The House of Pruvia-Albarosa is a branch of the now defunct House of Pruvia and is located in the Commonwealth of Kaedrin. Its dynasty had founded the Viscounty of Albarosa and the Prince-Archbishopric of Albarosa, rendering it an important elector in the Diet of Kaedrin. The house is primarily known for its tight alliance with the House of Helvets, its active involvement in Kaedreni governance and its period of prominence within the Church of the Canon.

Etymology

Pruvia stems from the former Principality of Pruvia, which was the title that the House held. Albarosa is flexio for White Rose and is a modern invention of His Holiness James II and Richard Victor Helvets: who had given this name to the property owned by the Kaedreni-placed Pruvians. The Prince-Archbishopric and the Viscounty that came from that property adopted its name accordingly. During the Pruvian split, they had to adopt 'Pruvia-Albarosa' as their new surname in accordance to Imperial naming laws.

Origins

Founded through the issue of Sir Alexander Joseph Pruvia, the line of Albarosa initially fell under the House of Pruvia. Although discussions about the establishment of a Cadet Branch were present, the line had long styled itself as Pruvia during its rise to prominence in the Commonwealth of Kaedrin. After John Everard, Philip Louis, Laurence August & Frederick Laurence disputed the legitimacy of Anna Maria's claim to the Princess of Pruvia title: a conflict within the house ensued, which required the intervention of family friend Sir Frederick Armas at the time. The mediation resulted into the dissolution of House Pruvia, splitting into the House of Pruvia-Provins and Pruvia-Albarosa respectively. The title of Prince of Pruvia was dissolved and split between the Viscounty of Provins and the Viscounty of Albarosa as well.
