The Kingdom of Banardia, interchangeably known as Le Royaume de Banardie by its native inhabitants is one of the various human kingdoms located in Aeldin. Banardia is considered by many humans as the indisputable epicenter of the Auvergnian culture, and the country is renowned throughout the Aeldinic continent for being one of the wealthiest, and most decadent realms. Since its creation, it has been headed by the House of Anion: a sumptuous, eccentric family that has a knack for producing effeminate puppet kings, formidable queen-regnants, and the occasional power hungry kinslayer.

Aside from the kingdom being famous for its opulence and unconventional monarchs, Banardia is frequently praised for its beautiful foliage, agreeable climate, luxurious architecture, and glittering lakes. However, the realm is most certainly not without critics; Banardia is reviled throughout the Aeldinic continent for its laissez-faire approach to religion and morality. Over the centuries, countless Aeldinic clergy have called out Banardians for their lack of any substantial religious buildings or organizations, promiscuous attire, and relaxed approach to great sins such as adultery and greed.

Oddly enough, the nation is one of the few in Aeldin that does not consider Common an official language. Hardly anyone in Banardia can speak, let alone understand, Common. The only language the average Banardian would know is Auvergnian, which proves to be crippling for many, seeing as their living options outside of their home country are severely limited by their lack of bilinguality. On the other hand, the vast majority of Banardians regard Common as a senseless, unrefined language and refuse to learn it due to their great sense of cultural pride.
