Terriko Village was one of the first settlements created during the times of Aegis. It was located right next to the Cloud Temple of Aegis, and often served as a first stop for newcomers to the world.

History

Terriko Village was founded by Karnin Kofri, a born Dwarven leader. He molded the town into a small cozy village with trees that shaded the town and its citizens. For many, Terriko served as a pitstop before heading on to greater things. It was on the way to the racial capitals of the Orcs, Dwarves, and Humans, so many of those races would stop by for supplies or food before making their way to the nation. Because of this, Terriko had a tendency of being full of nomads; people that would come in and stay for a while, only to then leave to follow some other calling that wasn't so close to the Cloud Temple.

Trade

A few tradesmen and women set up their stalls outside Terriko's borders. The only recorded shopkeeper was Ulf Taga, who went by the name Frenchie. He was a Dwarf, like Karnin, and owned a tradestall at the center of the village. His constant activity and trades between the visitors and settlers of Terriko proved to make Frenchie a veteran within the village.

Guard Rotations

Due to the constant flow of visitors, Terriko Village often had no trouble defending itself from petty threats like monsters or bandit attacks. Newly spawned adventurers and heroes from the Cloud Temple always stopped by to trade with the village, and this often meant defending it somewhat if there was ever a threat. Known guards of Terriko Village are Brunhyldir Sarafand, an Orc, and another known only as Tempir.

Destruction and Replacement

The town was almost always active and popping with adventurers, but an unknown and mysterious black magic is said to have caused the ultimate destruction and decay of Terriko Village. Not much is remembered about how its fate came about, but Terriko's legacy was restored by the construction of New Terriko years later (in a different location).

Story Excerpt

"Mayor Karnin Kofri molded the town into a small cozy village with trees that shaded the town and its citizens. Many newcomers arrived from the Cloud Temple of Aegis, due to the relatively short distance. Soon the town grew very quickly. Everything ran very smoothly, and the large number of guards kept the bandits away. Sadly, the guards could not prevent black magic that seemed to have destroyed anything around the Cloud Temple. The townsfolk were desperate for a leader. Mayor Kofri rose up! He commanded men to rebuild the walls, 'Stronger and thicker!' he hollered. He commanded men to rebuild the homes, 'Neater, and sturdier!' He shouted. He commanded the women to replant the trees, 'Taller, and greener!' He yelled. Soon the town was better than ever! But alas, black magic has a tendency to return. The second time it struck the wreckage was not salvageable, and Mayor Kofri was nowhere to be seen. So Tempir, a town guard took in charge, and he lead the townspeople to a safer location. After many days of journey several people were dead, and many either wounded of starving. When all seemed lost a mysterious wizard appeared. He said that he would shield the new town from black magic. New Terriko was created."
