Origins

"Though it is a great loss, feeling those brothers and sisters that depart this realm, we know they only return to that of nature and wander eternally within the realm of the Aspects." ~Arinislia, the Owl Druid

Throughout the realms are hints and clues left by the Demi-Aspects of old. What they carved into stone and old tomes are the stories and tales of such a connection to nature. To transverse a realm with ability far over that of communing with nature, seeking approval from the divines; without approval, one would surely feel the wrath and the resulting damage.

Transcendence

Teaching

Knowledge - The beginning of any journey begins with knowledge, and druidic transcendence is no different. The teacher shall guide the student to a location where they can view the clear night sky. From there on, the teacher instructs the student on all things pertaining to the natural world, on how the night can affect the connection between the Fae Realm and the Mortal Realm. After this, the teacher guides the student to a Fae Ring and places them within. The student shall meditate, focusing on the push and pull of nature. They focus on the fleeting outlines of animals, but all are seen as green particles. When their eyes open, all of the student's focus ceases.

Projection - The student is instructed to go back into a meditative state. They are able to now see the energies and particles of the world around them as per the first lesson, but now, the student is to focus all that energy. Using their druidic energy, the student is to project an image of their spirit in front of them. This is not their actual spirit, but rather a false image that can only last for a short time. Once the image fades, the student is super exhausted. They are not able to transcend into the Fae Realm because they have not been taught how to. They are taught how to connect in the next lesson.

Wayfinding - The third and final lesson deals with finding a waypoint into the Fae Realm itself. Together, the student and the teacher will sit in the Fae Ring, and project their images. The teacher will then guide the student to the bridge of the realm. This bridge is the portal to the Fae Realm, if the journey is allowed to continue, then their images disappear into the realm together as soon as they step onto the bridge. Their bodies remain meditating in the ring. If the journey is not allowed to continue, the lesson ends as soon as the bridge appears and the spirits will return to their rightful bodies.

Abilities

Empowered by the moon, transcendence uses an existing tether between the Eternal Forest and the Mortal Plane. A druid's spirit will leave the body and leave behind an anchor to their physical and material body. Their physical body is left there in a meditative state, sitting there in peace as the soul explores the Fae Realm. Their spirit, whether disguised to their desire or not, is free to exit the ring and explore the garden at will.

In this Fae Garden, a druid's soul may encounter many animals. The most interesting of encounters found in the realm are the souls of late Druii. These souls are of the dead druids, who have been living in the Fae Realm ever since departing from the mortal plane. They are able to communicate with the entering the druid with ease, whether through nature itself or direct contact.

Though, if one is not careful, they can encounter rather dangerous animals and situations within the Fae Realm.

Dangers

The longer a druid stays within the realm, the more they will be tempted to never leave. It's not something a druid can see happening, but more like an ambient influence that is getting stronger every minute. It will distort the druid's mind and beckoning them to forever stay within the realm; however, it is not the only danger a druid can encounter when exploring the garden!

Although a druid can commune with creatures and plants, that doesn't mean that all creatures are friendly. The fae and unfriendly creatures live within the realm. These dangers can cause a druid's anchor to sever, leaving one's soul and body in instant limbo. There is another way that a spiritual anchor can be severed, and it is by means of the influence, that a druid's spirit will be tempted to leave the area where their body is residing. This will cause the druid's soul to be trapped. If the soul is successfully reunited with the body then there will be mental damage that will inhibit a druid's ability to use their gifts as well as their daily life.

If the soul is not reunited within an elven day, then their soul will forever be trapped in the Fae Realm as an unfortunate reminder to those who give in to the call.
