House of Arden

The House of Arden (Common: Arden: Rosnian: Ardenne;) is a human noble family from the parent House of Staunton, founded by the bastard son of Alexander II. The Ardens currently situate themselves within the Pinemarch of Arcas taking up an irrelevent stature amoungst the folk there, plotting for their return to relevancy in Arcas.
After having loyally served the Kingdom of Norland for numerous years, bearing only the bastard name of Staunton "White", Richard would establish himself as a Count, then a Duchy, after having numerous Norlandic vassals declare fealty to him. Although his reign would run short after having joined the Staunton Uprising, bringing up the quick end of the Duchy of Nevaria and Richard I Arden. The House would scatter into the wind before being refounded by Kjartan Arden in Nordengrad, where he would be made marshal for the majority of his time there. He established the Arden House and aquired a barony taking up a great amount of the Nordengradic rally. Although due to an unknown illness Kjartan Arden passed away in his bed, while his son would assume the mantle. The House Arden turned from a once strong house of Norland onto a destroyed house, lacking people and leadership. The majority of the Ardenins would fall during the Siege of Nordengrad. The House would move to Rosenyr, quickly being granted a Duchy and a large majority of land. Upon the reclaimation of the Earl of Nordengrad and Kingdom of Norland, the house would once more flock to the Rurics, most notably Izekeil. Where he would be made the first Ardenin thane of Norland.
Notable Members
- Richard "The Dog" Arden - Grew the house to nobility status, having marched into a small pallisade fort called Jornburg. He eventually fell during the Siege of Ashwood.
- Kjartan Arden - Reformed the House of Arden under the banners of the Rurikid, growing them to be the most influential family in Nordengrad, having numerous council positions, a successful vineyard, and regrowing his house to nobility status.
- Izekeil Arden - Thane of Norland, notable commander in the Battle of Nordengrad, thaned by Alvar I, King of Norland for is valiant action in the defence of the Kingdom of Norland, perished during a fight between himself and Curonites.
