Oisin O'Breathnach Roza, also called Oisin the Usurper, Oisin the Bastard, and regally Oisin I, was the son of William I, King of Rozania and was a claimant to the Rozanian throne for three months during Oisin's Rebellion. Following Oisin's abandonment of his claim to the throne, he went on to style himself the honorary title of Prince of Rozania, which he personally maintains to this day despite the dissolution of the Kingdom of Rozania into the Duchy of Rozania. He is the fourth eldest child of King William, and was sired as one of the King's many bastard children.

Early Life

Oisin was born 7 S.A within the Kingdom of Haense to William Buckfort and Cara O'Breathnach, the latter being a tavern worker who William had grown fond of and slept with. Following Oisin's birth, William left Cara to her own devices to raise the child. Despite the abandonment, Cara decided to give Oisin both her surname and William's to signify his noble birth, and thus named him Oisin O'Breathnach Buckfort. As he grew up, he inherited his Mother's red hair yet his Father's signature Blue eyes, which all children of William had. His young life was relatively calm as his Mother filled his head full of fantasies about his Father and how Oisin would be destined for a great life once he had grown. Upon turning twenty, Cara sent Oisin off to the Commonwealth of Sutica to reunite with his father and sailed away from Almaris to an unknown fate.

Upon reuniting with his Father, Oisin was immediately taken in as one of William's children and was allowed to stay in his father's estate known as the County of Sarissa. From there, Oisin quickly established himself as a brilliant Military mind by reforming the current guard force and increasing its membership, and he helped to crush a small-scale rebellion against the King and Queen of Sutica during the early years of their reign. For this, Oisin gained William's favor and was named Captain of the Guard.

Early Military Career

Oisin started off his military career by joining the guard force of Sarissa, and immediately rose through the ranks due to his intellect in battle tactics. He managed to score an early victory by leading the forces of Sarissa to victory against a small rebel group that wanted to oust the King and Queen of Sutica. After a short battle, Oisin drove the rebels from Sutica and earned favor with his father William. Following the crushing of the rebellion, Oisin was awarded the rank of Captain.

Following his promotion to Captain, Oisin immediately began to reform the Sarissan guard force into a proper military force, and its numbers quickly swelled with native Sarissans. Oisin also began a campaign of centralizing Sarissa and its vassal of Brynrose into one military figure, and this led to a conflict with the Rustlers and the Red Company. The Red Company had been taking up residence in Brynrose and had been serving under Sarissa for some time, but Oisin sought to make sure Sarissa did not overly rely on Mercenary companies. When it was discovered that the Red Company had harassed and robbed citizens of a neighboring Vassal-state of Sutica, Oisin jumped at the opportunity. He immediately summoned every member of the Red Company involved in the incident to trial, and had those found guilty expelled from Sarissa and Brynrose. The Red Company was outraged by this and thus fled to the Rustlers and their keep for shelter. As a result, the Rustlers raided and harassed Sarissa, beginning the Rustler-Sarissan Conflict. The conflict came to a head when 1,000 Red Company and Rustler warriors marched towards Sarissa, and were met by 2,100 Red fist and Sarissan warriors under the command of Oisin and his Father. With the help of the terrain and strategic maneuvoring, the Sarissan forces were able to beat back the Rustler-Red Company army and successfully put an end to the Rustler-Sarissan Conflict.

Following the end of the Rustler-Sarissan conflict, Oisin sired a Bastard child with his dark-elf lover named Jadwiga of Sarissa. The Half-Elf child born from this affair became known as Szymon Buckfort. For a while, Oisin tried to be a good father to Szymon, but eventually the shame of having sired a Halfbreed Child caused Oisin to drift from his Bastard child. As a result, the relationship between Oisin and Szymon became strained over the years.

Mid-Life

At some point, tensions between Sarissa and Sutica rose to a point where Oisin's Father felt like the Sarissan people would be better off as their own independent nation. By William's orders, the Sarissan people packed up their belongings, burnt down Brynrose, and left for the mainland of Almaris. For a few months, the Sarissan people settled in Yong Ping and built up a small camp on the coast, and it is here that Oisin met his future wife Diona Fleurgrass, who was the Sarissan head treasurer and William's former mistress. The pair became close to one another, with Oisin often confiding in Diona and vice versa. It got to the point where Oisin eventually proposed to Diona and the two became engaged, which caused Oisin's Father to harbor jealous resentment towards Oisin. Eventually, the Sarissans moved on from Yong Ping and founded the Kingdom of Rozania and subsequently Buckville, the first Rozanian settlement.
