History

Arcas

The Maelstorm Family originally appeared in Talon's Grotto during the reign of Sovereign James Avery in around Year 1780 of the First Era. Vivian Maelstorm arrived to Talon's Grotto alone, and purchased one of the manors of the Second Level of the city. During her time within Talon's Grotto, she owned a tavern known as the Birdcage to compete with the Alley Alehouse, and became one of the architects for the city, helping plan out the city streets and expansion of Sovereign Gail Cordius.

It was in this time that Vivian was granted a position of stewardship with Talon's Grotto in order to help with a housing spike that the city had recently experienced, and was later granted the position of position Minister of Internal Affairs upon the Talon's Grotto council, performing event planning for the city.

Almaris

Upon reaching the shores of Almaris, Vivian Maelstorm assisted in the planning of Talon's Port, the new capital city after the abandonment of Talon's Grotto in the light of the recent disasters. She was shifted into the Minister of Wealth position to oversee the city stewardship and perform tax work for the city.

In Year 19 of the Second Era, Sovereign Minto Townsend stepped down from the position of Sovereign due to multiple threats of assassination, and Vivian Maelstorm was voted upon by the council to be the next ruler of Talon's Port, becoming Sovereign Vivian Maelstorm.

In Year 26 of the Second Era, Sovereign Vivian disbanded the prior government of Talon's Port, forming The Unified Domain of Vortice and declaring a hereditary monarchy with the Maelstorms as the royal family. Each of her children at the time was granted the title of Prince, and Princess, some of whom still style themselves in that way in the modern day.

In Year 30 of the Second Era, the adoptive daughter of Monarch Vivian, Peralien Maelstorm, was disinherited and banished from The Unified Domain of Vortice after insulting a Haenseni royal known as Otto August. This forced Peralien Maelstorm to escape to the Duchy of Rozania. In her isolation, Peralien Maelstorm became the marshal of the Rozanian Army, before later breaking away from Rozania to lead the Barony of Pinemaw, and later the County of Pinemaw as the baroness and countess.

In Year 53 of the Second Era, the grandson of Monarch Vivian Maelstorm, James Maelstorm, assumed the position of Patriarch of the Maelstorm Family.

In Year 69 of the Second Era, Prince James Maelstorm, created the Maelstormic Society, claiming that the Maelstorm family were the rightful rulers of Vortice. This action incited a small rebellion within The Unified Domain of Vortice, known as the Maelstormic Claim on Vortice, which lasted a year, in Maelstormic Defeat.

James Maelstorm has been denounced and disowned by Aerith Majin-Maelstorm, the elder daughter of Vivian, and the true Matriarch of the Maelstorm Family due to only being once removed from Monarch Vivian as opposed to twice-removed.

At the end of the Maelstormic Claim on Vortice, James Maelstorm was discovered to have committed suicide at the gates of Talon's Port, thus putting an end to the Maelstormic Society and positioning Vortician Steward and adopted son of Monarch Lenora Jusima, Vakas Jusima, formerly know as Claude Majin-Maelstorm, as the next heir-presumptive of the family.

In Year 75 of the Second Era, Aerith Maelstorm and her fiance Emandriel Anarore had a daughter known as Fae Maelstorm, thus becoming the new heir-presumptive of the Maelstorm Family. In the same year, Aerith Maelstorm was appointed as the Minister of Internal Affairs for the Unified Domain of Vortice after an overwhelmingly positive vote from the council.

In Year 77 of the Second Era, Peralien Maelstorm would issue The Edict of Pagórek on behalf of Jackalope Order, while the majority of the edict was clarifying the future of the Order, it also created the title of 'Lord-Protector of Rozania', giving it to Peralien and declaring that she is the regent of the Duchy of Rozania.

In Year 78 of the Second Era, Peralien Maelstorm is granted the Barony of Maelstorm-Róża in the First Edict of Myryna. And grants the title of Duchy of Rozania to the Duke of Redclyf in the Second Edit of Myryna.

In the year 79 of the Second Era, Peralien Maelstorm lost both the title of Lord-Protector of Rozania and the title of Baron of Maelstorm-Róża after attempting to usurp the Crown of Rozania from the Duke of Redclyf-Rozania with the intent to give the title to a different party, the situation is more detailed on the Redclyf perspective here in this missive.

In the year 91 of the Second Era, Aerith Maelstorm's fiance, Emandriel Anarore, would be killed by her biological twin brother, Vakas Jusmia, in a jousting accident, leaving Aerith to mourn the loss of her partner for over fifty years.

Some time between year 91 of the Second Era and year 128 of the Second Era, Fae Maelstorm disappeared, leaving the heir-presumptive position of the Maelstorm Family empty.

Aevos

In the year 131 of the Second Era, the Maelstorm House, alongside the Unified Domain of Vortice, made their way to the continent known as Aevos, where Aerith continued to serve her position as the Head of Internal Affairs, even taking on a delegate for her duties, known as Wes Vertesk.

Some time between year 131 of the Second Era and 142 of the Second Era, Aerith Maelstorm was adopted by Apollyon Snowell.

In the year 142 of the Second Era, Aerith Maelstorm adopted a high elven child that was left in the city abandoned, and named her Vivien Maelstorm, after her late mother. Vivien would earn the title of heir-presumptive to House Maelstorm.

In the year 148 of the Second Era, Aerith Maelstorm began a relationship with Varik von Minitz, whom, at the time, was a squire to Sir Peter Stroheim of Minitz.

In the year 151 of the Second Era, Aerith Maelstorm and Varik Sturmweber adopted a half-high elven, half-wood elven child, who was promptly named Karina Sturmweber. Later in the year, Aerith Maelstorm married Varik Sturmweber and fell pregnant, joining the families together.
