| − | Rodrik grew up as an Ashton, an extinct branch of House Ruric. His father Olaf was the son of Eirik The Great, one of the many paragons of the Red Faith. Rodrik had many siblings, but none could compare to his older brother Grigor. While Olaf wasn’t around Grigor acted as his major male influence. Rodrik would also have a twin sister, Lyanna.

| − | Rodrik grew up in a large household, having many bastard siblings who would live with him. He lived a rather modest childhood, tending his father’s kennel. He had only two legitimate siblings, his older brother Grigor and his twin sister Lyanna. Rodrik would eventually meet Alys Tosali, his wife to be through the former Baron of the Tosali keep Thain Tosali. During House Romstun’s dominance, House Romstun marched on The Kingdom of Norland. Ser Rodrik’s brother, Grigor was part of the defenses of Vjorhelm. House Romstun had found an error in the wall system entering the city undetected. Grigor Ashton was outnumbered and surrounded. He died during the Romstun raids. Many Norlandic soldiers recounted him taking multiple Romstun bannermen with him.

| − | Shortly after the Romstun Revolt, Rodrik reportedly went missing. Many believed he had died. During this time, Rodrik would travel around Axios discovering many of its unknown ruins. It was until later he received word of Javier stepping down and Jevan taking his place. Rodrik didn’t think much of it until he received word of the siege of Vjorhelm. After Fifteen years of self-inflicted exile, Rodrik returned to Norland serving under his other grand-nephew, Jory. Soon after his return, Jory legitimized Rodrik and all Ashtons extincting House Ashton completely.
