Biography

Early Life

Evar'tir Oranor was born to an unassuming mother and an absentee father - Mithras Sylvaeri - in 1600 FA. He quickly left home, finding food, board, and employ with his brother, Velenius, under the Falling Horizon's Guild, lead by Hareven Lorenthus. He remained with the guild until it's eventual disbandment mid-Axios. He turned to mercenary work and oddjobs to make ends meet until the exodus from the Axiosian continent.

Military Career

In the early settlement and colonization of Atlas, Evar'tir Oranor found himself at the gates of the Dominion of Malin's capital, Caras Eldar after having been exiled from the Trade Federation for internal disputes. He was swiftly recruited into the rank and file of the Virarim by Titania Hawksong, and participated in a series of military campaigns to secure the Loftywoods from foreign settlement. Evar'tir spent much of his time as a foot soldier and guardsman, and fought in almost every major military engagement the Dominion fought. His steadfast nature lead to a meteoric rise to power within the Virarim, and upon Kairn Ithelanen's ascension to the throne, he was appointed the Praetor of Elves, and served as a field marshal for many major continental conflicts, most notably the Siege of San'kala. Evar'tir undertook several judicial obligations during this time, and heavily favoured the use of military tribunals and martial law to ensure order. Upon his resignation from military command as Praetor, he fully assumed the responsibilities as the judicial arm of the government. Evar'tir served as Lord Exarch until the incorporation of the Dominion of Malin under the Kingdom of Gladewynn on the 11th of Sun’s Smile, 1690.

The Crown of Elvenesse

The Crown of Elvenesse (Colloquially "Elvenesse") was the result of the unification of the Irrinites of Siramenor and the Almenodrim of Aegrothond. The settlement onto Almaris brought on an age of prosperity for the united peoples for many years, despite foreign aggression from the War Nation of Krugmar, Haelun'or, and Camlannen Keep.

Reign as High Prince

Upon the abdication of Fëanor Sylvaeri, Elvenesse was thrust into a period of internal strife and uncertainty regarding the succession of the High Princeship. A vocal minority of the populace found itself at odds with the seated councillors, including Evar'tir, whom was endorsed by his predecessor for the position. After a brief, yet tumultuous series of proceedings, Oranor and his councillors ratified his claim to the throne, and on the the 1st of Snow's Maiden, 22 SA, Evar'tir Oranor ascended to the High Princeship. He was coronated just over a year after his triumph, and immediately continued Cullas Sylvaeri's efforts to foster relations with allies across Almaris. Evar'tir's reign proved an uphill battle, as foreign powers sought to test the newly crowned High Prince's resolve. However short lived, alliance with Elvenesse's silver cousins proved fruitful, allowing Elvenesse to engage in military campaigns both against The Trade Federation of Sutica, and the War Nation of Krugmar.

While hostilities continued abroad with Krugmar, an attempted ousting and internal revolt was brought to heel by Evar'tir and his forces. A series of internal coup plots culminated in the form of the burning of the Tahorran clan's docks, and the massacre of the conspirators within the throne room. Following this, relations improved with many external powers, including the rest of Elvenkind. In turn, Haelun'or once more distanced itself from the rest of the Elven states, whom sought to restore pacts of Malin'or to allow for an united front. Though inevitably proved an errant effort; one of the last acts of of Evar'tir Oranor as High Prince of Elvenesse was to conscribe the state's fealty towards a greater united Elvendom.

The final years of Evar'tir's rule proved far less eventful than the previous years, and a once more declining region proved difficult to maintain. Eager to retire after over a half century of ruling, urged especially by his wife Medli, Evar'tir abdicated the throne on the 10th of The Grand Harvest, 78 SA. Following Evar'tir's departure from power, the nation spiraled into a derelict state for decades, left largely unattended by an administrative body following a series of missteps taken by his successor. The throne was assumed by Idril Sylvaeri on the 4th of The First Seed, 111 SA, nearly 34 years after his abdication.

The Sanctum of Illivira

In the heart of Amaethea, rapid changes that modern elvendom brought drowned out the serenity and simplicity that had once defined elvendom. Deeply nostalgic for the days of the youth, when her people held what she believed to be a greater sense of community and moral value, Evar'tir and Medli felt a yearning to return to an unornamented age. Gathering a band of like-minded elves who shared their disillusionment with the modern era of elvendom, they embarked on a journey to the tranquil coastal regions of Oswin. While Evar’tir decided to enjoy a period of retirement, Medli maintained her role as a guardian, establishing the Sanctum and fostering her people.
