Biography

Early life

Octavian spent much of his youth prior to the War of Two Emperors travelling around the various states of the Empire of Man. An attempted assassin would try to strike down the seven year-old Octavian during a visit to Ves, but Octavian would instead strike down the assassin. At the dawn of the War of Two Emperors, Octavian would be thrown into a life of warfare, fighting in many skirmishes and the Siege of Helena, a battle in which he gained much renown for slaying the second most soldiers, only beaten by Donald Dabber. He would go to get the nickname 'the Young Dragon' and be awarded the title Hero of Renatus for his efforts and prowess during the siege. He would continue to be present for further skirmishes and field battles until 1721.

Departure for Aeldin

In 1721, Octavian would leave Arcas and travel to Aeldin after hearing of a conflict brewing over there. There are many suspected reasons for his departure, the primary being that he wanted to improve his skill as a commander, particularly when commanding cavalry, something which he could not do in Arcas as the War of Two Emperors was becoming increasingly one-sided with the collapse of the Holy Orenian Empire, leaving the Kingdom of Haense as the only active enemy. Other rumours say that Octavian suffered heartbreak when a supposed lover died, resulting in him leaving.

Dissolution of Horen

Following the dissolution of House Horen as decreed by His Imperial Majesty, Godfrey II, in 1721 Octavian was no longer regarded as a Horen, taking on the family name of Helane in its place.
