The Reformed Church denomination was established in Aegis. The main Human church underwent a split related to church-orderly and theological issues. In the first few years, eight churches were established. For every race there was at least one church. Also a library, a missionary army and an academy were founded. For a while the denomination was one of the biggest religions in Aegis. The God, with his two servants the Light (Aengul) and the Fire (Daemon), has a central place in the churches. The Church believes that each mortal is capable of influencing his own fate by making either "good" or "bad" choices. The reformed Church is highly orthodox and conservative.

History

History in Aegis

The Reformed Church was established in Oren when several people realized that, while it was the most populous nation in Aegis and the capital of Al'Khazar the largest city, religious attendance and beliefs were lacking in most citizens. The city was full of bustling businesses, houses and had different races and strata of society about. The large cathedral of Al'Khazar was underused, especially as literature, mathematics and biology replaced the old important religion of the Humans. This cathedral was run by the High Priest Everard Hightower, who was busy as a priest, army leader and other jobs. Therefore, the church had no chance to develop an own theology or doctrine. Sermons where never held and the mass of people had no rules, nor any idea to reach the eternal life.

At that time a member of the Human church got a call from the God to become a priest and develop a theology. Judase followed a long study at Orens theological academy in Al'Khazar. He was recognized as a talented speaker and preacher throughout Aegis. For some reason the Human church didn’t get the boldness from God and couldn’t accept Judase as a pastor. He was someone who wanted to build churches everywhere and wanted to do evangelism through missionary posts. He never intended to leave his Human church.

The Human church had also an own army. That army made sure that only people from the human race could enter the church. Some rumors reached Judase and some alarmed church members, that children were sacrificed and the High Priest was part of the Undead.

Meanwhile, Judase had attended several other religious schools or organizations, including The Druids and the Mages. But never could he find the true Faith. He still had the order to reform the Human church. Oren was seen as becoming more sinful daily, as a result of the badly managed church. Judase tried to be a priest there again. He was not accepted. He received many visions from Aeriel. "Reform my Kingdom before it falls." After that Judase left together with a part of the main church members. They called themselves the "Reformed Church". The idea was to form a temporary church and return to main church when God showed his grace again. Near the Cloud Temple of Aegis was a small empty place, next to the busiest road of Aegis. Judase and the alarmed members build a small chapel there. Judase was inaugurated as the Pastor. And a church council was chosen which is and was called: the Curatorium.

More and more alarmed members attended the congregation. People from all races were allowed, which was something totally new in Aegis. The small church was near Krugmar, the country of the Orcs. Even some Orcs attended the services. A missionary post was opened in Krugmar and Pastor Judase had to lead that congregation either. As the church was too small for all the former Human church members and the new members, a new building was designed. Also a church was opened in front of the Holmes agency and people from the Whisper Isles attended there.

In the following years, churches where established in: Kal'Urguan of the Dwarves, Kramoroe, Whisper Isles, Laurelin of the Elves, Snowy Fields and even a church in Al'Khazar was made. The denomination consisted of eight congregations, one missionary post, a library, an army to protect the Church from the Undead, some shops to raise some funds for the church and a theological academy which educated two new pastors. A big part of Aegis was now a "Reformist". The pastors of Judase, Subona, and Rob Mills needed to lead the big denomination, which was an extremely demanding job. But under God’s grace, it was possible and many people where converted to the true Faith: The biggest religion at that time.

The Undead came, one of their missions was to defeat the Reformed Church. It never happened. Until the last day of Aegis the first church near the Cloud Temple stood his ground. Wouldn’t that be a sign of God? Pastor Judase died a few years before the fall of Aegis. Pagans and heretics were everywhere, his body decided to attend the eternal life.

History in Asulon

In Asulon was a son of Judase, Petrus. Together with the members he sailed to Asulon. However, in Asulon he became a murderer, a sinner, a thief. But Petrus experienced a dream from the true God. He said to continue the life work of his father. All Petrus sins were forgiven and he converted to the true Faith. Together with some other members, which were still from Aegis, he build two new churches in an Elven village and Dwarven settlement.

All the members decided to settle in the city of Alras and the farms of Alras. A church was established in a very small apartment. The members and their Pastor moved several times and after a while there were two Reformed Churches in Alras. Because the members wanted to reach all the borders of Asulon with the true Faith, pastor Kilross was inaugurated.

Beliefs

The Reformed Church believes that the God of Asulon, has created this world for the Descendent races. Also he created his two servants, the Aengul and the Deamon. The Aengul obey the orders of God and give power in life such as magic. God has created the world with its natural laws. Therefore, the God no longer interferes with mortal races. The mortals have to interfere with God by doing good and positive things in our lives. God is the source of all good things. The Aengul Aeriel has an important place in the Church. Sometimes she is also referred to as a God.

When there are good things it is logical that there are bad/evil things. Those are coming from one evil power in our world, the power of Iblees. Because of the arrival of this power in the world, things went bad. Even so bad that the evil power created his own servants. Every inhabitant of Asulon has his own good/bad balance given by Aeriel. In his life he has to do so much good things as possible. He has to pray and obey one of the most important rules: "Treat yourselves and each other with respect". Your balance will "wiggle" to the good side. The result of these aforementioned things is simple, reincarnation after death. Those who have lived a positive and good live will be reincarnated as a new positive person or ghost.

The opposite is also possible. The bad power will determine ones future, and after death live another bad life. Aegis was destroyed by the bad power. For one simple reason, because of the Undead the good/bad balance was so disturbed that there were very few good people left. That is why Aeriel intervened in the realm. She gave the Descendents another opportunity of Asulon to live a life which reached its goal: being a good, positive and a patient person. The last chance of the four races.

That is why the Reformed Church exists, to try and live on the right side of the balance. The good side. Believers pray for power from Aeriel. Also, they try to restore the good/bad balance. That is why the Church is considered essential for a positive life, and any following positive lives.
