Frederick Baden

Frederick Alexander Baden was a Renatian Knight, Privy Councillor and politician, who served as Prefect of Carolustadt later Helena from 1700 to 1715 and then Privy Seal from 1715 until 1718 under Godfrey III. He was the son of former Privy Councillor for Peter II, Thomas Edward Baden.

Biography
Early life
Frederick was born in Pronce, Aeldin, in 1686 as the only child of an elderly Thomas Baden. Frederick’s father had grown wealthy in Aeldin, but he never got to enjoy his father’s riches, as he was sent to Atlas to fight in Third Atlas Coalition War, where he fought in both the Siege of Nordengrad and the Siege of San'Kala at the mere age of five. He fought only with a dagger that he had been given by his father prior to his departure, as he was not able to lift a sword properly yet. After Nordengrad, he became a squire and went on many quests. During their quests in their youth, he became good friends with Seth Renault, who would later marry Ophelia Horen before they’d both disappear.
Knight of the Empire
When he reached the age of eighteen, Frederick became a Knight Errant of the Empire of Man. He led multiple expeditions on Atlas, especially north to fight in the Vaeyl Wars. He was wounded towards the end of the Vaeyl Wars and unable to fight, but instead of going directly to Arcas, he went to Aeldin to visit his dying father. After his father’s death, he moved to Arcas, only to realise that most of his friends had either died or disappeared. He moved to the Imperial Capital, Helena, who’s namesake he had a good friendship with. He finally became a Knight of the Realm in 1710, when the Order of Pertinax was formed, where he acted as the Knight Paramount, Aldis Chase’s, right hand.
Political career
Frederick enjoyed a long and successful political career in the Imperial Parliament, spanning an entire fifteen years from 1700 to 1715, where he retired from politics to focus on the War of Two Emperors. He initially ran as an Independent, but later joined the Imperial Preservation Party, but his thoughts and ideology remained very different from that of the IPP.
He was first elected to Imperial Parliament in 1700 as Prefect of Carolustadt as a result of 1700 By-Election. He did not stand to gain the seat initially, but as Gleb was disqualified for not being a citizen of Carolustadt, the seat instead fell to him. After that, he continued to serve as Prefect of Carolustadt until 1705, and later Helena between 1705 and 1715. After his retirement from Imperial Parliament in 1715, he would serve as Privy Seal of Godfrey III until his death. He wrote a Manifesto after his retirement, but it was not released until three years after his death.
War of Two Emperors and Death
When the War of Two Emperors started, Frederick swore his loyalty to Godfrey III and the Pertinax faction, even though his father had served the Johannians. On the 10th of Godfrey’s Triumph 1716, he married Anastasia Capet in a small ceremony in the Imperial Palace of Helena performed by the former High Pontiff Pontian II. He fought in the Siege of Helena, while victorious in the battle, he suffered many injures. It is said that he had rushed so far behind enemy lines that he was found unconscious in the enemy's camp. He was awarded the title "Draughtsman of Renatus" for his efforts in preparation for the siege. His firstborn child, Seth Aurelius Baden, was born on the 9th of Harren's Folley, 1716. He later had twins, Thomas Aldis and Adriana Nicole in 1718. He had an affair with Annemarie de Cantwell which resulted in the birth of their daughter, Theodosia Maria.
He was captured by Holy Orenian troops while building a War Memorial outside of Helena on the 2nd of Owyn's Flame in 1718. On the 3rd of Owyn's Flame, he was executed by Caius II of Marna on the orders of Joseph of Marna.

Frederick’s manifesto was released posthumously, after having been recovered from his home after his death in 1718.
