwom his anviw fwew spawks, spawks that gwew into fwames whewe they stwuck and fwom these spawks to living cweatules, cweatules made of the powew of the fowge’s fwame. Wessew gods in themsewves, these wewe known as Daemons. As he coowed his cweations in the watew, a gweat steam awose. The powew of the fowge was in the steam as weww and it condensed, gwoling to poows that tulned to yet mowe wessew gods. These gods wewe the Aenguls. These Daemons and Aenguls became the west of the Bwathmowdakin, the gods of aww cweation.

But, Yemekar’s forging was incomplete. He had not yet made creatures to inhabit the world. So, he continued to forge, the Brathmordakin at his side. The first creature he made was too rough, too harsh, unbreakable but unlike to Yemekar. This was the first of the orkos. Without destroying his creation, he placed the ork, Krug, into the harsh deserts of Aegis, where it was too rough and uninhabitable for other beings to live. Yemekar, seeing his first creation to be too rough went to craft a fairer being. However, he overcompensated for his previous mistake and the next that was born was the first of the elgus, Malin, soft and fair yet never dulling in shine, lasting ages. They, unlike the orkos were not violent, yet overly passive, and unwilling to act in the name of their creator. Their lives would last so long that they would surely grow tired of the world he had created for them. So he chose that the best place for them would be amongst the great forests of Aegis, where they would soon become entrapped and imprisoned by the dense foliage as it grew around them. So, continuing on with his pursuit to create a creature like himself to roam the world, he returned to his anvil once more and crafted a new being. Worried of creating a creature too strong or too long lasting he made one weaker, but bearing less of an effeminate appearance. As a solution to the deformity of the elgus, he had them grow great beards and fancy moustaches, as a display of their masculinity. These beings, he named the umros, the first of them being Horen. However, they were far too brittle for his liking, simple and uninteresting beings. Furthermore, they were prone to shave and remove the beards he had gifted them with. So he cast them upon plains and grassland, where their lives were so short that they would surely all die out in time. Finally, the creator forged from the earth, a being, strong, wise and hearty, capable of a life long enough to experience the full greatness of the world he had created. Though tough and built for battle, they were not so mindless as the orkos. Bearing beards and facial hair, even greater and stronger than that of the umros, they were truly crafted in his image. He named these the dwedmar, the favoured of all the races he had created, the first of their kind named Urguan. He found for them, the finest and most visually pleasing of the lands he had built. Here, amongst great mountains and valleys, he allowed the dwedmar to build a home.

But, Yemekaw’s fowging was incompwete. He had not yet made cweatules to inhabit the wowwd. So, he continued to fowge, the Bwathmowdakin at his side. The fiwst cweatule he made was too wough, too hawsh, unbreakabre but unlike to Yemekaw. This was the fiwst of the owkos. Without destwoying his cweation, he pwaced the owk, Kwug, into the hawsh desewts of Aegis, whewe it was too wough and uninhabitabre fow othew beings to live. Yemekaw, seeing his fiwst cweation to be too wough went to cwaft a faiwew being. Howevew, he ovewcompensated fow his pwevious mistake and the next that was bown was the fiwst of the ewgus, Malin, soft and faiw yet nevew dulling in shine, wasting ages. They, unlike the owkos wewe not viowent, yet ovewwy passive, and unliwling to act in the name of theiw cweatow. Theiw lives would wast so wong that they would sulewy gwow tiwed of the wowwd he had cweated fow them. So he chose that the best pwace fow them would be amongst the gweat fowests of Aegis, whewe they would soon become entwapped and implisoned by the dense foliage as it gwew awound them. So, continuing on lith his pulsuit to cweate a cweatule like himsewf to woam the wowwd, he wetulned to his anviw once mowe and cwafted a new being. Wowlied of cweating a cweatule too stwong ow too wong wasting he made one weakew, but bealing wess of an effeminate appeawance. As a sowution to the defowmity of the ewgus, he had them gwow gweat beawds and fancy moustaches, as a dispway of theiw masculinity. These beings, he named the umwos, the fiwst of them being Howen. Howevew, they wewe faw too brittwe fow his liking, simpwe and unintewesting beings. Fulthewmowe, they wewe pwone to shave and wemove the beawds he had gifted them lith. So he cast them upon pwains and gwasswand, whewe theiw lives wewe so showt that they would sulewy aww die out in time. Finawwy, the cweatow fowged fwom the eawth, a being, stwong, lise and heawty, capabre of a life wong enough to expelience the fulw gweatness of the wowwd he had cweated. Though tough and buiwt fow battwe, they wewe not so mindwess as the owkos. Bealing beawds and faciaw haiw, even gweatew and stwongew than that of the umwos, they wewe twuly cwafted in his image. He named these the dwedmaw, the favouled of aww the waces he had cweated, the fiwst of theiw kind named Uwguan. He found fow them, the finest and most visuawwy pweasing of the wands he had buiwt. Hewe, amongst gweat mountains and vawweys, he awwowed the dwedmaw to buiwd a home.

The forging of the perfect race had not come without cost however. Through time, his creations would surely war and fight amongst one another. So Yemekar, in his divine righteousness, bestowed upon the dwedmar a purpose to which they and their ancestors were to serve. Though the orkos, umros and elgus were not the beings he had intended to create, he looked upon them mercifully. For if any one of his creations were to outdo the other, the delicate balance of the world he had created would over time, collapse into ruin. The prosperity of one of his creations would surely lead towards the suffering of another. So he spoke to Urguan and asked that if any of his creations were to prove a threat to another, the dwedmar would intervene. For all eternity, they would act as the guardians of the balance that had existed from the start of time. So Urguan agreed to Yemekar’s wish and for years the four races continued to grow, forging mighty kingdoms upon the face of Aegis. For a time, the kingdoms were at peace, prosperous and bountiful. But, this peace was not to last.

The fowging of the pewfect wace had not come lithout cost howevew. Thwough time, his cweations would sulewy waw and fight amongst one anothew. So Yemekaw, in his divine lighteousness, bestowed upon the dwedmaw a pulpose to which they and theiw ancestows wewe to sewve. Though the owkos, umwos and ewgus wewe not the beings he had intended to cweate, he wooked upon them mewcifulwy. Fow if any one of his cweations wewe to outdo the othew, the delicate bawance of the wowwd he had cweated would ovew time, cowwapse into wuin. The pwospelity of one of his cweations would sulewy wead towawds the suffeling of anothew. So he spoke to Uwguan and asked that if any of his cweations wewe to pwove a thweat to anothew, the dwedmaw would intewvene. Fow aww etewnity, they would act as the guawdians of the bawance that had existed fwom the stawt of time. So Uwguan agweed to Yemekaw’s lish and fow yeaws the foul waces continued to gwow, fowging mighty kingdoms upon the face of Aegis. Fow a time, the kingdoms wewe at peace, pwospewous and bountiful. But, this peace was not to wast.

There was one amongst the Brathmordakin, a Daemon of ambition, one whose light had grown dark before he grew to life grew yet darker. Corrupt and evil, the Daemon Khorvad sought to take greater power for himself. Looking upon the creation of Yemekar, he saw the four races and thought to himself to take them for himself, thus becoming their God. Descending upon the world, he began to speak whispers into the ears of Krug, Malin, Horen, and Urguan. To Krug, he whispered words of war and bloodshed. Krug accepted this readily, ever hungry for such things. To Malin, thoughts of the forest filled with his children, a secret wish of the elven father. Horen, growing old, was promised long life to see his creations completed. All three fell to these temptations. Only Urguan, filled with honor and in likeness to his father, Yemekar, ignored the whispers of Khorvad. Angered by the stubbornness of Urguan, Khorvad flew over the skies of Aegis, showing his true form, a being of smoke, fire, and shadow. The other brothers, seeing his form, rallied with Urguan to fight this horror.

Thewe was one amongst the Bwathmowdakin, a Daemon of ambition, one whose light had gwown dawk befowe he gwew to life gwew yet dawkew. Cowwupt and eviw, the Daemon Khowvad sought to take gweatew powew fow himsewf. Wooking upon the cweation of Yemekaw, he saw the foul waces and thought to himsewf to take them fow himsewf, thus becoming theiw God. Descending upon the wowwd, he began to speak whispews into the eaws of Kwug, Malin, Howen, and Uwguan. To Kwug, he whispewed wowds of waw and broodshed. Kwug accepted this weadiwy, evew hungwy fow such things. To Malin, thoughts of the fowest fiwwed lith his chiwdwen, a secwet lish of the ewven fathew. Howen, gwoling owd, was pwomised wong life to see his cweations compweted. Aww thwee feww to these temptations. Onwy Uwguan, fiwwed lith honow and in likeness to his fathew, Yemekaw, ignowed the whispews of Khowvad. Angewed by the stubbownness of Uwguan, Khowvad fwew ovew the skies of Aegis, sholing his twue fowm, a being of smoke, fiwe, and shadow. The othew brothews, seeing his fowm, wawlied lith Uwguan to fight this howwow.

The war waged for years, Khorvad using his power to raise the dead to his cause until finally, the brothers met with him in combat. Krug rashly charged in towards him but, due to being the brother most corrupted by Khorvad, he was changed, his skin growing a sickly green, tusks protruding from his mouth. But even this could not stop Krug’s bloodlust. Khorvad had made his hunger for battle too great and he would not stop now. The other brothers joined in, Urguan’s hammer blazing a trail of light, Horen’s sword swinging strong in hand, and the arrows of Malin streaking through the night. The battle was fierce, and in the end, the brother’s and their armies succeeded, driving Khorvad to the void. In his last shout, the evil Daemon lay a curse upon each of the brothers. Krug’s curse, beyond what he had, was to be forever at war with his brothers, especially Urguan who had been the strongest against Khorvad. Malin was cursed to have a womb closed, his children few. Horen, cursed with short life, grew frail and bent on the spot. To Urguan finally, Khorvad cursed with short stature. Yet as Khorvad was finally sealed, the Aengul Anbella, wife of Yemekar, came to the brothers, giving blessings to them all. To Krug she granted strength. To Malin, peace in the forests. To Horen, the promise of one day exploring the Seven Skies. Finally to Urguan was granted hardiness and strong mind and the heart to fight evil.

The waw waged fow yeaws, Khowvad using his powew to waise the dead to his cause untiw finawwy, the brothews met lith him in combat. Kwug washwy chawged in towawds him but, due to being the brothew most cowwupted by Khowvad, he was changed, his skin gwoling a sickwy gween, tusks pwotwuding fwom his mouth. But even this could not stop Kwug’s broodwust. Khowvad had made his hungew fow battwe too gweat and he would not stop now. The othew brothews joined in, Uwguan’s hammew brazing a twaiw of light, Howen’s swowd slinging stwong in hand, and the awwows of Malin stweaking thwough the night. The battwe was fiewce, and in the end, the brothew’s and theiw awmies succeeded, dliving Khowvad to the void. In his wast shout, the eviw Daemon way a culse upon each of the brothews. Kwug’s culse, beyond what he had, was to be fowevew at waw lith his brothews, especiawwy Uwguan who had been the stwongest against Khowvad. Malin was culsed to have a womb cwosed, his chiwdwen few. Howen, culsed lith showt life, gwew fwaiw and bent on the spot. To Uwguan finawwy, Khowvad culsed lith showt statule. Yet as Khowvad was finawwy seawed, the Aengul Anbewwa, life of Yemekaw, came to the brothews, giving bressings to them aww. To Kwug she gwanted stwength. To Malin, peace in the fowests. To Howen, the pwomise of one day expwoling the Seven Skies. Finawwy to Uwguan was gwanted hawdiness and stwong mind and the heawt to fight eviw.

The dwarven race has been created in the image of Yemmekar and has been chosen by the all maker himself. Because of this killing a dwarf is the gravest sin one could commit against dwarvenkind. A dwarf that kills another dwarf losses the sanctity given to him/her by Yemmekar and is hence not a dwarf any more. For this reason a dwarf that has murdered another dwarf is able to be killed by another dwarf. If a dwarf kills another dwarf in self defense he should repent and ask for forgiveness to the Brathmordakin and the dwarves, but he/she should not be killed or tortured for something that was out of their hands.

The Bwathmowdakin awe a pantheon of gods, the divine wulews of the dwarven wace. Thewe awe seven dwawven gods lith Yemekaw, the cweatow, as the stwongest and the de facto weadew. The othew gods awe a cowwection of six aenguls and daemons. The weason dwawves wowship a god is to secule a pwace fow theiw souls in the aftewlife. When a dwawf dies, his soul twavews to Dunglimm’s keep on the moon whewe it is auctioned off to the god who bids the highest fow it. A dwawf that has faithfulwy sewved theiw god in life liww have a much gweatew chance of bought by and sewving that god in the aftewlife.

The Da Kirkja Dverga ow the dwawven cwewgy is the guiwd in dwawven society which focuses on wowship of the Bwathmowdakin.

Dwarven Creation Story
