Godden Ruric, also known as Godden I (10th of Snow’s Maiden, 1651 – Present) of the House of Ruric was the Eleventh reigning King of Norland, since the abdication of his father, Jory Ruric. He reigned from 1651 to 1662 until eventually being conquered by the Crown of Renatus-Marna during the Atlas Coalition War, he then would reign as 'Jarl of Ashwood' for around one year directly after the war, until two of his most trusted men would coup Ashwood from beneath his feet.

Biography

Early life

At the Tender age of four, Godden began the arduous process to master the art of sword under the teachings of his father, Jory Ruric. As the date of his coronation soon approached, Godden was hard at work on improving his commanding skills, soon becoming rather adept in the study of the art at the ripe young age of Sixteen. However, putting these skills into practice would prove to be a much more difficult task. Before rising to the throne he was briefly appointed marshal of the Norlandic military, where he would oversee its refurbishment and upkeep. In the beginning Godden struggled, as it was his first time dealing with the strains and concerns that come with all such positions where men must be led, but as time went on he soon began to adjust to the lifestyle and responsibilities of a Norlandic commander. It was merely a few months later that Jory Ruric abdicated the throne to Godden.

Reign

In the early months of his reign, Godden was set upon the task of renewing the Norlandic Ashguard, And returning it to its former glory. During this part of his reign he fully completed the construction of Jornburg, alongside Joana Silversteed.
It was then that Godden Ruric, having done well to rebuild the Norlandic military, saw it necessary for a new military order be implemented. Having it once served the great Javier Ruric, the Rurikguard was then reintroduced. After a period of relative peace, and of heavy stockpiling within the Norlandic armory, tensions yet again began to rise between the Kingdom of Norland and the Crown of Renatus-Marna, which culminated with the Norlanders taking action against the diplomat sent from Renatus by hanging him from their Ashtree. Godden Ruric saw that war would soon be upon them, and he began talks with Karl, the current ruling King of Haense, as well as the High Elven leader Cenwall Maeyr’onn. Soon these leaders came to an agreement that this foe known as Renatus must perish, thus forming the United Southern Alliance, (U.S.A for short). Godden sent small groups of Norlandic men to bandit and raid N.A.A settlements and roads, believing that it would serve as a means to strip morale from all currently a part of it, though a few nations were excluded, as Godden and his allies were currently in talks with them. Godden then began to call all banners to the Norlandic capital of Ruriksgrad. Eventually tensions would boil over, with Renatus and the N.A.A. believing that the Norlandic kingdom was more of a pest than Kingdom of Haense. They then marched alongside their allies to see the Norlandic people destroyed. This was something Godden could not stand for, and he began the necessary preparations with his allies.
