The City of Talon's Port is the current capital city of The Unified Domain of Vortice, and the former capital city of the Sovereign State of Talon's Port. The city is built on the southern shores of mainland Almaris, and serves as a hub for scholarship and artisanship, boasting organizations such as the University of Vaelya and the Vortician Society of Scholars and Artisans. Talon's Port is one of the most prominent mixed race cities within Almaris.

Construction
In 0 SE, Sovereign Gail Cordius declared that the city of Talon's Port was to be built upon the survivors of Talon's Grotto disembarking the World Ship after narrowing escaping the destruction of Arcas. The city was built within a forested coastal wetland, as the local temperature most highly resembled the tropical Queen's Isle, where the former city of Talon's Grotto had been built. Given the easy availability of clay suitable for brickmaking in the local wetlands, the city was constructed primarily out of bricks, alongside timber from the surrounding forest.
Though, this process was long and arduous, and many residents were forced to live upon the World Ship during the early phases of construction, rowing between the shoreline and the anchored vessel each morning and night.
Due to the difficult terrain and limited building capabilities of the Arcas refugees, the portside city ended up quite compact, with winding streets and alleyways cutting between buildings.
Geography
The City of Talon's Port was built within the coastal wetlands regions of the southern shores of mainland Almaris, in the midst of the southern jungles. The city was easily sheltered from violent seas as it was built far within the inlet that served both The Princedom of Elvenesse alongside the Sovereign State of Talon's Port.

The Alley Alehouse
The Alley Alehouse is the sole tavern within Talon's Port, and is typically the gathering spot for citizens. Located just within the front gate in Market Square, it towers above the other buildings of the city, boasting two stories of seating, a third story belonging to an inn, and a rooftop gathering space typically used in weddings. The establishment is currently owned by Emandriel Anarore.
