Biography

Early Childhood

Christopher Asul'onn was born in Year 7 of the Second Era, and abandoned on the streets of Karosgrad from an early age alongside his twin brother Elias Asul'onn. Given their blonde hair and green-eyed features, some assumed the pair to be abandoned Barclay children, though these rumors were never confirmed. It was from this early age that the elven couple Revas and Elren Asul'onn found the pair on the street, taking Christopher and Elias into their care as if they were their own sons. Elren Asul'onn died while Christopher was just a few years old, thus leaving him with few memories of his adoptive father.

As a child, Christopher was known to spend most of his time outside of the city walls, constantly visiting the Holy Orenian Empire and Kingdom of Norland with his brother Elias against the wishes of his parents. Besides these trips, Christopher was a well-behaved child who was raised as a Canonist and attentive in his homeschooling, growing to be known for his intelligence and quiet demeanor. His grandmother Dame Tarathiel Asul'onn was briefly granted the title of Baroness of Eftenbach by Koeng Josef I, placing Christopher as the second in line to inherit the Barony of Eftenbach. Though, this title was soon revoked under the reign of Koeng Henry II due to Tarathiel being a Wood Elf, thus causing Christopher to grow disdainful of Haense.

Adolescence

Christopher briefly joined the Brotherhood of Saint Karl as a cadet at age 13, and showed a natural inclination to fighting, though he soon opted out of the Brotherhood after two years of service, preferring to focus his energy elsewhere.

It was during Christopher's teenage years that he grew enamored with Marjorie vas Ruthern after meeting her in the Brotherhood of Saint Karl. While he attempted to win her hand, his lowborn status prevented him from being able to realistically ask Duke Maric var Ruthern for Marjorie's hand in marriage, and she was later wed to Duke Ruslan Baruch. Despite her marriage, he persisted in being around her, later being threatened by both Ruslan Baruch and Marjorie's eldest brother, Ailred var Ruthern to halt his visits.

Throughout his entire childhood, Christopher was known to be constantly bullied by the other children of Haense due to his lowborn nature, further causing him disdain for the Kingdom of Haense, thus causing him to move away from the city as soon as possible.

Residence in The Duchy of Elysium

Christopher visited the Duchy of Elysium frequently as a child, and after failing to win Marjorie's hand in marriage, he grew evidently more depressed and visited the Duchy more constantly to escape the streets of Karosgrad alongside seeking comfort in his brother. It is in this time that he met Amicia de Astrea, an Elysian noblewoman and medic. Christopher had briefly known Amicia, as she had grown enamored with his brother Elias, though her advances were brushed aside as he had been courting Iduna O'Rourke, who would later become the second Countess of Halstaig.

During this time, Christopher founded the Asul'onn Brother's Trading Company with Elias, beginning to produce numerous household goods alongside small quantities of jewelry. Purchasing stalls in Karosgrad, Providence, and Elysium, he also traveled between cities frequently, peddling his goods to those on the streets and splitting the revenue with his brother in exchange for a constant supply of new products.

As the years progressed, Christopher and Amicia found solace with one another. While the pair talked about marriage, Christopher insisted that Amicia convert from the Red Faith to Canonism before they marry, and she was soon baptized in St. Henrik's Basilica in Karosgrad. This later led to the public ceremonial marriage of Christopher and Amicia on the 12th of the First Seed, 28 SA. There was a private Canonist marriage away from Norlandic lands some days later.

Soon enough, Christopher and Amicia had their first children, a set of twins known as Anya de Astrea and Acadia de Astrea, and was known for his constant attempts at teaching his merchanting skills to the pair to use in the later years.

As Prince-Consort of Elysium

As Elysium began considering their independence, plans for a new Elysian city began to form, and Christopher was appointed as one of the head architects for drafting the plans of the Elysian Army Keep at the front of the city, as well as assisting in finalizing the layouts of the streets. After Elysium gained their independence from the Kingdom of Norland, Duke Eugeo de Astrea began styling himself as King of Elysium, thus raising Amicia de Astrea to be a princess of Elysium and causing Christopher to become Prince-Consort.

Within the first year of the construction of the city, Christopher was appointed as the Elysian Minister of Finance due to the successful business practices of the Asul'onn Brother's Trading Company, and ended up creating the footprint of Elysium's own national currency, which would later be known as the Elysian Écu.

During his time within the city of New Elysium, he continued running his local stall alongside others in different capitals of the world. The remainder of Christopher's time in Elysium was uneventful, and he soon stepped down as the Elysian Minister of Finance, being replaced by Fal'leon Odinson in Year 46 of the Second Era.

Death of Amicia and Traveling

In Year 47 of the Second Era, tragedy struck Christopher as Amicia died suddenly. After the death of Amicia, Christopher grew noticeably withdrawn, typically refusing to leave his room within the palace for days on end. After some years of this behavior, Christopher finally silently left the city of Elysium without notifying anyone- his children or family- of what he had planned.

He wandered aimlessly for nearly a decade before he finally regained contact with his family and children, finally contacting Anya and Elias. He went on brief visits to the Jade State of Yong Ping to see his daughter, who had recently faked her death after multiple years of an unfulfilling marriage to Baron Johann Ludovar. While assisting in keeping her identify a secret, he briefly stayed with her before he opted to take up residency in the Sunbreak Keep, the home of the Paladins of Xan, which his grandmother Tarathiel Asul'onn overlooked and his brother Elias Leon O'Rourke née Asul'onn, was part of.

He stayed within a spare room in the keep for nearly a year, spending time with both his grandmother and brother before the keep was assaulted by a horde of the undead under the command of Azdromoth, thus forcing Christopher to abandon his home once more in it's destruction and leaving him to more years of aimless wandering, simply living off the minas he had earned in his younger years.

Elderly Years

Christopher spent years traveling the lands of Almaris, traveling from inn-to-inn as he sought for a newfound purpose. In Year 68 of the Second Era, though, on one of his trips to his childhood home of Karosgrad, he regained contact with his daughter Anya. She had once again moved to Karosgrad while taking up the identity of Adelaide von Audrick after marrying the former Vice Chancellor of the Principality of Sedan, Ludwig von Audrick.

While still closely guarding the secret of his daughter's origin, he began to settle in to Haenseti life once more, growing familiar with the city he had always held as his home since his childhood. Taking minor roles in raising Anya and Ludwig's children, he taught his merchanting expertise to those around him and spent his last years in comfort. In Year 80 of the Second Era, he peacefully died in his sleep within the von Audrick Manor, ending his 73-year life surrounded by his remaining family.

Appearance

In his youth, Christopher was a 5'9" Highlander with thick blonde hair and green eyes. He is typically followed by a living housemagery timberwolf doll known as Ernst that was created for him by his mother Revas. Throughout his years, he typically wore expensive, blue-silken clothing in opposition to his brother's typically red clothes. He wore two pieces of jewelry almost constantly- around his neck was a silver Lorraine cross, while on his finger was a white-gold wedding band that had been created by Elias for his marriage with Amicia. His pale complexion revealed that he had spent most of his days indoors, and unlike others in his family who had pursued the more dangerous jobs of paladins, he sported few scars due to his career of choice.
