History

Erected at around 1550 under supervision of Rex Kharak'Raguk to make the orcs thrive again. No big mentionable events have taken place that made the city so, or made the orcs leave the old one. It was just a given that it was time for a new city, to centralise the orcs. Instead of the previous city, which was mostly a tent and cave dominated camp, the choice was made to create a grand citadel, to the young Rex's desire.

Construction

The city was constructed by the main Yazgurten of that time: Muthraka and thus was called: San'Thraka. The design much resembling that of a highelven citadel but more opened and mainly constructed out of sandstone, for that was the resource at hand. From a defensive point of view multiple towers contain artillery pieces to fend off any sieges.

Geography

The Citadel is located to the east of the previous city, close to the seas in between the Uzg and the northern continent. The area being nothing but desert land. Near the city are few hills whom have been dug out to house the Fud Clan, which is comprised of Ologs. Small patches of fertile land were created to serve as farmland.

Notable Figures

Kharak'Raguk - Rex during the creation of San'Thraka

Glumpuz'Gorkil - Dominus during the creation of San'Thraka

Shagarath'Yar - Dominus after Glumpuz disappeared

Malog'Yar - Goj of the Uzg

Government

The city is ruled by the Rex and the Rex his council, comprised of the Dominus and few Targoths. The Rex holds the superior command of the War Uzg and acts as their leader. This orc is the strongest of all and mostly adored by his following. The Dominus is the second in command and tasked with the Mayoral duties as well as diplomacy with other nations. The targoths are the military leaders and are chosen for their knowledge and experience on the fields of battle.

Society

The inhabitants of the city are of mixed bloodlines. Instead of the traditional districts for clans, the city now houses all clans of the War Uzg. Several districts were made for goblins, shamans and ologs(Whom are housed in a nearby cave).

Economy

As it is known, the orcs do not use the Mina as their currency and resort to a more primitive way of trading in their culture. Also is mentionable that due to their tribal nature, the strongest gets all. Take for example a nice looking house. The owner can, at all times, be challenged to a fight in which he will have to defend his ownership over the house in question.

Laws

The standard laws for the Uzg apply. Emphasis put on the fact that all orcs behave in an honorable fashion, and thus are not made whitewash.

Culture

As it is known, the orcish culture is far more barbaric and primitive. Their entire behavior shaped around their concept of honor. More information on orc culture can be found Here: Orcs

Art

The main art output of the city and therfore, the Uzg. Is the art of warfare. Also the orcish blacksmithing can be considered an art. For their creations outmatch many in the realm in terms of cruelty and savagery.

Literature

Mostly books about the spirits and their realms fill the libraries of San'Thraka. These old tomes often contain rituals and phrases in the Old Blah, the language spoken by the spirits and shamans. Aside from this there often are recipes and guides on how to prepare the most exotic halfling or elven soup.

Music

Music is not part of the orcish culture. The main form of music made would be that of the orcish wardrums or the warhorns. Though often one can see a shaman use a drum in his rituals, music is not considered an artform used as entertainment.

Religion

The main and only tolerated religion in the orcish lands and thus also San'Thraka is the Spiritual Faith. All orcs believe that there are multiple realms beyond the one of mortals, where the spirits live and take care of everything imaginable. Shamans are the orcish priests and can serve as a bridge between the spiritual and mortal realm.
