Give a short summary of the family.

Appearance

One of the most notable appearances of a Rutledge is that they are black; the other being is that blood-related Rutledge has some type of hook nose, though it's less prevalent in their women. So far, the only eye colors that have been recorded in the Rutledge lineage are grey, blue, and brown. Height not an important factor, but it's duly noted that those coming from the line of Moses Rutledge have tended to be much taller than those who came from the line of Matthias Rutledge.

Mentality

It is said that Rutledge women tend to be rather independent, while Rutledge men tend to inherit fatherly traits; however, there are some exceptions, and it depends on each child. Yet, like most Southerons, Rutledges do not like being called Qalasheen or Farfolk, it is too generalizing and rather demeaning. If anything, it is encouraged to be proud to be dark, and it is encouraged for Rutledges to marry other Farfolk and other Southerons. It is also encouraged to other Rutledges that they steer clear of places like Kaedrin; mostly because of the inherent danger of being black. Career-wise, it seems that a Rutledge tends to fall into rather diverse categories; some have entered the medical field, some have entered the literary field, but a lot of them seem to like politics.

Culture

One of the most notable traditions is that of the Warhawkes. When any woman is married into, or out of, Rutledge, they are given a bokolo feather to wear behind their ear. They can be given a ring as most cultures and religions dictate, but the feather is always a must.
