Oisin or John O'Rourke was an 18th-century naval captain & nobleman in The Holy Orenian Empire. He alongside George de Sarkozy, The Count of Pompourelia in 1780 formed The Imperial State Navy with the permission of the imperial crown. The following year, for his work on creating the Imperial State Navy along with serving as the Minister of Defense of Kaedrin he was given the County of Halstaig & peerage for his house.

Early Life

Oisin grew up in Galaeve, Aeldin with his cousins. In 1756, he along with the rest of his family took a boat to Arcas after the death of his father. The death also made Oisin the new patriarch of House O'Rourke. Upon arriving in Arcas, the family settled in The Commonwealth of Kaedrin; a vassal state to The Holy Orenian Empire. For two years they stayed in The Ostromir Estate until they had built up enough mina to purchase a property in Owynsburg, the capital of The Commonwealth of Kaedrin. Oisin turned the property into a printing press as a way to gain extra mina for the family. The founding of The O'Rourke Printing Press also created The O'Rourke Company.

Later Life

Sometime around Oisin's twenty-fifth name day, he was appointed Minister of Defense of The Commonwealth of Kaedrin. Inspired by his new position, Oisin & George de Sarkozy began work on forming an Imperial State Navy. The Ministry of The Interior allotted land for a naval base to Oisin only two years later which started a recruitment drive for the navy. Offering a few commissions, Oisin was able to attract enough men to begin work on the creation of a naval port & the imperial fleet. It took roughly ten years for the port & fleet to be completed. In 1774, The Imperial State Navy was officially formed.

In the following year, The Sutican War broke out. Immediately Oisin was called to mobilize the navy in order to sail to Sutica & blockade it. Unfortunately for the Navy, winter set in & covered the northern ocean in a blanket of ice, preventing ships from entering or leaving the north sea.
