He is widely regarded to be the last great rural statesmen of the Commonwealth before it's dissolution post the election of Anne I. (1785) He was the revered Governor-General of Kaedrin, and served in many other capacities during his long career; as Lieutenant-Governor, in the House of Lords, and for a time as an Imperial Senator.
