Sir Ragnar “The Bear” Sigvardson I (SA 15- SA 82) was a Norlandic merchant, advisor, Lord of Bjornfjall (SA 74-SA 82) and Marshal of The Royal Norlandic Ashguard (SA 74- SA 80).

History

Early Life

He was born on a sunny day in the year 15 of the Second Age, in Varhelm. His father was a Norlandic fighter, his name was Sigmundson as far as records go. His mother was a Heartlander, we’re going to refer to her as Tanisia. Her exact place of birth is unknown, though. Both of them traveled from Arcas to Almaris. His childhood was fairly good. His father was in the army for a long time, before Ragnar was even born. Not long after he was born, Sigmundson died in a large battle, which deeply traumatized little Ragnar. He was very silent for a long while, he lost contact with his friends. A couple of them, though, stayed with him even if he couldn’t continue on without Sigmundson at his side. His mother and the remaining friends motivated him to go on with his life. So, he did. He promised that one day, he would avenge his father. Tunisia helped little Ragnar to read and write. This later on helped with his merchantry skills by talking to people in their native language. He was interested in all of history and languages. His friends helped him acquire fighting skills and by the age of twenty he moved out and joined the army.

Northguard and Beginning of Ashguard Years

By the time Ragnar was 25, after a lot of training and years of hard work, he was recruited in the then named Northguard. Mostly, he was on gate duty. After one or two years the Northguard was reformed into the Ashguard. He made some friends, closest being Nykolai and Scoria Memoras. Ragnar served the Ashguard well, though not passing the rank of Initiate for a long time, as after sometime, he left to Eysium, though still serving the Ashguard.

Elysium Years

Ragnar lived in Eysium for a while, as he started selling his stock. At that time, Ragnar only sold diverse kinds of fish. After some time spent there, he started selling different herbs which brought him some good earned money, alongside the fish. He rented a house in the Underground of Elysium with one of his close childhood friends, Anderys. A while later, sales dropped for Ragnar and had to give up his Elysium house and stall. Anderys soon moved to another area of Almaris, which is unknown.

Clan Sigvardson

When Ragnar was still in Elysium, he founded the Norlandic Clan Sigvardson. He looked for family members and he found Lucius Valider, Ludvig Sigvardson, Arvid Sigvardson, Jakul Sigvardson and Dahlia Kallabraxos Sigvardson. Later on, the were granted Bjronfjall and they made their Lordship there.

Battle and Advancement in the Ashguard

After leaving Elysium, The Kingdom of Norland joined the Tripartite Alliance. Ragnar soon saw battle in the Siege of Haverlock, on the 7th of The Grand Harvest, SA 64. This led to a fatal injury of Ragnar. After, he was advanced to the rank of Footman, by Ragnvald Eiriksson Ruric, the then Ashguard Marshal. Soon, Asmund Camian joined the Ashguard, and the two started getting along. Asmund was made Overseer and Ragnar, after fighting a bandit, was advanced by Ragnvald to the rank of Man-At-Arms. In SA 70, Ragnvald became King of Norland, and Asmund advanced to Marshal of The Royal Norlandic Ashguard. After some more hard work, Ragnar was advanced, yet again, to the rank of Warden. Now, he had more in his vision, as he received a Vassal Fief upon achieving this position. He was granted The Lordship of Bjornfjall, which he made alongside Clan Sigvardson, his clan. The Lordship officially opened to the people on the 4th of Sun’s Smile, SA 74, where was a feast. Then, he was made Overseer. Around that year, Asmund Camian retired from his position, so Ragnar was made Marshal. From SA 74 to SA 80, Ragnar served as Marshal as well as he could, even though he never liked to be in a leading position. In SA 80, Ciaran Vildr was made Marshal.

Last Year of Life

In his last years of life, Ragnar worked on acquiring more citizens to Bjornfjall. He hosted multiple tavern nights and feasts. People liked it there, always complimenting what Ragnar made. Soon, Ragnvald’s life ended, and Odin Freysson Ruric became King. Not long after that, Ragnar was attacked by an unknown hooded aggressor, which Ragnar killed, though he paid the price by being struck by the unknown aggressor as well, which fatally wounded him and not long after, killed him. He was found dead in the winter snow by Norlandic soldiers and was lit in a funeral pyre.
