History

Arcas

The Venlic family has existed for many years, finding its origins in Reza, Haense when Henry Venlic I arrived after his parents were brutally murdered. Over time, Henry grew to love the Royal Capital and would start his career in the army. Over time, he worked his way up to the rank of Armsman in the Brotherhood of Saint Karl. The man also established himself as a Chef, working for many years beside the Chef who would later become the Royal Chef, Hogo Bojo. WIP.

• Baptism of the Flame - WIP
• Religious Pilgrimage - Once a Venlic reaches the age of fourteen, they are recognized as an adult within the family and are to set out on a religious pilgrimage to discover themselves and receive religious enlightenment.
• The Embers Feast - WIP
• The Meeting of Three - It is customary for the heads of the Bojo, Venlic, and Hope lines to meet every few years, whenever necessary, or in times of crisis to discuss important family decisions. It is also a time for the heads to reflect on the past and think towards the future of all the families.

Since the houses founding, members of the house have typically been a strong believer in the Fire Church. WIP.

Succession

House Venlic follows the Agnatic-Cognatic Primogeniture succession type. This succession type was put into place by Henry I 'the Founder' who believed that by raising a son for the specific purpose of leading the house, the house would thrive with an excellent leader, one greater any other member of his dynasty. This succession type means that the first born son inherits, and a daughter can only inherit if there are eligible male sons.

Regencies

House Venlic is a proud house that strongly believes that their family Head was given the right by God to lead them. Therefore, regardless of the age of the Head of the House, a Regency isn't issued. Regencies can only occur when the position of Head of House is vacant, where a Regent will be nominated amongst the house members or if a Designated Regent was chosen previously. The only other way for a Regency to occur is if the Head of the House declares one or is physically incapable of leading. For example: isolating themselves to pray, injured and incapable to move.
