Edric Valyn, also known as Edric Mösu (Birth Name), Edric the Dragonknight, Edric Stormborn because he was born during a storm, was the first and only child of Varamyr Mösu, a Knight of Redclyf. He was born in a small, unnamed village, and his father was a Knight-Errant and a mercenary, and his mother was a common woman. He usually wields a two-handed warhammer and wears heavy, black plate with antlers on his helmet.

Appearance and Character

The Highlander, like his father, stands at a tall stature, at 6'2 feet. He has broad shoulders and a normal neck. He has flowing black hair and a clean shaven face. He has a dark purple eye, with an eye replaced by theurgy on the left side of his face, he also bears scars on that side.

He commonly wears black plate with a crimson cloak. He wears a winged helmet to battle, which has a lion on it. He wields a common warhammer made out of ferrum, which has served him for two years.

Childhood

Edric was born during a storm in the year 58 S.A, in a small, unnamed village that is now ruins. He was born the first and only son of Varamyr Mösu and Astrid Mösu. Growing up, he did not see his father much, and a retired knight, in his fifties, which lived in the village, taught Edric how to fight and read, making him literate unlike most of the villagers. When his father was there, Varamyr often brought gifts to Edric. One of his first gifts was a child-sized warhammer which he would grow to love, and asked the old knight to train him to use an actual one.

He had a quiet life, far from the politics of Norland. He had been to Alisgard when he was fourteen, but it was just to buy supplies for the village. He also squired for the old knight when he was twelve, and served him faithfully until 75 S.A, when he was knighted by the old knight for saving his life. A month later he fell in love with a girl who's parents were from Varhelm, but moved to the village following its destruction. Though the love would not last, as she was attacked by bandits on her way back from the capital. Another tragedy happened that year, the old knight had died at the age of seventy, where he caught pneumonia during the winter.

When he reached adulthood, he went on a hunt as celebration, with his father and mother. The hunt would last three days, but Edric eventually caught and killed the stag, bringing it back to the village for a feast. He would remember the hunt well, and would even write it down in his journal.

"It was spring, the forests were ripe with game, and for my eighteenth nameday, which celebrated me turning into an adult, we went on a hunt. It was only my father and mother and I, and we tracked the stag for two days, catching it on the third day. It was a majestic beast, whose antlers I would take off of it and keep for later, as a reminder of the hunt. I was never a good shot, but my father was, and he shot it down easily. When we killed it, we finally went home, but I had fun spending time with my father, though he had to leave a day after the feast."

Early Adulthood

Edric would then hunt a beast which began preying on the village's sheep, he tracked it back to its den, a cave in the base of a mountain. He would kill the beast and it’s mate, but would spare its offspring. After the hunt, he would take a black dragon on a crimson field as his Coat of Arms, and would set off into the world to find his kin in Fort Myrine.

Ser Edric landed in the south north of Fort Myrine, near Caer Raewyn. He would then stop by the village, and would get a letter from his father, Varamyr, that he was in Myrine. Though the letter had bad news, as it also told him that his father had killed himself, but his father’s wish was that he would go to the city and be loyal to his kin, and he would. When he arrived at Myrine, he was greeted by his cousin, Friedrich of Redclyf, the duke of Redclyf at that time. He would also meet Sir Ragnarr Mösu, his uncle. He would develop a brotherly bond with Friedrich, one that was closer to a brotherly bond than a cousinly one. He would later become the Aesir of Peace, as Lord Uhtred Mösu, the previous one, went missing in action during the battle of Karamir Mountain.

He would then join the Red Banner, quickly rising to become a Hersir of the Red Banner. After he became a Hersir, he founded the Order of the Lion. After he founded the Order, people joined it in a steady flow, and he even took up a squire by the name of Toorvuld.
