The silver city of Lin’Sulan was the capital of Haelun’or in Vailor, and the home of the High Elves. It could be reached via a ship moored at the Cloud Temple Docks, and was a proud accomplishment of the High Elven people.

The city was split into two districts, the upper being for the High Elves themselves, and the lower for people of other races deemed worthy to live within Haelun’or’s walls. Because of this, anybody could visit and interact with the high elves, unlike their cities of past lands.

History and Construction

Lin’sulan was a well-constructed city, built after the controversial and stagnant town of Fi’Ceru. The project was led by Avern’dionne Adriane and completed over many months of work. Its style was similar to that of Lin'evaral, the high elven city in Anthos.

Geography

Lin’sulan was located directly adjacent to The Citadel on the High Elven Isles. It could be accessed via roads, or by boat through the Cloud Temple Docks.

Notable Figures

  • Kelthran Marailer - Sohaer
  • Avern’dionne Adriane - Maheral
  • Riondil Seni - Expelled Politician

Government

The system of government within Haelun'or revolves around the Heial'mali, otherwise known as the Silver Council, as it has for hundreds of years. At its head is the Sohaer the leader of Haelun'nor. The Maheral serves as the cultural leader and a source of wisdom; they are selected by the previous Maheral instead of by vote. Other Tilruir positions are also used, whose numbers vary depending on the amount of positions required. The Tilruir look after various aspects of Haelun'or, ranging from the military to citizenship.

With the formation of the Dominion of Malin, The Silver Council reported to the King on some aspects of government.

Society

Life within High Elven society revolves around the maehr’sae hiylun which can be translated to ‘progress and health’. The atmosphere within the Lin'sulan was calm, with most interactions happening within the Inn in the lower district. Other common events included debates and trials within the main square of the city.

Economy

The high elves of Lin’sulan were open to trade with people of other nations. Market stalls were available within the lower district for any merchant who wished to sell their wares.

Literature

The Eternal Library of Haelun’or is known as a center of knowledge across the land. Created in Asulon, this institution has tomes dating back hundreds of years. One can find information on nearly anything within this library, although access is only granted to pure mali’aheral and restricted for all others.

Religion

High Elves practice no religion, due to their belief that placing faith in an invisible deity (and as such one that cannot have its motives or intentions explained rationally) would be an illogical thing to do. Believing dogma to be of no use to them or even detrimental to progress and innovation, the word 'religion' itself has a stigma attached to it. However, the extreme adherence High Elves have to their attaining of knowledge and wisdom is of no less intensity than the zeal of those that excessively practice religion.

Random Tidbits

  • The Citadel, a past city of Haelun’or, still stands but remains abandoned next to Lin’sulan.
  • The High Elves are also called the Mali'aheral, which is their name in Ancient Elven.
