The House of Amador (Common: Amador; Hansetian: Amaodar; High Imperial: Amador) is an ancient bloodline that reaches back before the founding of the Holy Orenian Empire in Asulon under Godfrey I, Exalted Holy Orenian Emperor. Having been given the Ducal title of the Holy Lands upon its independent Conquest & the founding of Crestfall, The House of Amador has historically held the Barony of Mondstadt while being a vassal of the Kingdom of Haense, but has been a Noble House under the Holy Orenian Empire, often losing its noble peerage before rising again to reclaim it, thus its House Words are "From Ashes, We Rise."

History

Asulon

The History of the House of Amador can be traced back to Jack Amador, the founder of the family circa 1350 & Jiraiya Amador, his younger brother. Whilst born in Aegis, the Amador family started off as subsistence farmers and merchants, until their arrival on Asulon. In Aegis, the farm that the House of Amador was raised from was razed by an Orc raid that killed many of the Adults of the family, leaving behind two branches; The first was the main line of Jack Amador & his younger brother Jiraiya, the second was a group of uncles and cousins, brothers of Deran Amador, the Brothers' father. Here, the origins of Jack & Jiraiya are clouded in myths that support numerous theories about the pair to this day.

Founding of Vendere

Map of the Holy Lands

In 1351, the Amadors made their first appearance in Asulon as merchants with a skill for bargaining, joining numerous guilds and becoming a strong mercantile force in the world. Either through the aspirations of Jack & Jiraiya, the pair were soon caught word that the Kingdom of Renatus & the Church of the True Faith sought to include the Islands to their West as part of their Kingdom, dubbing them the Renatus Holy Lands or #Holy Lands' for short. Using the Amador fortune and gathering all their family, including Gilbert & Benard to their aid in 1362, they Founded Vendere, a port village which straddled the straits between the Sea connecting the Kingdom of Renatus & the Kingdom of Salvus to the East and open ocean to the West. This inevitably brought ire from the Kingdom of Renatus, but praise from the Church of the True Faith. However, they were not alone on the archipelago.

Upon creating the settlement, the Amadors discovered a neighbour on the main island, the High Elven Settlement of Ceru, which had colonised the area after Nelecar, Okarir’sil of Haelun'or, abused his powers and angered citizens with excessive punishments for small crimes. Ellir’siol, a fellow council member of Haelun'or, opposed Nelecar’s actions and confronted him. When a compromise could not be reached, Ellir’siol led the disaffected of Haelun’or’s citizenry to Ceru. :

”Piling upon boats, Ellir’siol’s supporters left the Emerald Isle to the town of Ceru-- a cliffside village and quasi-colony that bordered the Kingdom of Renatus. Here, they settled for a time, and waited.” - Lucion Sullas, A quote from The Haelun’or Schism Volume II.

Crestfall & War

The two neighbours peacefully co-existed for a time, with some instances of inter-racial relationships forming, to the chagrin of some within the Church of the True Faith. Over time, Jack & Jiraiya capitalised on the good relations with the High Elves and merged Ceru & Vendere into Crestfall in 1378, with Jack Amador becoming the titular Count of the largest island in the Archipelago. Subsequently, An Inquisitor from the Church of the True Faith came to investigate and was damning in his critique, leading to efforts Circa 1390, to resolve the tensions peacefully.

During his Tenure as Duke, Jack Amador integrated the gentry house of Soulblade into his own family, effectively merging the strong stock and prowess of the Soulblades with the cunning and judgement of the Amadors. The current line of Amador draws its descent from the famed warrior, Ramdir Amador nee Soulblade, who was adopted into the family following the merging.

On the 11th of the Deep Cold, 1399, Jack Amador fought in the Battle of the Lone Island and conquered the Island chain adjacent to Vendere: the Isle of Ignas Nomine & Isle of Tarrel. House Fire-eyes & House Norsem were granted the lands in return for fealty to Count Jack, who was subsequently recognised by the Church of the True Faith as Duke of the Holy Lands. Jiraiya Amador became Count of Crestfall, whilst Jack attempted to maintain diplomatic relations with the Kingdom of Renatus This did not make him popular with his people or his own family, as a petition was drawn up in favour of the King of Salvus revoking Jack's Title and placing the Dukedom in care of Jiraiya Amador, but this didn't transpire.

With the Arrival of Godfrey I, Exalted Holy Orenian Emperor of the House of Horen, the House of Amador bent the knee and aided the Emperor in the war against the Kingdom of Salvus. After deposing the House of Sheffield and enfeoffing the Kingdom to the House of Hightower, the House of Amador's Vassalage was transferred to the Kingdom of Salvus, themselves now a part of the First Holy Orenian Empire.

Exodus

At the Behest of Godfrey I, Exalted Holy Orenian Emperor, Jack Amador was responsible for a large-scale construction of the Holy Orenian Empire’s navy, a dramatically consequential decision in the future. As a result, the town of Vendere & village of Ceru were incorporated into the City of Crestfall, which boasted a vibrant trade hub out of the Empire, a Guildhouse and a new Shipyard. The creation of the Navy made Jack & the House of Amador incredibly rich and one of the most prominent in Imperial politics, though Jack did not seek to abuse this trust from the Emperor.

After a series of natural disasters began to consume the world of Anthos, plague descended on the Capital City of Arethor, whilst Earthquakes, Floods hit the land. House Amador, having been the shipwrights and foremost naval power within the First Holy Orenian Empire, effectively built the fleet used by the Imperials to sail to Elysium. For this alone, Jack & Jiraiya are considered a Mythically Heroic figures. However, upon emigrating the lands of Asulon, Daniel Amador describes an ill-omen following along the family, resulting in the deaths of several of it's members, including Jack Amador.

Elysium, Kalos & Anthos

House Coat of Arms from Anthos

After emigrating from Asulon, the House of Amador found itself sailing to the Isle of Elysium. It is believed that, during this first Voyage, along with Benard Amador, the Duke's Advisor and family member, died en route. After leaving the Isle for the Archipelago of Kalos, Gilbert Amador, the House's Steward, also died unexpectedly. Unfortunately, few to no records survive of the House's time on Elysium and Kalos are lost to History, though it is assumed that the House fought alongside the Holy Orenian Empire against the Kingdom of Eryvor, if they were still able to.

Upon emigrating the Archipelago of Kalos, Duke Jack Amador of the Holy Lands succumbed mysteriously to death early into the voyage. Jiraiya Amador did not take up the mantle as the House Patriarch, instead passing it onto his son, Seth Amador. However, Seth died not long after, breathing life into the myth started by Daniel Amador that an ill-omen had since followed them from Asulon. Tristan Amador became the House Patriarch, however, he was of a sickly disposition and not expected to survive the journey either.

Anthos

Upon landing upon the Shadowcoast in Anthos, later than the rest of the Noble Houses of the Holy Orenian Empire, Tristan Amador began to use the family's accrued wealth from their construction of the Imperial fleet to ingratiate himself with Lord Farley II of the House of Stafyr, then Lord of Schattenburg & King Heinrik I of the Kingdom of Oren. King Heinrik I refused the Imperial Mantle humbly, preferring to be titled a King. In the 1439 Edict of Ireton, James Amador, Tristan's son, was granted the Barony of the Shadowcoast, situated on the coastline between Schattenburg and the land of Furnestock. After swearing their loyalty to the newly elevated Count Farley Stafyr, their new liege lord, House of Amador to reemerged into Oren politics and Nobility. Unfortunately, James' father, Tristan died two years later.

Now ennobled at the Baron of the Shadowcoast, the Amadors became renowned for their part in helping Count Farley of the House of Stafyr in the Third Urguan-Oren War. Arthur Amador, Son of Jack II Amador, saw action leading forces in the Battle of Shadowcastle & was granted a holy squirehood within the Church of the Canon for his services, going on to serve in the bombardment at the Siege of Thoringrad, earning him a Holy Knighthood.

The House of Amador's main exports during this period remained as Lumber suppliers to the Kingdom and later Empire of Oren, as well as picking up a new trade as horse ranchers. Amador Cavalry is documented by the House of Stafyr as being used for patrolling the County of Schattenburg. However, it is notable that, during this period of history, the total wealth of the House of Amador greatly diminished, in order to maintain their influence and gain a foothold in Orenian politics. A theme that would continue later into the future when other Houses and Nations abused the wealth of the House of Amador.

The Zionist War

In 1455, the Dwarves of the Grand Kingdom of Urguan, the Orcs of Krugmar, and Elves of Malin & the Kingdom of Alras, signed a coalition pact known as The Treaty of Zion. Fearing the continuing political prowess of the King of Oren, Heinrik I of the House of Carrion, these nations of what would become known as the 'Zionist Pact' grew anxious of a new Empire subjugating them. Hostilities broke out soon after, with the war being known for its large-scale raiding and skirmishes in between major battles. A loss for the Kingdom of Oren at the Battle of the Orcish Field, in which the House of Amador is not known to have been present, led to Grand King Wulfgar Grandaxe demanding that King Heinrik abdicate. Refusing, King Heinrik I returned to battle & was killed in 1456. His Successor would not last.

During this tumult, the House of Amador, along with it's liege in the House of Stafyr were known to have taken part in the Siege of Mount Augustus, a heavily fortified stronghold defending from the Zions. Ser Arthur Amador, a Knight of the Church of the Canon was known to have participated, but mentions of James are lost to history.

Civil War

In the Midst of the of the Zionist War, Franz-Josef Carrion, uncle of King Heinrik I, was crowned by a Common Priest, who supposedly impersonated the High Pontiff Regulus. Failing to recognise him as the successor of King Heinrik I & insulted by this failed impersonation, The Order of Saint Lucien rebelled and attacked the coronation ceremony in retribution. The Kingdom of Oren, already beset by foes, erupted into civil war. The Houses of Winter, Stafyr & Horen joined the Order of Saint Lucien against the House of Carrion, leading James & the House of Amador to follow their Liege lord into rebellion. In retalitation for the slights against his Coronation, King Franz-Josef I raised Peter Pavel to High Pontiff, pushing aside High Pontiff Regulus. He becomes known as the anti-pontiff. Seeking the re-establishment of his authority, High Pontiff Regulus led the Rebels and soon pontifical forces seize the City of Vekaro. King Franz I and much of his Privy Council council were murdered & the final battle of the Orenian Civil War simultaneously coincided with the end of the Zionist pact at the Siege of Mount Augustus.

Devastated by years of war, both internal and external, the people within the largest city in Anthos, Abresi, witness a Miracle, in which an apparition of Saint Godfrey Horen reveals himself to the masses, declaring the popular War Hero, Peter Chivay, as Emperor of the Third Imperium. With this Spiritual Authority given to him, Peter I, Holy Orenian Emperor ends the Zionist & Civil war, starting the Third Imperium of the Holy Orenian Empire.

The Third Imperium

Sadly, Sources from 1456 to 1482 of the First Age appear to be scarce.

It is known that, upon the Coronation of Peter I as Holy Orenian Emperor, James Amador swore his noble vows alongside Count Farley II of the House of Stafyr.

However, Lord Farley of the House of Stafyr was subsequently removed from his position on the privy council in the following months, as Peter I, Holy Orenian Emperor restructured the Second Imperium into the Third. With his loss of influence, it would appear that the House of Amador appear to have lost theirs. James Amador, who had participated in some of the fighting with his Cousin, Arthur Amador, appears to have settled into the ruling of the Barony of the Shadowcoast.

In 1482, James Amador died around the age of 67. His cause of death was unknown. He left no surviving heir and no marriage certificate survives. His cousin Ser Arthur Amador became the Patriarch of the House of Amador, but did not pursue noble title. Despite this, the line of Ruslan Soulblade continued on as merchants and self-made men, working for other nobles as stewards and bannermen.

Athera & Vailor

Arthur the Second, Mercenary & Commander of the Honour Guard to the Archduke of Lotharingia

Following the fall of the House in Asulon the Main-line of the House following Tristan Amador was extinguished, as James Amador had no wife and children. The Amadors of the second son, Jack II Amador had gone into service for the Church of the Canon and, while not excluding them from the right to the House's Patriarchy, persuaded them to follow their sercive to the Church. Thus, line of Ruslan Soulblade & Joan Amador found themselves in obscurity, working as Stewards for other noble houses and as bannermen, struggling to garner reknown and reenter the noble peerage. As a result, the Amador fortune began to dwindle as attempted to support each successive generation. It is known, however, that they answered the loyalist call to arms, joining the Savoyard forces in the Dukes' War.

In 1483, Ser Arthur I Amador, appears in the employ of the Church of the Canon during the Schism War until 1491. However, details of his actions during this war are lost. He died in the service of the Church of the Canon aged 78 in 1512. He had one son outside of wedlock which took his name: Arthur the Second in 1508 of the First Age. A Highlander boy, the younger Arthur would learn nothing of his father or his ancient lineage. Born an orphan to an unknown mother, Arthur the Second was brought up a scurrilous street-urchin on in the streets of the Felsen. This mercilessly hard upbringing forged Arthur the Second's personality as a ruthless & unforgiving (verging on sadistic) bully.

After becoming unwelcome in regular society during his teenage years, Arthur rode out into the wilderness, rarely patrolled by the Fifth Empire. He soon happened upon a new profession and became a Dunamis Mercenary, for similarly hard-done-by individuals happy to loot, steal and pillage their way to fame and fortune. Among these companions in arms were the Blackwoods, a similarly disenfranchised group who grew to trust Arthur and made him their leader. During this time, he had a child also named Arthur, who would later serve as a mercenary and have his own children: Arthur IV Amador & Christopher Amador

In 1545, a written Request for Arthur's Extradition was made by the Imperial Prince of the Holy Orenian Empire, John Sigismund. However, it would appear that, despite the serious nature of these charges, Arthur was able to escape extradition. Instead, not long after, he appeared in the record to have been accepted into the service of the House d'Amaury, Archdukes of Lorraine/Lotharingia, serving as Commander of the Archduke's honor guard for a brief period until, in 1547 Arthur was killed in battle, by a spear impaled through his torso.

Following back on the line of Ruslan Soulblade, the Amadors garnered a small mercantile company that supplied the Dukes' War & the Schism War. The profits generated from the company would turn out to be prosperous enough to allow the Amadors to maintain their standard of living and educate their children in stewardry, law and the Church of the Canon. What would later become hallmarks of Amadorian upbringing.

Axios

House Coat of Arms from Axios

Alongside the rest of the Holy Orenian Empire, the Amadors traveled to the Isles of Axios, determined to make their re-entry into the noble scene. They were welcomed by Duke Peter of Haense into the nobility of Haense, enfeoffing Ruslan I Amador with the Barony of Mondstadt, a title which the Amadors held throughtout early Axios History.

Ramdir Amador was most well known for his marriage with Anna Sophia, who would later gain infamy when she claimed the Crown of Lotharingia and be name Queen Anna of Lotharingia. She spent a majority of her time down south in the Kingdom of Lotharingia, within the Barony of Ostwick after her marriage. A retreat for the family when they wished to

In 1595, Owyn Amador became the Baron of Mondstadt. He kept up decent relations within the Kingdom of Lotharingia by hiring a commoner within his lands called Aylwin Blaxton (who would later write an extensive memoir of his time with the Amadors), to manage the relationship between the Haenseni-Ruskan Vassal and the Southern Kingdom. In the first decade of the 17th century, a minor scandal rocked the Amador's relationship with the Crown of Haense when Owyn and Aylwin were dragged before the court to answer crimes of conspiracy with the Kingdom of Lotharingia. In truth, the Amadors were seeking trading opportunities within the Kingdom of Lotharingia and, upon discovering the truth of this, Marius I of Haense pardoned the pair.

Owyn would later be elevated within the Northern Nobility and officially engaged Adrijana Kovachev of Carnatia in 1602, they later married and had Four children: Henrik I Amador, Ruslan II Amador, Diana & Jack. The former two would later become Patriarchs of House Amador in their own right, whereas Jack Amador would later become High Pontiff Clement III.

During the Reign of Marius I of Haense, the Kingdom of Haense suffered a terrible defeat in the Great Northern War. As consequence of the bitter defeat, the victorious Courlandic forces requested the ceding of Mondstadt to their territory, thus forcing the Amadors off their Ancestral seat. The patriarch would lose a hand during this war and history would come to know him as Owyn "Iron-fist" Amador, after receiving a gauntleted prosthetic. He moved the family down south to the Kingdom of Lotharingia, to the safety of his mother's lands in Ostwick, whilst he travelled to Courland to petition the return of his lands and other realms in search of the means to support his family.

Eventually, Owyn was able to purchase some land in the marshlands of the south known as Blackfen, where he would begin to erect a new castle, later called Blackfen. Unfortunately for Owyn, the endeavor proved too costly and he sought aid from the the Duke of Mardon, Peter Sigismund. The Duke offered to take the incomplete keep of Blackfen in exchange for the County of Gravelhold and Owyn's Fealty. Desperate, Owyn agreed. It wasn't all bad though. Owyn, Count of Gravelhold, was given a new home for his family and a Vassal - His former advisor, Aylwin Blaxton, who had been ennobled by the Duke as the Viscount of Brabant with his Wife, Erin Lockley. Owyn "Iron-fist" Amador, died of stroke in 1615. Henrik, the new Count of Gravelhold and Patriarch was all of twelve years of age.

Imperium Sextus

Count Henrik Amador, Marshal of the Empire

Not too long after this transition of power, Emperor Peter II Sigismund Horen (the former Duke) proclaimed the Sixth Holy Orenian Empire with his now-integrated Allies House Amador received the Emperor Peter's patronage during this time, Jack was ordained into the Canonist Church and his younger Twin, Ruslan, made the Empire's Steward. Henrik his Deputy Constable of the Sixth Imperium Legion, eventually making him a Marshal. However, this patronage came at a steep price; Henrik was now effectively in command of a peacetime Army whose upkeep he had to personally maintain with Amador Mina. Nonetheless, Henrik was happy. He was a stern disciplinarian, outwardly cold in appearance, but a fair taskmaster.

Henrik eventually married Artemis Palaiologos, the daughter of a Duke of Mystra and Grandaughter of the King of Santegia. It was a loving married and the Count lavished his wife with jewellery and gifts that remain Amador heirlooms to this day.

War would come to dominate Henrik's adult life. After reforming the Legion Imperium Sextus, tensions between the Dwarven clans, as well as internal strife against the Romstuns, became the focus of the Imperium. Civil war broke out in Urguan & the true king sought Imperial aid. Henrik, now Twenty-Eight years old was Marshal of the Legions, was presumed to be the war leader, but given his young age Emperor Peter opted for an older war veteran. Spurned, Henrik resigned as Marshal and joined his comrades in the battlefield. Henrik Ramdir Amador died of his wounds in 1631 on the field of honour. Ruslan II succeeded him, however little is known past this point.

Atlas

The story of House Amador in Atlas is far from the tales of its more glorious and prestigious past. Due to mismanagement and poor leadership, the house fell into disarray. Slowly, its power dwindled and its status withered away. The final blow that ended Amador power in Atlas, tore the House apart and later cost them their status as Haensetian nobility, was a failed banking adventure, that ended up deminishing all of the House's wealth and made them a bit of a laughing stock, especially to those who'd taken loans from the House and now saw them powerless to demand their money back.

In the last few years of Atlas however, a young man who had not yet shed his family name rose from the shadows to lay claim to the family name. Henrik Amador, styling himself Henrik II, was of a lesser branch of the family and initially not the heir of the House. His granduncle Ruslan II however was the man holding the family title of Patriarch until he died childless at an old age. This then meant Henrik II suddenly had the right to claim the Patriarch title for himself and so he did, ruling over an essentially powerless family in the waning days of Atlas.

Arcas

Upon arriving in Arcas, the ambitious and young Henrik II went to work on regaining whatever there was to regain for his seemingly lost House. He eventually managed to take back the nobility status of House Amador and married a Santegian princess, Tamar of Biscay, with whom he had four sons: Ruslan, Albert, Edvard and Karl. Not long after these first successes however, Henrik became sick with an unknown disease, probably believed to be tuberculosis. The young family of six could not find a medic in Arcas capable of healing Henrik, but heard there were doctors in Aeldin that could, before setting sail for the faraway continent. After many years, the Amadors returned to Arcas, their Patriarch having survived his disease, but by now being an old man and a mere shadow of his youthful, energetic self. However, Henrik II refused to perish before regaining Nobility. Thus he hard alongside his children and their cousin to regain their Nobility. They carried out a variety of tasks such as: ship building, resource gathering, and more. The Amadors also started to get into Government positions. Rennard quickly became the High Steward and worked diligently to ensure the Kingdom would prosper. Edvard worked alongside Rennard as a Steward, and later succeeded him. Due to the hard work of Henrik II, his sons, and their cousin they regained their lost Nobility within a few short years. Once again they were Lords of Haense, and Barons of Mondstadt. Even after regaining their Nobility, the Amadors continued to work hard and have obtained a variety of different positions. Some of the positions that were held by house members are: High Steward, High Seneschal, Lord Treasurer x2, Speaker of the House of Lords, Member of the House of Commons (x2), and more.

Ruslan I Amador - First Baron of Mondstadt within the Kingdom of Haense, one of the principal bannermen of Duke Peter of Haense that assisted with the formation of the Kingdom.

Clement III - Clement III was a High Pontiff from House Amador that functioned as leader of the Canonist Church until 1648.

Henrik II Amador - Grandson of the Henrik I of House Amador and great, great, great grandson of the Ruslan I of House Amador who began the title Baron of Mondstadt. Henrik II worked hard to bring back House Amador, which nearly disappeared. He worked together with his four sons: Ruslan, Albert, Edvard and Karl and their cousin, Rennard Amador. They all worked tirelessly for years on various projects for the Government of Haense in an attempt to regain their Noble status. Their attempt was successful and Henrik II was bestowed the title the Baron of Mondstadt.
