Edvard Amador was born on the 6th of The Grand Harvest in the year 1732 of the First Age to Henrik II Amador, Baron of Mondstadt and Tamar of Biscay. For as long as the man could remember, he had an obsession with minas, and obtaining it. In the year Seventeen Fifty of the First Age, he became a Steward and this marked the beginning of his service to the Kingdom of Hanseti-Ruska. The man would continue to hold a variety of high positions related to money such as High Seneschal and Royal Treasurer. Due to his obsession with minas and actions he takes pursuing it, he was dubbed the nickname 'The Tax Man', and would be known by all throughout the Kingdom. Alas, no matter how much money the man would collect no amount would ever satisfy him. Even when reaching goals that some men and women could only dream of, he still wasn't satisfied. His taste for minas knew no bounds. Postmortem he was also given the nickname 'The Golden Banker'.

Personality

Edvard was a man who prioritized money and resources above all and acted mainly with these things in mind. He truly believed that if he makes money for himself, his family, and his Kingdom then it will bring him great happiness, and joy. Although no matter how many minas he made, he was never satisfied. In his efforts to gain money, he's done a variety of different methods. Edvard acts without mercy in his pursuit of wealth and has evicted orphanages, homeless shelters, countless other properties that weren't generating revenue. Although he was tough and merciless at times, he was quite kind to his fellow Haeseni people and those wishing to move into the Kingdom. The man had a deep pride in his country and did whatever he could to ensure that it succeeded.

Appearance

Edvard was a six foot tall man with dark blue eyes and black hair. Although in his later years, his hair would start to turn grey. The man also had a scruffy unkempt beard. Edvard can be seen wearing a few different outfits, although most of them are blue to show off one of the two family colours. The outfits he is most commonly spotted wearing are the family's armor, which bares the Lorraine Cross, or a white shirt with a blue coat.

Titles & Positions

Since a young age, Edvard believed that hard work and excellent contributions was the way to live your life. So as soon as he got his first position as a Steward of New Reza, he vowed to himself to ascend the career ladder and to always be employed, putting in excessive amounts of effort until his death. His drive led to the man holding a variety of different titles and positions throughout his lifetime. The man started as a simple Steward but quickly ascended to High Steward, then Seneschal, and finally to Lord Treasurer. Along his career path, he picked up a few other positions and titles such as HauchKossar of the Order of Queen Maya and the Lily, and was a Member of the House of Commons. Upon his retirement as Lord Treasurer, the man retired his own life just a few short days later.

Steward (1750-1807)

Edvard Amador was appointed to the position of Steward in the year 1750. This marked the beginning to his great ambitions to move up the Government hierarchy. Upon the second of his appointment, he reviewed the ledgers and got to work. He went around selling houses to countless citizens who needed them but were backlogged due to what he believed was the laziness of his co-workers and unnecessary bureaucracy getting in the way. The man would also travel around finding those in need of a home and convincing them to migrate to Haense as well as getting them established within the nation. After many years of hard work, he would be promoted to High Seneschal and later in his Stewardry career, High Seneschal. Edvard would continue serving as a Steward his entire life, even when he was Treasurer. Eventually he retired as a Steward, but only a few months before his death.

High Steward; High Seneschal (1758-1770; 1770-1776)

After his cousin Rennard retired from the position of High Steward in the year 1758, the Crown decided that Edvard was the best choice to succeed him. During Edvard's tenure as High Steward, he did wonders for the Kingdoms tax income, increasing it many times over. He was merciless in his endeavor to make the Kingdom money. Any who dared to not pay taxes were kicked out of their properties and were left to roam the streets. Although this may seem like a terrible deed, it did indeed accomplish its goal. Those who didn't pay taxes would be replaced by those who did. Those who paid late wouldn't pay late anymore or wouldn't pay as late because of fear of being evicted. No matter who you were, or what your circumstances were if you couldn't pay then Edvard would take it away. Homeless shelters, holy men, orphanages, and countless other properties were evicted in the man's pursuit for money. Although he was merciless, he was not unreasonable. If you paid late with good reason, then he would extend the date before your next collection. During his time as High Steward, he also worked on a variety of projects such as the New Reza city expansion, among many others. After many years of service, in the year 1770 of the First Age, King Sigismund II noticed the man's hard work and ascended the High Steward title to High Seneschal during the Council Reforms. From that moment on, Edvard's dedication was stronger than ever before and he continued his hard work to ensure the Kingdoms success.

Knight of the Order of Queen Maya and the Lily (1769-1807)

During his tenure as High Seneschal, his Majesty King Sigismund II bestowed Edvard Amador Knighthood for his hard work and bountiful contributions to the Government. This allowed Edvard to call himself Sir Edvard Amador, and add the letters KML after his name to show that he was a Kossar of the order of Queen Maya and the Lily. Upon the retirement of his second Aulic position after decades of service, King Heinrik II knighted the loyal man again, marking him a HauchKossar of the order of Queen Maya and the Lily. This allowed Edvard to display the letters HKML after his name. This honor is only bestowed to those who have had multiple significant contributions to the Crown. Receiving this honor made the old man overjoyed as his hard work over the many decades was recognized.

Royal Treasurer: (1776-1811)

Edvard was appointed to the position of Royal Treasurer in the year 1776 of the First Age by the Lord Regent, Konstantin Wick. His efforts as High Seneschal were recognized by Konstantin and the other Aulic Council members. So upon hearing of Edvard's planned retirement, and search of a new job, they thought that he would be the perfect fit to succeed Rennard. Once appointed, Edvard wasted no time, and quickly got to work on a new treasury ledger and started to review the current financial state of the Kingdom. The man would continue working hard as he did previously, ensuring that the Kingdom had a plentiful amounts of money and resources.

Member of the House of Commons (1786)

In the year 1786, Edvard Amador was elected to the House of Commons, a legislative body in the Holy Orenian Empire. His hope was to ensure the interests of the Haeseni people. However, his tenure was ended abruptly. During his first session, he left halfway through to attend an important meeting with the King of Hanseti-Ruska, Josef I, and his other closest advisers and Knights. During this meeting at the Imperial Palace, their Imperial Majesties Empress Anne I and Emperor Joseph II of the Holy Orenian Empire declared the Kingdom of Hanseti-Ruska to be an Independent State, no longer under the Empire. This led to all the Haeseni people losing their seats in the House of Commons, thus ending the brief tenure of Edvard's time in the House of Commons.

Random Historical Events

The Trade of Ed Roberts, 1722

It was just another day for Edvard Amador, as he went about his regular duties as Lord Treasurer, when someone would approach him. The person in question was asking for help to acquire a property in New Reza, as they wished to migrate to Haense. Edvard happily obliged and took them around the Royal Capital, showing them the various available properties, and explaining how the cities property tax worked. A deal was struck, and the house would be sold. Unfortunately for Edvard, this wouldn't be another business-as-usual day, as several bandits appeared as the transaction was being finalized.

The bandits were out for blood and wished for a fight, and thus they came forth at the Treasurer. Edvard put up the best fight that he could, but unfortunately he had forgotten his trusty blade in his office early in the day, and thus he would be captured despite his efforts. His captures would interrogate him, as they attempted to deduce his identity to find out how much to ransom him for. Edvard would remain tight-lipped and gave them nothing but a fake name, Ed Roberts. With the fake name, the bandits would write up a missive which they sent via bird to New Reza, where they demanded ten thousand minas if anyone wished to see him alive.

Rescue parties would be dispatched at once, as several members of the army, and civilian volunteers would form a search party for the Treasurer. As the party searched for him, the bandits would stand guard outside the small shack where Edvard was locked up. The Treasurer was not too keen on waiting to see what was in store for him, thus he started planning his escape. He surveyed his small room, as he attempted to find a way to discretely leave. Utilizing sharp nails sticking out of the sheds walls, the man would use it to free himself from his binds. Now free, and being as quiet as he could be, he would look for his way out and start to consider various options in an attempt to escape. After several minutes of looking, Edvard would find a lose floorboard. He would proceed to carefully pull it lose, and use it to pry the solid window at the back open, utilizing it to make his escape. Despite the circumstances, Edvard managed to successfully sneak his way back to New Reza, where he deposited the funds from his earlier transaction. The thieves would be without their ransom, prisoner, or getting a single mina.

Upon Edvard's return to New Reza, he was greeted with great relief and joy by his peers in the Aulic Council, soldiers of the Brotherhood of Saint Karl, and many other citizens. His quick thinking and resourcefulness in the face of danger were especially praised. The Lord Treasurer was given the next few days off by Lord Palatine Konstantin Wick to rest and recover from this ordeal. During the next few days after this event, many would praise Edvard's actions and laugh at how poorly the bandits plan worked out for them.

The Shaman Raid, 1770

A depiction of Haeseni reinforcements breaching the encampment

During the Scyfling War, many scouting expeditions and patrols resulted in small-clashes breaking out between Haense and the Scyflings in Almanland. In 1770, one of these clashes resulted in the capture of Lauritz Christiansen, one who was considered to be a close friend to the Haeseni royal family. The man would be taken to a Scyfling encampment near New Reza. The encampment would be led by Warchief Taro the Tower. With all due haste, a scouting party would dispatch, which included Princess Alexandria and the Royal Treasurer, Rennard Amador to track down and retrieve the captured man.

With daybreak, the day after his capture, the Haeseni rescue force traversed forth and attacked the encampment. Thinking to utilize the element of surprise, they chose to scale the walls to get an upper hand. This however, would unfortunately turn out horribly for the sieging Haeseni force. The Scyfling warriors would pick off many of the Haeseni as soon as they appeared over the wall. The many javelins thrown by Taro would result in a majority of these critical injuries and fatalities. However, this would not be the worst that the rescue party would face, as Taro the Tower revealed himself to be a power Scyfling Shaman. The Shaman utilized the ingestion of strange toxins which made him extremely fast in inhumanly strong.

Once empowered by the toxins, Taro would become as strong as at least ten Scyfling warriors combined, and would use this newfound strength to inflict even more critical injuries and fatalities upon the party. Although, as things seemed quite grim for the party, and defeat seemed inevitable, reinforcements would arrive, led by the Lord Seneschal, Edvard Amador. Seeing the Haeseni who have fallen during the battle, those who became critically injured, and of course his dear cousin injured lit a fire in Edvard's heart, as his anger swelled. With his newfound great fury, Edvard led the reinforcements forth towards the enemy. A fierce battle ensued, with the Seneschal slaying many Scyflings, and finishing off the wounded Taro the Tower after some of the reinforcements dealt significant damage to him.

Haeseni Independence Day, 1786 (WIP)

The King of Hanseti-Ruska received a letter of summons from Holy Orenian Emperor Joseph II and Empress Anne I to meet on the 11th of the Amber Cold, 1786 at a set time. Edvard would be attending his first House of Commons meeting that day, as he kept glancing at his watch, awaiting the meetings time with skepticism and curiosity. When the time was ten minutes until the meeting time, the man would excuse himself from the Chambers as he headed outside the Imperial Palace, greeting his King, fellow Aulic Councilors, and esteemed Knights of the King.

Once everyone had arrived, they made their way inside with great suspicion and on their guards, as the intention of the meeting was unclear, and much tension had built up with the Imperials over the many years. After brief formalities transpired, the true purpose of the meeting came to light. The Imperials had grown weary and in a great distaste for the Haeseni Governments continued resisted attempts of integration in various forms. The Emperor and Empress thought that their efforts were in vein, and that it was not worth all the effort and manpower invested in the endeavor. Thus, Joseph II and Anne I proclaimed that in the name of both Realms prospering, the Dual Kingdom would be released as a vassal.

The Haeseni delegation was quite shocked at this turn of events, as they had expected something much more sinister from the Imperials. (WIP)

Death

The radiant sun would rise, marking a new day in the bustling city of Karosgrad. Edvard Amador got up and approached the window in his house overlooking the Haeseni city. “Hmmmm,” the man muttered as he looked to the sky as the sun peeked out from behind the palace. “Did I do a good job looking after the family, father?” he’d call out, “Did I meet your expectations? Are vy proud of me?” The man would continue, starting to shout out in frustration. “I tried my very hardest to ensure my family would be supported.” the man confesses, letting out a single tear.

“But in the end, what did it amount to. All the minas I amassed in Arcas are now gone, destroyed in a meteorshower that caused the city of New Reza to fall. The minas I’ve acquired do niet even amount close to what I had.” The man, now grayed, would pace out onto his balcony. “Were my decisions the right ones?” he says, now with tears coursing down his cheeks. “I spent most of my time accumulating wealth to ensure my family would have a comfortable life, but I never got to see them. Many events passed me by. The birth of Sosina, my niece, the death of my eldest brother Ruslan.” as he continued his rambling, he would walk further and further towards the ledge.

“In the end all I desired was to retire and to be with my family. Yet fate can be cruel. Most of the precious minas I’ve worked to achieve are gone,” he’d yell angrily as he rubbed his hand against his head, tugging some hair in frustration. “What was the point of this life of mine? I did my best for my Kingdom and my family, yet I can’t have peace. I must have more, and more, and more minas. I can never stop, and when I am about to, it all comes crashing down. All that I have worked for has vanished,” Edvard would knock the flower pot on his balcony down in one swift blow filled with anger, causing it to crash against the streets below..

“After all this work, I just wished to be with my family. I’ve grown so old, so tired. I just wish to rest,” the man says as he struggles to climb over the balcony, taking a seat, with his feet dangling over the city. “I think it is time I take my well deserved rest... See you soon father, and my dear brother, Ruslan.” With the death of his two beloved brothers, father, other family members, and loss of the majority of his minas, Edvard took one last stand on top of the balcony ledge, looking up at the sky. “Krusae Zwy Kongzem!” the man would shout at the top of his lungs, for all to hear before jumping off of the balcony. The man plunged down for a short while before meeting his end with tears and a smile on his face.

Postmortem

Edvard was buried in a coffin full of gold coins shortly after his death in a private ceremony, which little is known about. Due to the wide variety of contributions that he made during his lifetime to the Crown of Haense, when the Royal Bank in the Capital City of Karosgrad was re-constructed, King Karl III would name the bank 'The Golden Edvard Amador Bank'. This resulted in many posthumously giving him the additional moniker of 'The Golden Banker'.

Family

House Amador's Coat of Arms

Edvard was a proud member of House Amador. His Father was Henrik the Second, the 5th Baron of Mondstadt. His siblings were: Ruslan II, 6th Baron of Mondstadt, his twin Albert, and Karl. All of them were quite dear to the man and he would spend lots of time with them in his youth. His mother passed away at a young age which led to his Father needing to take care of them all. At the time, the House was not Nobility and was no different from the average commoner. So Henrik was always busy providing for his family, ensuring that they could live a good life. This caused Edvard to have a deep admiration for his father as he watched him always work hard and never complain. So Edvard vowed to ensure that his Fathers wish would be upheld. He wished to work hard to ensure that the family could live a comfortable good life. This led to the man getting a job as a Steward and working hard to ascend through the Government ranks to provide for his family as his father did. Although, this unfortunately meant that Edvard would see less and less of his oh so deer family as time went on. However, even as time went on, he never forgot his love for his family, it never faulted until the day he died. His main regret before his death was that he never spent enough time with what truly mattered, family.
