The Bojo Family is a well-known family, known for being renowned Chefs and nobility within the Principality of South Sedan, holding the title 'Barony of Huuvardia'. The family established itself in Reza, Haense by Hogo Bojo I after the loss of his parents. Alongside his younger brothers, they worked hard to succeed in life and spread the family name. The two brothers, Finn and Henry would go onto form their own cadet branches, House Hope and Venlic prospectively.

Culture

Language

The House primarily speaks Common, the most used and widespread language in all of the continents. However, many members of the house mix in words from New Marian into their speech, hailing back to their beginning as a Haeseni family.

Traditions

  • The Meeting of Three - It is customary for the Heads of the Bojo, Venlic, and Hope lines to meet every few years, whenever necessary, or in times of crisis to discuss important family decisions. It is also a time for the heads to reflect on the past and think towards the future of all the families.
  • The Cook Off Of The Decade - Every tenth year, all members of the house, including cadet branch members are invited to partake in a cooking competition. The competition is judged by the Head, with a particular theme being chosen by them as well. The winner receives a wide variety of cooking supplies, some minas to continue their culinary strides, and the title 'Renowned Chef of Bojia' until the next decade where it will be re-distributed to the competitions next winner.

Rulership

The Head of House Bojo is considered to be an important prestigious position by members of the house as well as the families cadet branches. The Head is granted the titular Lordship of Bojia title. The Head of the House is an absolute authority who rules the house without opposition or limits.

Succession

The current succession type of the dynasty is Absolute-Cognatic Elective. This means that one of the alive Bojos will be elected as the Head of House by the electors. Women can inherit the same as men, as long as they aren't matrilineally married. Changing your surname also disqualifies you from succession. The current Elector titles are: Lord of Bojia, Matriarch of House Hope, and Patriarch of House Venlic.

Regencies

Members of the Bojo dynasty of the age of fourteen years or older are legally considered adults within the family. This belief stems from the families founding in Haense, where the age of adults is fourteen. Those who hold the title of this age or above may lead the house with no restrictions. Those who inherit the title below the age of fourteen will be subjected to a Regency. The Regent will either be designated ahead of time by a previous family head or will be nominated amongst the current family members in leadership. A temporary or permanent Regency can also be called if the Head is declared to be incapable to lead. This can occur due to: sickness, injury, insanity, etc...

Noble Titles

Barony of Huvardia

The title 'Barony of Huvardia' is currently held by Hogo II. He was granted this title by Prince Leopold de Joannes of Southern Sedan for his hard work as a military officer and Lord Treasurer of the Principality. Hogo is the second Baron of Huvardia, as the former Barons of Huvardia, House von Halsfield went into exile to the Isle of Aeldin so the title was returned to the Crown and later granted to Hogo II.

Lordship of Bojia

The Lordship of Bojia is currently a titular title held by the Head of the family. It was created by Hogo Bojo upon the purchase of a plot of land under the Trade Kingdom of Sutica from the Trade Prince, Mika Uialben. Sutica however was couped shortly after the purchase and thus the actual land was never obtained. However, the founder decided to keep the title around as a titular one, to be held by the Head of the family since he already obtained it at a cost. The Lordships title was named after the first restaurant owned by Hogo I, Bojia.
