Drauchreich

The dark nation of Drauchreich was the most feared of all in Aegis, and known for its sadistic and brutal inhabitants, the Undead. It was once ruled with an iron fist by Overlord Freyj, with his brother Rott at his side until their untimely death during the Battle of Al'Khazar. The leadership passed into the hands of the previous prophet, Tyrion, who then became Overlord Tyrion. However, after the Prophet Vex and Overlord Tyrion fell, Iblees chose his most loyal and wise followers to rule once again. The Forsaken Kingdom of Drauchreich was ruled by the High Prophet Fyrste, with Overlord Brevias standing loyally at his side until it fell when the Champions of Aegis stormed the Nether and destroyed the Axe of Krug by throwing it into the fire of the Nexus. With the act complete the Undead were sealed in the Nether along with Drauchreich, seemingly removing it entirely as a threat to the peoples of Aegis.

No mortal eyes ever set on the spires of Drauchriem, the capital of the empire, without death soon after. Fire, lava and netherrack ruled the surrounding landscape, making it treacherous even for its native race. The Undead made use of this, building their spires from the top of the never ending caverns, high above a massive lava lake. The Ghasts and Pigmen tribes unwillingly guarded the borders.

Government

Drauchreich was once ruled solely by Overlord Freyj. Chosen by Iblees, he summoned the cities of Drauchreich with the intent of corrupting the realm of Aegis. His brother Prophet Rott, once a murderous psychopath, helped him run the empire, looking to spread corruption and the word of Iblees while doing raids on the lesser races to show superiority. The Forsaken Nation of Drauchreich was then under the rule of High Prophet Fyrste, who inherited the Nation after the deaths of Freyj, Rott, Tyrion and Vex.

Home Kingdom

Drauchreich was the kingdom of the Undead, home to the capital Drauchriem. Drauchriem was summoned in the name of Iblees by the Great Necromancer Freyj. The majority of Drauchreich was in the Nether although there was an outpost in the North, the floating city of Striqaephoth. The capital of Drauchriem hung from the top of the Nether over a massive lake of lava and fire. It was thought to be impregnable, and wasn’t been seen by any but the Undead. It was the home of many Necromancers, and the training grounds for Apprentices. The architecture of Drauchriem was dark, making use of spires for housing and fire for light.

Cities

Known as the Floating City, Striqaephoth was an outpost for the Undead. It was the home of some Undead, and also was used for battle planning and sacrifice. Those who turned Undead did so here before entering the Nether. This was where recruits came to be turned Undead and start as an apprentice. The architecture of Striqaephoth was, put simply, Gothic. With a strong emphasis on elegance, cobblestone made the majority, with accents of obsidian, with glowstone used for lighting. The city was floating, and looked almost like a chunk of the Nether was put into Aegis.

Army

The Undead did not fight in the same way as the Descendants, instead they wielded magic. Their magic was derivative of the Nether, as they wield fire. They also summoned the undead, to act as cannon fodder during their battles.
