BIOGRAPHY

Early Life

Javier was born a bastard of Hakon Ruric to an unknown woman on the 10th of Deep Cold. He was legitimized when he was 18.

Reign

During Javier’s reign he was never able to organize a proper military. Despite disbanding the infamous Ashguard and replacing it with the Ruricguard enlistments were low, and men of Norland were having trouble recruiting. Javier Ruric was cushdy at getting the people to follow him, and found he didn’t need a standing military, the people were his military. The citizens of Norland the farmers, leatherworkers, and blacksmiths. Javier strutted about his city without guards. That's because the people were his guards, they protected him to the bitter end, regardless of whether or not they were viewed a warrior. Javier revived Norland, after his cousin, Artyom I ran it into the ground. Javier began by building a new capital, and gaining the respect of the new generation of Norlanders, since he had only recently came back to defend the Krag from the Dwarven attackers. Many of his people said that Javier was leading them through another golden age.

Dreadlands Conflict

Javier was raised in the Dreadlands, being taught the ways of combat by his father, Ser Hakon “The Shipwright” Ruric. While still in Vailor, Ser Hakon led countless attacks on Orenian lands, shattering their morale and forces. Javier learned from his father, beginning to go on raids on his own, with the best many he could scramble from within the Bonefort. Nearly all of his attacks on Oren being successful.

The Dwarven Assault

Conflict lasted 1607-1612 Dwarven aggression was ramped up against the Norlandic peoples under the Urguani Grand King Bastion Ireheart. While King Artyom was out with a coma, his distant cousin, Donovan Ruric ascended to the throne, leading the front against the Dwarven invasion. Tensions rose between the two kingdoms, and what was once small settlement raids turned into all-out field battles. The Dwarves, initially backed by the Horde of Dunamis, the Orcs, and the Teutonic Order, quickly swept through the Norlandic countrysides, pushing the Norlanders all the way back to the Krag, where they would make their last stand. With their backs to the wall and a Dwarven battleship blockading all flow of goods in and out of the Krag, the Norlandic peoples dug in. Vastly outnumbered and out-geared, the Norlanders lay in wait, just across the ravine. Midway through the war, the Norlandic peoples mustered all the mina they had left and put their chances upon the mercenary company of Dunamis, whom the Dwarves deemed not worth the money. This decision would pay off in the long run as the Norlanders and Dunamians fended off wave after wave of Dwarven, Orcish, and Teutonic onslaughts upon the stone walls of the Krag. However, each attempt proved futile, resulting in many attackers falling to their watery graves, hundreds of meters below Javier leading the defense on the North Side of the Krag for the First and Second siege took out many men and Siege engines. Dwarven siege engines combusted upon themselves and attackers pushed on and were routed in a series of attacks. With Dwarven Coalition casualties skyrocketing, they were forced to pull back after nearly three years of siege. As a result, the waters around the Krag were nicknamed by the stalwart defenders as Bloater Bay, due to the amount of waterlogged Dwarves that lay at the bottom of the ravine. With the siege lifted, the the Kingdoms of Urguan and Norland signed a white peace, ending five years of constant warring and bloodshed.

Romstun War

Conflict lasted 1621-1625 After being crowned King of Norland, Javier was faced with the Romstun Attack Philip the Orenian Empeor devised a plan with Deano Romstun to launch a Skirmish against the Norlandic people to constantly raid, and weaken them.. Many border skirmishes were fought between Norland and Romstun, and many times, Javier was able to lead Norlands defence and come out victorious against the Romstin Murauders, though that was not the case all of the time. Javier set up many forts along the border, in which the Romstun’s were not able to break through to the Norlandic countryside and eventually pulled away from the Norlandic borders, seeing as Javier commanded his men well House Romstun pulled out with neither side devolved into a Full on War. It was later that Phillip of Oren decided to cut ties with Romstun, and Launched a War against the House of Romstun, Due to Flay’s Flaying the Cousin of Phillip. Phillip launched a campaign known as the Phillips war, Norland seeing this as a chance to destroy their enemies, Norland joined the war, Sending cohorts of Calvary, To assist Oren insurring a overwhelming victory against their bitter rivals as the battle started the Norlanders has crossed the river on the left side of the Orenians, But was faced with a brutal charge from Romstun bannermen and lost nearly half of its men and allied cavalry under their command, attempting to flee back across the river. After regrouping, the Norlanders joined the Orenians in a main push across the center bridge which lead to a slog fest of combat.
