Mother: Victoria Adelheid d'Arkent née de Balain

Maisie Adelheid d'Arkent (High Imperial: Margarita Alice), otherwise known as Maisie of Sunholdt or Adelheid of Arthi'onn, was a member of the house d'Arkent. She was the second born daughter to Lord Alexander-Lucian d'Arkent, and his wife Lady Victoria Adelheid d'Arkent née de Balain. She is a well-established member of the Augustine court under the rule of Anne I, Holy Orenian Empress, Joseph II, Holy Orenian Emperor, and John VIII, Holy Orenian Emperor.

Early Life

Lady Maisie Adelheid was born with her twin brother Caspian d'Arkent within the Duchy of Selm upon the 13th of The Snow Maiden, 1794 to Lord Alexander-Lucian d'Arkent and Lady Victoria Adelheid d'Arkent. She was the triennial born, and second born daughter to the pair. At that moment, the Duchy was under Peter Baldwin d'Arkent, the 2nd Duke of Sunholdt. Many would note how constantly sick she was, most convinced she would not make it through the evacuation to Almaris. However, some sort of miracle occurred and she would soon recuperate. Her formal education would begin soon after under various Imperial tutors and nannies. Known for her large dictionary of manners and etiquette knowledge that she had memorized.

Subsequently, after the disappearance of both her parents, the miss was sent to the Augustine court for the remainder of her childhood. There she learned more about court manners under Lady Anna Henrietta Pruvia-Provins. Much like her father, she had the urge to travel and explore. This sense of curiosity got the bright girl into some sticky situations. One of those being a rather harsh argument between her and Elijah d'Emyth over the girliness of pink. Forevermore being known for her grudges.

In 1807, Maisie was issued to Haense to start a wardship under Queen-Consort of Hanseti-Ruska Isabel. There she continued her education, befriending Mariya Antoniya and Mariya Sofia. She also took a mentorship under the famous Seamster, Wilhelm O.R. She was most known for her five-time win streak in Hanseti Chess, the longest in history.

The young girl later returned to Providence for the first-ever social season of 1810. This season quickly turned into turmoil for the Sedan Rebellion, plunging Maisie into a deep depression which she only recovered from when she was given the chance to travel Almaris.

The Social Season of 1810

The first-ever Social Season was declared by the Princess Elizabeth Anne three months after Maisie d'Arkent turned sixteen. All planned debutantes were canceled as a result of this. All of Oren's ladies were now expected to make their debut at the Imperial-hosted Social Season. Before the debut, Maisie was seen at all gatherings accompanying her friends, Margaux, Cosette, and Alexandrina. During her own debut, Maisie wore her grandmother's wedding jewels, The Rubies of Alban, and a white gown designed by herself. The Sunholdt d'Arkent was given quite the compliment from Princess Imperial considering her plain entrance and dress.

"Very Elegant, Lady Maisie" -Of The Princess Imperial to Maisie d'Arkent's debut during the Social Season of 1810

An unexpected weight was set upon the woman's shoulders as she watched her more seasoned sister Debute, Lady Adriana, hauling the Sunholdt notoriety through the mud. Maisie quickly set to raising her family's standing during the accompanying gatherings and dances. Holding this duty which was simply tossed onto her as resentment against her sister. All through the season, Maisie appeared to stroll over the dramatization often occurring at these events. Characterizing herself as a solid entity. Not easily thrown to the wolves like many of the others in the season.

When the Social Season had started, Lady Maisie met Lord Conrad Ashford de Falstaff. The two were seen together during each occasion of the season, they were considered by numerous the best couple. However secretly, Maisie conceded to her more established sibling, Peter Alexander that Conrad had was quick to anger. She just was thinking about wedding him since he had effectively kissed her and thought she was ruined.

Conrad, confessed his intentions to marry Maisie a month before the closing masquerade. Maisie cheerfully accepted. The happy couple split up meer hours before the masquerade as Conrad admitted to joining the Sedan Rebellion. He didn't care for how more seasoned women like the Majordomo could boss him around. Choosing his own path. Provoked, Maisie left him swiftly. She rejected all letters sent by him and any chances he attempted to make to explain himself further. Confessing the wrongdoings of her ex-betrothed to the ruby, Alexandrina. The ruby then turned it into dark gossip. Telling everyone the de Falstaffs had betrayed the country and all three of the men had aligned themselves with Sedan.

The Aftermath

Maisie did not go to the closing Masquerade, choosing to wall herself off in the Sunholdt estate for many years. No one saw her. In the safeness of her home, she continued her studies with air evocation, poetry, the harp, and even winemaking. Brewing a few wines with the grapes the Kovachev sisters sent her in get-well baskets.

Sourness still left over from her failed season, she'd take out on her cousin Mary Casimira during the youth's own Social Season of 1817. She'd note how angry her cousin looked when she wasn't crowned the ruby, and later her younger brother Wilhelm's own tabloid, calling his sister the diamond of the season.

"The Faux Diamond: Diamonds aren’t supposed to be jealous, as they shine brighter than rubies. But this one is! Informing me herself, Mary Casimira, of how Elisabeth Leopoldine stole the title right from under her! Then claiming to be friends with the elegant and magnificent ruby. How two-faced." -Of Maisie d'Arkent on her gossip tabloid about the Carrington Soriee of 1817.

Due to this gossip, she was banned from the Augustine Court for the rest of the Social Season. Only accelerating the process of Maisie packing her bags and running off to travel Almaris properly.

Career

Magi

At the age of 16, Maisie contacted and started her education with voidal magic under Leona of Arthi'onn. Her first major evocation being air. She kept such information private from everyone in her family, choosing to travel frequently to Sutica for her lessons. During the Sedan Rebellion, her tutoring stopped. This was because Maisie rarely left the house, heartbroken over Conrad de Falstaff.

Once the Rebellion was over, she'd continue her lesson as normal. Also picking up fire evocation from Leona. Once more, another war came around. The 10th Nordling war. Instead of letting this stop the aspiring mage, she took refuge with her teacher Leona in Sutica. Living with Leona and her close friend, Fey. Fey and Leona eventually dubbed Maisie, Adelheid of Arthi'onn. Giving her elf-like ears so she could sneak out and spend more time with her adopted family. Along with that, Fey would start to teach Maisie Earth Evocation.

Once her mastery of Air and Fire was complete, Maisie herself would go on to start teaching a few ladies. Renae of Arth'onn was in this group, an adopted aunt.

After the 10th Nordling war, Maisie returned to Oren. Continuing her lessons in Haelun'or and Haense with Fey and Leona. Eventually, she'd locate a Water Evocation teacher by the name Lenniel.

In 1826, Maisie had completely collected all four major evocations. Destined to have mastered all by 1849.
