A feral is a wolf, which can return its form to it's past race when desired. These creatures serve the one who created them, Mani, Morea Demigod of the Wild and Prince of the Wolves and Hounds. They can turn others into these creatures if they so desire, and hunt in packs. Once one has joined them, they are forever part of the pack.

Origin

A long time ago, during the creating of the four deities, a group of hunter wandered the realm killing for sport and pleasure. The group was of four men, who hunted in what remained of the elder woods of the realm. Their particular game to hunt was wild canines, consisting of wolves, who wandered aimlessly within their pack. This group of huntsman were keen on living off the land, being experienced bowmen and expert trackers. The group planned a hunting trip of merely a few days, hoping to come home with pelts beyond the counting. Only a day into the trip the group begin to loose their barrings. With the thickness of the forest, hiding the stars, the group had to reside on the moss of trees to guide them home. They followed it aimlessly, soon discovering it lead them in circles. They began to panic, wandering deeper into the elder woods.

As they continued their delve deeper into the woods, they came upon a small cave. As night fell, the small fire cast shadows on the walls. Soon they began to hear rustling on the near by brush, and a wild howl. As they looked towards the cave entrance, a large wolf growled down towards them, let outing a howl as a pack of small canines appeared behind the creature. It let out another unnatural howl as the men began to transform, their noses becoming snouts and their nails becoming claws. Soon their bodies were covered in matted hair, as their teeth protruded from their gums, sharping into canine fangs. Thousands of smells flooded their nostrils, as their eyes begin to turn a golden color. Their iris began to widen, increasing their sight.

After their transformation, the large wolf revealed its ethereal form to be the Mani, Morea Demigod of the Wild and Prince of the Wolves and Hounds. Morea cast this curse upon the men, for their actions against the wolves of nature. Morea tasked the new creatures, the task of protecting the woodlands. They were allowed to return to their descendant phase. They were required still to sleep, hunt, and protect beside their new brethren. As they ventured out of the clearing near the cave, they began killing other men for creeping onto their land. These men bestowed the name feral, upon the creatures. Due to their blood lust, and killing nature. As the creatures wandered out of the clearing more, they craved to turn others. This was another gift bestowed by Morea, the gift to turn others.

As time begin to pass, the ferals begin to disappear as it would seem. Men began to continue to create their cities, soon forgetting of this creature. Many began to believe it as an old wives tale, something to scare the little children into venturing deep into the woods.

Characteristics

  • Strength : The Feral shows strength much like a wolf or canine, muscle structure and tendons become strengthened to better allow clawing and brutal thrashing. Their jaw like strength is able to snap a bone should they latch onto an unpadded or unarmored piece of flesh. However, their teeth are unable to bite through any sort of metal but can dent the metal to latch onto the material. Their claws are able to cause deep cuts in flesh but not metal or metal plate.
  • Agility : Very much like their canine companions, the speed of a Feral is often compared to a deer or hound. The pad on the bottom of their feet allow them to traverse over tough landscapes. Due to their hind legs binding, they are able to walk much like a horse on all fours.
  • Smell : A feral can smell blood or scents from a great distance away. (20 Blocks). Due to the size of their snouts, a Feral is able to connect a scent with a substance or creature which improves their hunting capabilities for whatever prey they’re seeking to hunt.
  • Vision : Due to the ocular growth of the Feral, their pupils grow much larger, which in turn allows them to see the world more clearly. They’re able to see quick movements and sometimes even heartbeats if it is rapid enough.

Behavior

During their hunts, ferals can be viscous. Lashing out at anything that might cross their path, weather it be a humanoid or a simple animal. After feeding however, the ferals will become more passive. They will be more docile to others.

Weaknesses

Please note: The following information is scarcely known. Do not metagame to know this information unless directly informed in-character.
  • Silver : A material that hurts both the soul and the physical body of the Feral. It appears as an extremely bright glowing object to the creature and causes them to reject anything with the object. It also lead to the tainted blood of the Feral to sizzle and boil if made contact with the substance.
  • High Pitched Sounds : Due to their canine counterpart, a feral has a sensitive to high pitch sounds. However, should a high pitched sound be emitted then it could possibly sedate or cause the creature to pass out due to the stress caused by auditory on the pressure of their brains.
  • Fire : Flame is anyone worst enemy, yet even more so for a Feral. Their increased eyesight allows flames to blind the Feral temporarily when put too close to the ocular area of the Ferals. The contrast of light on the golden scleroses of the eyeball allows the reflection to cause the eyelids to glaze over with a thick coat of slime from the eyelids in order to protect the creature from losing its sight, but this temporarily blinding the creature. As well the dry and matted hair of the Feral is easily set alight by the tiniest touch of flame due to the dry properties of its coat.
  • Bright Flashes : During the night, a sudden burst of an electrical evolutionist's magic could cause the Feral to become blinded for a few minutes (3 emotes). Due to the fact that the Feral must readjust to the dark setting it is in and it’s eyes are meant for slow changes in light, not fast. This can as well be attuned to their weakness with fire and silver.
  • Commune and Control : A Druid is able to commune with the primal beast that is a Feral and can entrance the creature into a meditative state which can depend on the Feral’s mental strain and appetite. Through commune, the Druid can sooth the creature back into its descendant form to prevent any further destruction from happening to the creature or to those near it.
  • Can not use Weapons : Due to the large size of a ferals hands in their transformed stage, it can not wield a weapon. As well the muscle structure does not support the swinging of weapons, such as swords or axes.
  • Inability to wield Magic : While in their transformed state, a Feral is unable to use magic due to their brain being reversed to a more primate state. Although they can recognize scents and faces, the ability to use their magic whether it be Druidic, Dark, or Arcane, is near impossible. The Creature is not able to tap into their mana pool or concentrate enough to wield such magics.
  • Transformation : During a transformation into or out of their lupine bodies, a Feral enters a state of immobility and is unable to defend itself while transforming into our out of their creature form. This leaves the creature vulnerable to any strike during their (4 full emote) transformation.
  • Exhaustion : After their form is reverted, the feral will become extremely tired and weakened. They become unable to transform for the rest of that day.
  • Weakness to Gold : Due to the alteration of the soul and the affliction of the burden on the soul, gold is extremely painful to the creature when it is used on the Feral much like that of other corrupt creatures.
  • Weak to Holy Magics : The affliction of the Ferals make their soul undoubtedly corrupt by nature, in turn Deification magics such as the Ascended Arts, Clerical Arts, and Xannic Arts can cause the same effect on the feral as it would to a ghoul or other creature with a corrupt soul.
  • Feeding : A feral whom has not consumed flesh or blood in an extended period of time is subject to sudden and random transformations. Their traits become more prominent when in their descendant phase. Lack of feasting causes irritations, rashes, joint pain, and mental strain on the creature.

Redlines

  • During the transformation, the feral can not attack nor defend itself.
  • The ritual to become a feral must be done willingly, and by the blessing of the alpha.
  • While transformed, a feral can communicate but it will not be like a regular descendant.
  • Once transformed, a feral can not use magic or wield weapons.
  • A feral is just a shadow of it's former self when transformed.
