Introduction

There has to be a discovery of something for anything to begin. Amongst people like the Oscillits, it is common to have lungs that are were scarred by fire. Lungs such as those are weakened, and they have difficulties in the necessary act of breathing. The fluctuations of breath of this patient were erratic, requiring a great deal of energy to imitate the average person's breath, a breath that sometimes did not have enough oxygen. Though as a result of his breathing, he found nuances, this oddity contributed to the need to quench his interest about this anomaly. This person would develop, with a focused drive, the origins of an art that would become known as Kani.

Effects

Delaying of Inertia - Power is postponed on a strike point for a brief amount of time, and an offensive aura may surround the weapon / fist of the Oscillit. A weak aura will start to develop upon the struck point. When more energy is channeled to the strike point the light is more powerful until the power is emitted to fly free. The invisible timer put on it, a timer that varies with the material being hit, would effectively reset each successive strike against a chosen level. Anything that is the solid's epitome will maintain a two second timer while a liquid maintains a ten second timer. This can be considered as being in the hostile frequency spectrum when achieved in action.

Selective/Penetrative Inertia - A complete bypass of an object can inflict force. It's convenient to think about this in a similar manner to the cradle of a Newton, where a single weight hits a set of weights that don't move before the rear weight is expelled, but with the resonance technique it can re-engage force in the middle of a row. It makes a penetrative impact on steel, although it does not affect the shield that moves through the force as if there were no weapons. The force can penetrate up to 3/16th an inch (7 gauge) with super hard solids, such as carbon steel, and with softer solids, such as hardwood, it can reach up to two inches. This effect does not create the desired result as torque is added into the equation in its own peculiar manner, indicating that little of significance will happen should we try to direct this into a large stick and hit an enemy around the back.

Hardening - This may induce temporary hardening of liquids and softer solid matter. Although making a robust membrane out of a pond surface for easy passage would require a passive frequency, it would require violent resonance from a fabric set to act as an armour. By using more violent frequencies the strength of the effect can be further established. On canvas a decent four could be achieved while in liquid a 7 meters could be accomplished. Hardened matter functions in a comparable way to what should be an incredibly durable material. Piercing and cutting tools without a label would not bounce back, they would break through the material but face strong levels of resistance.

Addition/Subtraction of Friction - A surface should be applied to a quantity of traction, whether it is a military intent to position one's feet or a feat of climbing a waterfall. A small amount of traction needed to keep one from sliding onto a surface can be achieved in passive resonance while active resonance is necessary with anything that carries body weight. This would be difficult to climb a complete 90 degree stone wall anyway, because the material is just not properly receptive. A surface can be made more shiny but this result does not have any impact on the ordinary flooring to affect any other person except the Oscillit itself. Although it can be achieved on a surface made of a porous substance to allow it to fall past oneself, doing so will entail the use of an offensive resonance.

Persistence with Mana - Tasks in which mana was required to engage may be 'extended' in time or, in other words, pushed into freezing. This means that a bolt of an evocationist can be compelled to remain in a state of stasis and in reality. Also if the initial mana source is eliminated it will remain, but it will taper over time. This result can be achieved only in Aggressive Resonance.

Tangible Energy - Tangibility can be generated through space, of course the forces that reside normally in the Descendant world will not become any more measurable than before it is something that is not inherently connected that achieves tangibleness. At passive frequencies, the response is low, with little practical use being able to cause slight distortions. Aggressive frequencies have a much more functional solution, allowing the Oscillite to treat energy as if it were physical matter. The Oscillit can catch or cause the peculiar effect of latching when the relative velocities aren't significantly different. Latching locks the resonant source into a body of energy quite easily, having the ability to grab anything that is too large or too flat, as well as force that changes depending on how it is represented.

Condensing - Through resonance it is possible to cause granules and particulate matter to condense together. Matter is made to stick together when eventually making contact. Thus something heavier than air and at rest, such as sand on a beach, will condense must faster than something floating through the air, such as smoke. What results is particulate matter condensing around a resonant source within a few millimeters. An Oscillite can use resonance to drag small particles together, allowing them to condense and form a whole solid. Sand on the ground, which is heavier than sand, even at rest, would be an perfect target. Things like sand particles can condense much easier than smoke, and much better.

Abilities

Resonance Anomaly - Resonance is a peculiar phenomenon found within the limits of sorcery, in which sorcery's power is redirected and in exchange displaces what is surrounding it, producing an experience similar to a sound wave. Since mana resides inside all, it may convert into physical effects on the environment, as well as mysterious encounters with powers dependent on mana. Some Resonance frequencies can lead to manipulation of inertia and friction through careful practice. Liquids are the most responsive to these kind of effects, while they are the least receptive to large solids. A solid is less receptive to manipulation. If a single particle is moving in its construction, meaning resonance waves can more easily form. This consequence, of course, is not one or two, it is one, two, and each decimal in between. This means that any substance is influenced differently slightly. It should not be too difficult to understand how a substance should behave by following the law between a hard solid and a soft liquid.

Interaction with Mana - The Resonance Anomaly has a mana source, and as a consequence it should be concluded that it can influence the powers of powerful mana. With the Resonance coming from the body of an Oscillit, it will activate a form of touch and mana interaction. Mana resides inside any truth element, including the air, the walls and the earth. Such objects, being the natural physical powers, will no longer become visible or have a lot the Resonance impact. It is because magic occurs beyond the usual physical powers where this phenomenon comes into play; magic evoked, non-human mana entities, and mana excess owing to other causes in the regions. In order to achieve these results, the Oscillite must also respond in some manner, meaning contact is limited and varies in strength.

Passive and Aggressive Ranges - Resonance occurs through a wide spectrum of frequencies which the Oscillite can regulate. The two main types are passive and aggressive, but not behaving binarily. The difference between passive and aggressive derives from an impact in the context of violent resonance where mana continues to behave as if it were assigned mana, and it appears to be called neutral and burning away into aura as neutral mana. With the ranges not completely binary, a resonant frequency may join marginally with a slow burn into violent ranges, or completely penetrate through and build a brightly burning aura with powerful effect, whereas passive ranges do not burn mana and contain no aura. The Aura created from an intense frequency of Resonance frequently deviates from the standard aura of normal cigarettes, glows, and wisps. Because of the existence of Echo it appears to show itself in more unpredictable ways such as electric sparks or flame licks. Really it may appear as almost anything imaginable in any combination of color so long as it never produces enough light to interfere with vision, is respective in intensity to how intense of an aggressive frequency it stems from, and comes from the locations in which the resonance is occurring.

Continuous Resonance - Continuous Resonance is a practice that someone who is talented with Kani will carry on, but also wishes to learn the arts of the void in their fullest degree. Through teaching yourself to sustain a small state of passive resonance in the body through everyday life, you will overcome the corruptive powers of a deep voidal link while enhancing your physical health, essentially negating the traditional mage vulnerability. This does not absolutely nullify down sides, but would merely move downsides to another aspect. You continue to establish a constriction on your own power to pull out of the vacuum with a state of steady resonance, whereas the persistent rhythm allows mana to burn away from the normal mage reservoir.

Eligibility

All Descendants can use Kani, given they can breathe to control Resonance. Kani does include 1 magic slot, however, as well as learning from anyone with an approved Teacher App. Additionally, beings seeking to use Kani must make an additional submission detailing their use of it and any special consequences as a result of their existence, for purposes of balance. The following descendants are fine: Hou-Zi, Wonks, Frost Witches, Klones, Kharajyr; however, Zephonim, Afflicted, and Nephilim are special cases.
