Celiasil is elf of storied history and once great repute, known as the former leader of the Republic of Haelun'or's Sillumiran, the Favored Herald of the Arch-Drakaar Azdromoth, and later the leader and reformer of the Elvenesse Military which would come to be known as the Emerald Guard.

A veteran of many battles, a father to four children, a teacher, and a husband and counterpart twice over, the two-time General is one more storied than most, yet ultimately faded into relative obscurity in his retirement, and later disappearance after an ill-fated deal with an entity known as the King in Yellow.

History

Early Life

The History of Celiasil

The Silver State of Haelun'or

The noteworthy portion of Celiasil's life begins with a startling rise to power upon his initial arrival to Haelun'or, the at the time rather blunt and aggressive young Mali'thill gained the favor of then-Sohaer Nelgauth Maehr'tehral and Maelunir Muriel Uradir, valued for his direct and matter-of-fact nature. With their encouragement, he was compelled to secure his place in the city by running for the office of Okarir'tir, the leader of the Haelun'orian military known as the Sillumiran.

In a narrowly won election, Celiasil managed beat out his opponents Alluin Miravaris- then Tilruir'sil of the Sillumiran- and Storm Elibar'acal despite a lack of prior official military experience, and despite having resided in the city for but a handful of years. A newcomer now to the Council as well, the elf quickly earned a name for himself through his bold manner and diligent work. In this time, so too did he meet his first wife, Aurelia Dagre'sae, a soft-spoken woman with whom he had two children, Miralia and Perithir. Additionally, he came to discover his heritage as one of the Uradir, welcomed by Laurir Anethra Uradir, and her kin Muriel, Silvyr, and Talar'siol Uradir.

Over the following years, initially taking personal responsibility for most functions of the waning Sillumiran, the newly fledged Okarir'tir would begin building the organization back into a more functional form, ultimately restoring it and, thereby, the Silver State's security with the aid of his chosen Tilruir'sil Ellisar Aevaris, and several other talented new additions. This period of the Sillumiran, under his leadership, was defined by a more merciful approach to the enforcement of Purity, with no documented executions of the impure taking place under his command, and a standard of honor and decency upheld by those who served him.

In the decades that followed, the elf would lead many successful battles for the fate of Haelun'or, largely against the otherworldly threats common to the world at that period; namely against the Inferi, and against the dark forces of a creature known as Vor'kalan, but also such threats as a giant worm- which swallowed he and the Maheral of the time, Ikur Sullas. In time, the man would be regarded by his soldiers as a near religious figure, exalted and revered as an icon and symbol of his homeland.

During his tenure in office, the Silver State came to form a pact with the Arch-Drakaar Azdromoth, to which he initially objected, but went on to become the most diligent defender and the one largely responsible for ensuring the cohesion of the partnership, later made the Arch-Drakaar's favored Herald and entrusted even with the leadership of his children the Azdrazi, a duty for which he took great pleasure, and which would largely define the latter period of his command- leading to no small measure of controversy amongst the more traditional of Mali'thill, namely the Maheral's wife Aiera Sullas, and his cousin Nuala Uradir.

After leading a storied final charge against the Inferi, his army comprised of both Sillumiran, Heralds and Azdrazi alike, fighting alongside many other forces of the Descendants, and becoming by several accounts the first Descendant to set foot within the Inferic stronghold, the height of Celiasil's influence and repute would be reached, later to decline as the move to Almaris brought with it peace, and left him uncertain to the future he wished to walk- for even such power and repute could, it seemed, grow stale. By this time, as well, had his wife Aurelia been missing for many years; thought dead.

Ultimately it was the encounter and fall for a wood elven woman he'd known for decades, Miven Caerme'onn, and the urging of his daughter Miralia, which made up his mind to depart both Haelun'or, and his service to Azdromoth; giving up, essentially, all that he had built and earned in favor of a quieter life amongst the more diverse populace of Elvenesse. It is said that on the announcement of his resignation, the streets of the Silver State resounded with the cries of his soldiers, though of course, his destination and abandonment of purity had not been known to them at the time.

The Realm of Elvenesse

After significant debate and consideration, Celiasil would ultimately take permanent residence in the Realm of Elvenesse, where his counterpart Miven Caerme'onn resided as one of the Raitheans, or Archdruii, of the Father Circle- known as the Bear Druid. Predictably, his arrival was met with ample skepticism, but the elf was quick to earn the favor of the Councilors of the Realm, soon establishing himself under the Lord Exarch Evar'tir Oranor as an Exarch himself. For a handful of years, he worked diligently to keep peace within the woodland, with he and the Lord Exarch becoming, for a time, largely the sole sources of law and order within the land- the military, at that time known as the Sentinels, left in a familiar state of disrepair.

After proving himself in this duty and gradually eliminating the doubt that had been set upon him as a former Haelun'orian Councilor, Celiasil would come to petition the then High Prince Feanor Sylvaeri, seeking to replace the current Lord Marshall Aesilnoth Tundrak and work to restore the Elvenessi military as he had the Sillumiran. Though a lengthy process, harrowing political circumstance- namely the accusations of Haelun'or against the Realm, and the attacks upon them by the Sillumiran, now under a new and far more traditionalist Okarir'tir- necessitated the instatement of a new Lord Marshall. Thus, Celiasil came to, for the second time, find himself perched atop the military hierarchy of his home.

Vexed by the perceived betrayal of the very same troops he had once trained, and inspired by the loss of a prominent member of the community, Miven's grandmother the Oracle Awaiti Sirame, he would with the aid of his second-in-command, Oryl Sirame, rebuild the military from the ground up with the intention to make it one that could not fall to corruption and dishonor as he believed the Sillumiran had in his absence. Dubbed the Okartayneiran, or Emerald Guard in honor of the Oracle Awaiti Sirame's druidic path known as the Emerald Way, the Elvenessi military would steadily improve; though never quite to a point which satisfied the veteran mali- with recruitment within the Realm proving even more difficult than it had been in Haelun'or decades prior.

Around this same time, Celiasil- now bereft of his powers as a Herald of Azdromoth- would choose to enlist as a dedicant in the Father Circle, ultimately ending up under the tutelage of Andria Tresery, the Lioness Druid. Though his motives for this choice were always somewhat in question, at least to himself, and he would ultimately never manage to obtain attunement, he nonetheless completed many trials in the path towards it, learning much and becoming better acquainted with the life and traditions of his counterpart- a significant portion of his motives for the endeavor in the first place.

As the political state of Elvenesse eventually, through many further tribulations and challenges, began to settle, Celiasil found himself unable to find the same pleasure and enthusiasm for his work that he once had in the Silver State. Beaten by circumstance, worn weary by the seemingly impossible task of motivating the populace of the elven nation to draw arms and defend themselves, he would soon begin to contemplate his retirement- far sooner than ever he had expected. Amidst the chaos, however, was a blessing; as he became father to two more, first through the adoption of Vinwë, and then the birth of he and Miven's daughter Rori Caerme'onn.

As his disillusionment with the state of the nation grew, circumstances continued to develop. It became clear that the High Prince Feanor Sylvaeri would soon vacate his throne, and that with his resignation, would come a great deal of change. Lord Exarch Evar'tir Oranor was ordained as the best successor, with Celiasil himself volunteering as a back-up option, and thus the Oranor was subjected to the judgement of the various Mali'ame Seed Chieftans.

Evar'tir Oranor was challenged only by Celiasil's own long-time apprentice, Amaesil Vuln'miruel- previously known as Onas Vuln'miruel. In a fateful turn of events, the Moot held to solidify this election would turn to chaos; with one of the many concessions made to evade war, the skinning of an already dead elf to sate the Orcs of Krugmar, used as a political talking point and stirring a near-riot, with Amaesil at its head. Quelled, after Celiasil bid his apprentice to mind the discord that he sowed, the uproar had nonetheless shaken the faith of the Council, realizing the true state of mind of their populace.

Celiasil was left, with Amaesil, as the then presumed candidate for the title of High Prince; yet, in the chaos, he had found an epiphany, one which would lead him to withdraw from the running- he could not lead these elves if he wished to, for in truth, they simply were not his people. He felt resentment for them, not love or faith, and though the crown beckoned, he knew it would only bring him shame and misery to accept it.

Ultimately, once the machinations of politics and upheaval were said and done, Evar'tir Oranor managed to acquire the High Princeship after all, and Amaesil was left to inherit the military that his mentor had started; a fact welcomed by Celiasil, who kept faith that his dear apprentice could honor his legacy more surely than those he once left to preserve the Sillumiran in his absence.

Similarly disenfranchised by the events of the Moot, Miven would work to establish a new sanctuary for the Father Circle and many other Mali'ame, with Celiasil- now bereft of purpose and duty once more, save for his role as dedicant, trailing after.

The Vale of Nevaehlen

This sanctuary would come to be known as the Vale of Nevaehlen, established atop the ruins of the defunct city of Vaelya. With a firm stance against Voidal Magics and a more extreme, diligent focus on the preservation of nature by any means necessary, this settlement became a place of welcome peace and reprieve for Celiasil and his family. Though he enjoyed the peace and the opportunity to spend more time with his loved ones, it proved a difficult task for a mali of his nature to truly be content in such peace- unable to fully embrace the druidic lifestyle as others did, and left somewhat listless.

Celiasil's life in Nevaehlen was one relatively free of note, a quiet time of retirement and rest where he could raise his children, and enjoy the presence of his beloved- learning more here and there on his path towards attunement. Alas, it couldn't last forever- and it would be the elf's own folly which would tear him away from this place, driven to reckless action by his own restlessness. In encountering the Saffron Herald of a particular Yellow King, his curiosity was stoked.

Driven by the familiar draw to power which had gained him his prior status and repute, the elf would ultimately heed its call to speak with its master, believing he would be able to accept the power it offered and bring it into his influence in the same fashion he had, long ago, managed to some extent to do with the Arch-Drakaar. A mistake most daming, as it turned out, as in accepting the gifts of the King in Yellow, and paying little mind to its carefully woven words, he would find himself beset by its influence in a fashion he hadn't anticipated.

A final tear-filled encounter followed, the altered Celiasil- now adorning yellow eyes and a number of peculiar abilities- staggered into Nevaehlen in search of his love. With what scarce few moments he had left, he bequeathed a number of his belongings to his children, begged her forgiveness for his mistake, and soon was claimed by the roll of thunder and the voice of the King- torn from his beloved and their friends, and lofted into the sky that his service might begin.

To him, all went dark in that moment- as he was pressed into the furthest reaches of his own mind, locked out from a body he had surrendered. What occurred to him after this point is largely unknown, but scant sightings have been made of the King in Yellow utilizing his body as a puppet, speaking through his mouth and with his face to carry out its own indiscernible will. Though it promises his eventual return, no one knows if or when the former lover, father, general and dedicant may actually be returned.

Family

Partners & Children

Miven Caerme'onn: One of the very first people Celiasil encountered on his arrival to the more populous regions of Arcas, Miven Caerme'onn was a dear friend for several decades before she ultimately became more. His confidant in all things, and one who could quell the often volatile 'aheral into a rare state of relative peace, they united during the voyage from Arcas to Almaris, and chose to make a life together soon thereafter. They would spend decades together, raise two children, and share everything until Celiasil's own foolish bargain eventually forced their parting. Bear Druid and Spring Raithean of the Father Circle, Miven is a figure worthy of extensive note in her own right.

Miralia: Celiasil's firstborn daughter with Aurelia Dagre'sae during the early years of his tenure as Okarir'tir, Miralia was a girl of peculiar disposition from the time she was just a child, her mother's reclusive tendencies meaning that Celiasil largely raised her himself, juggling his duty to the Silver State and as a Father as best he could. Fond of archery, and prone to extended absences in the woods on all manner of adventure, Celiasil cannot help but view her as an idyllic reflection of himself, and was rarely happier than when she returned from her journeys to spend time with he and the rest of the family. Notably, it was her influence which largely prevented him from becoming one of Azdromoth's Azdrazi, and reinforced his desire to depart to Elvenesse to be with Miven.

Perithir: Second eldest and sibling of Miralia, also a child of Aurelia Dagre'sae, Perithir was only a young boy when Celiasil made his departure from Haelun'or. Rather than condemn the child to a future of impurity away from his people, Celiasil would opt to leave him in the care of Anethra Uradir for the first part of his life, until he ultimately chose to join he, Miven and Miralia in Elvenesse. To his Father's surprise, Perithir took rapidly to the druidic lifestyle, and though they remained somewhat distant, Celiasil was proud of the boy's diligence nonetheless- relieved to see him inherit a more level disposition than his own.

Vinwë: The only adoptive child Celiasil has ever taken, Vinwë was found by he and Miven in Elvenesse when she was quite young, apparently near-blind as she mistook Celiasil for her Father. Endeared and realizing from what she said that her parents likely wouldn't be returning for her, the couple chose to take her in as their own. Partly by nature, and perhaps partly by rearing, Vinwë proved to be a troublemaker by nature, causing no shortage of discord to which her parents would do their best to attend- Celiasil, for his part, usually more amused than upset with her chaotic behaviours.

Rori: The youngest of the four children, Rori is the only biological child of Celiasil and Miven. Much like her sister Vinwë, Rori very quickly showed herself to be something of a feral little thing, with a pension for befriending wild animals through sheer force of determination and will. Though she was still quite young when Celiasil made his fateful mistake, she was always cherished by her Father, the man taking no small measure of amusement in her behaviour- though he always worried that she may eventually skew towards a recklessness and draw to chaos which ruined his own early life.

Amaesil Vuln'miruel: Though not technically a child of Celiasil's, either biological or adopted, his apprentice Amaesil was always much akin to a son to the 'aheral, and would indeed become thought of as one in time. Though their relationship was far from one without its difficulties or conflicts, the young 'ame witness to the more troubled sides of Celiasil usually guarded from most, Celiasil was ultimately proud of who his one and only apprentice became.

Aurelia Dagre'sae: The first wife of Celiasil and mother to Miralia and Perithir, met not long after his arrival to Haelun'or, Aurelia was a woman of extremely anxious but also benevolent disposition, the first to manage to tame the at the time particularly standoffish and fiery natures of Celiasil. As the years of their marriage went on however, the elfess would grow increasingly insular and withdrawn, struggling beneath the long shadow of her husband. Eventually, she would depart on a trip to her homeland, and never return, either dead or having chosen to flee the life they'd built- Celiasil never did find out which.

Uradir Bloodline

Resiheiuh Uradir: Celiasil's only brother by blood, and elder one at that, Resiheiuh is a figure largely absent in the latter half of his life, with Celiasil believing him dead after he had abandoned him to fight several trolls on his own as a child. Only later in life, after his ascent to power in Haelun'or, did Celiasil discover that his brother had indeed survived. Though he lingered in Haelun'or only briefly, the discovery that this greatest sin has not actually resulted in the death of his elder brother was one that changed Celiasil forever, lifting from his shoulder a weight of guilt that had become so ever-present. Few can make the colossal 'aheral feel small or weak, but Resiheiuh stands as one of few to whom Celiasil could not help but look up.

Anethra Uradir: Laurir of the Uradir Talonnii at the time of Celiasil's presence in the Haelun'or, it was she who discovered his connection to the family while perusing records of lineage. Offering the recently fledged Okarir'tir a place within her family, one accepted with some hesitance, Anethra would ultimately prove to be the only living Uradir whom stayed in the man's good graces, save for Resiheiuh, who had scant few attachments to his blood relatives. Regarded as a sister, the woman- a skilled mage and multi-talented crafter- would ever be a reliable confidant of her red-headed sibling, even when their paths diverged.

Muriel Uradir:

Silvyr Uradir:

Talar'siol Uradir: The late Talar'siol Uradir was an elf of diligent disposition and ample capability, a man for whom Celiasil possessed a rare deal of respect. When gaining leadership of the Sillumiran, Celiasil recruited his cousin to serve as one of this first officers, fighting alongside him and relying upon him in those early years. Even when maimed after the Mali'thills' first encounter with the Inferi, Talar'siol found his strength with some encouragement from his kin and commander, fighting on for years to come. Sadly, upon the formation of the Pact of the Titan, Talar'siol did not align with the path of his family, and seeing them fall into what he believed to be disgrace under the Titan's wing, marched to his death against the Inferic hoards in a gesture to retain his honor and express his stalwart opposition. His passing is one that ever haunted Celiasil, left to wonder what he could have done to prevent it.

Nuala Uradir: A divisive figure from the Uradir Talonnii's past under the Diarchy, Nuala Uradir returned to the Silver State in the latter years after the Pact had been struck with Azdromoth. A staunch traditionalist and detractor of the measure, she posed herself in opposition to most of her kin, publishing a number of articles against them and challenging Celiasil particularly for his vocal advocation of the Arch-Drakaar. As such, she was left rather far outside of his good graces, and though she sought reconciliation at a later date, Celiasil would ultimately never forgive his more estranged cousin for her actions.
