Constructs are beings which are created mechanically by the mortals of the realms of Lord of the Craft. There are many different types of constructs and can be made a multitude of different ways.

Known constructs

Golems

Golems are sentient constructs, comprised of a stone body animated by a magical core. Some being given the name of the Stonefolk. The works of Rock and mud are sentient creatures that follow the commands of their masters.

Golems can be created using Enchanting or Runesmithing. They also require one skilled in the use of the material from which they are made to make all of the parts. Usually, two are required to make a golem, as it is incredibly difficult to make the part and apply the magic to it simultaneously.

Creation

These sentiment creatures are comprised of a magical 'core' buried within its stone body. To create a golem, a master blacksmith and master of magic must work together. The blacksmith must forge the body, A golem made entirely by a Golem mage will have physical difficulties due to inept blacksmithing, and a golem made purely by a blacksmith will suffer from a weak mind and weaker life force due to poor magic. There must be a balance in all things done.

The body is hand-forged by a blacksmith. The more work the blacksmith puts into the body, the stronger the core seems able to animate it, and the better and stronger the golem is. Clay has been proven to work, but materials such as iron, gold and obsidian do not animate. The core cannot animate huge bodies, and for this reason, golems rarely are more massive than an Orc. The creation of the core is complex.

Behaviour

Golems obey every command of the being they view as their “Impera”. Impera appears to mean “master” at first glance, but there appears to be far more to its meaning. Impera is a word ingrained into the golem. It is incapable of referring to anyone as Impera save its Impera, and cannot view itself as its own Impera (if it did, it would become locked in an eternal loop of waiting for orders from itself.)

Sorvian

paragonmask.png

Husk-like sentiment creatures mainly made out of clay. Visible with a mask on their body as such would have on a face.

Creation

A Sorvian must have all parts of their wooden skeleton covered by clay, and as such by the flesh, when being sculpted mainly by a Sorvian Sculpter. The mask cannot be removed from the head, welded on there by the creation ritual and a direct part of the creation. The mask will always remain stationary on their face, meaning Sorvian’s are incapable of smiling or doing anything with their face beyond what the mask was originally created to look like. The ritual which Men go through in order to become these ideological thralls put them into a status best defined as a “stalling”—everything within their very being, from the flesh to the very core of their soul, is put in a pause, or a limbo. Lifeforce stops its natural cycle, the blood ceases to run, growth no longer transpires; organs do not function, but they do not function because they’re forced to stop, not because they die. The mind is sent into a spiral until it, too, becomes a blank slate, where the only directive is to find a worthy ideology, and, once found, to be moulded by it.

Behaviour

A Sorvian is made to serve, and will always have a sense of reverence, or at least deeply ingrained respect, for their creator. However, they are not entirely bound by this creator. Though they will follow any requests given to them by their creator, they feel compelled to wander and interact with the mortals around them and learn of their beliefs and what drives them. Whatever ideology and culture a Sorvian meshes with, their accent and voice will grow to mimic it organically over the course of a year or two. While they will follow any request or command from their creator, viewing such things as just a part of their life, they are not mindless or will-less servants. A Sorvian may disagree with a command they are given, but will still follow through with it.

Atronach

atronach.png

A familiar, in simple terms, is an elemental construct given sentience and persistence.

Creation

For one to make an Atronach they must have an Atronach Forger. One must gather the materials for the plates, the materials for the core, and all the magic types required present in order to create the atronach. Quite like golems Atronachs have their own cores. Made deeply with one of these magics, transfiguration, conjuration, and evocation The core consists of a large mana gem which is encased in arcanum, then infused with conjuration in order to grant it the sentience required for an atronach to function. Finally, the core must be enchanted with a spell which binds the target evocation to the core via transfiguration - therefore determining the properties of the atronach.

Behaviour

Atronachs are gifted their own sentience and mind, bound by only the will and command of their creator. They may learn, think, and apply prior knowledge and experience to their actions. However, despite their lack of total freedom, Atronachs are incredibly intelligent and learn very quickly.Atronachs are also very eager to experience certain emotions or feelings, almost craving feelings such as rolling in a field of flowers, or feeling ‘happiness’. Atronachs are completely subservient to their creator, obeying every command and wish regardless of their held morals. An Atronach will also not harm their master nor will they try to seek out loopholes in a master’s command, seeing their masters as their very reason for existence, and thus opt to devout servitude.

Types

  • Fire Atronachs are the product of an Atronach imbued with the powers of Voidal Fire. They are the most volatile and dangerous form of arcane construct, using voidal flame to create devastating attacks.
  • Water Atronachs are primarily made of water, their form sustained by their plates and core. While this allows them to move more freely.
  • Ice Atronachs are frailer forms of the earth atronachs due to their superior casting ability in comparison to their earthen cousins.
  • Earth Atronachs are comprised of earth evocation, allowing them to perform feats and abilities of earth due to their primary composition.

Historical Constructs

Please note that these constructs are no longer playable, and seem to be lost to history.. though it is possible you may see them in an event...

Ents

AENT.jpg

Ents can be seen around heights of 50 to 55 feet. The weight of an Ent approximately at this height would be around 13 to 15 tons. This can be dependent on age, and the conditions of the Elder Tree that sprouted it from. The size of an Ent is unparalleled by any other natural creature and makes them formidable opponents to anyone senseless enough to challenge the otherwise passive beings.

Creation

The scarce ents are considered the offspring of great Elder Trees. Only to be called when the Elder Trees deem them necessary. Their way to vocalize the stories of the time. When the time is finally right, and the Elder Tree has named its matured sentient successor, nature stills and lulls into absolute silence. The earth around the base of the tree falls loose as a creature of unimaginable size, strength and wisdom is conceived, growing thereafter. This creature is the ent of the forests. Nature rejoicing at such a miraculous event. Ents are enormous sentient beings made from the elder wood of their tree. They generally share distinct humanoid features, though replaced with materials of the forest. Such as a beard of grass or leaves, arms and legs were woven from entwined roots and trunks, and so on. They represent nature, and share striking similarities with the trees that surround them; they can easily be mistaken for a tree themselves if one does not have a keen eye. They will often feature a glowing set of orbs where their eyes would commonly be, and faint green mist surrounding it. With each slow movement, they would creak similar to a tree swaying.

Behaviour

When an ent’s Elder Tree, themselves, or the area that they swore to protect is put under danger they show no restraint to attempt in erasing the threat. And they do so effectively, being able to challenge most without any trouble. But it is rare to see these beings resort to any level of violence. The ents’ personality matches that of one who has witnessed both the whimsical wonders of life, but also the atrocities committed. Despite this, they are slow to anger or even irritate. They may show sympathy, mercy, or sometimes even distaste. They will never speak concisely and treat most situations without haste. Though each of these creatures may differ in their approaches. Each elder ent will have a specific appearance or set of traits that define them. Such as some being conceived from a cherry tree, others wearing features like a beard, mane, or even differing in the shape of a body. They are also characterized by a name, usually of ancient druidic origin, and the region of both themselves as their Elder Tree.
