Celia'nor was a State of High Elves on the past continent of Almaris, which was dissolved after the nation's capital to the Mori forces in spite to the crimes its founder Ivarielle Ibarellan had done against its people. Along the coast that borders the western Almarian ocean, the dockyards were filled with sailors, fishermen, and merchants alike that bustle trade and commerce into the economy. At the epicenter of the city, it showed that it truly was a city of promise with a theater, inn, tavern, shops of every sort, and opportunity around every corner.

History

Aheralic War and Haelun'or Civil War

Several years before the official spark of the war, the founder of Celia'nor, Arch-Princess Ivarielle laid claim to the Haelun'orian throne. She was quickly supported by most of the world as well as large portions of the Haelun'orian society, may it be public or hidden. The war dragged on with several battles, in which Ivarielle's supporters were almost entirely victorious. After the reelection in Haelun'or, one of Ivarielle's supporters was elected as the leader of Haelun'or and soon announced that Ivarielle shall become part of the Haelun'orian council, which soon was transformed into the Silver Princedom of Haelun'or, with Ivarielle as leader. The losing side did not accept the elections nor the reformation of Haelun'or and sparked a civil war in which Ivarielle's troops and supporters were cut off from supplies and hence forced to leave the island. On the "Long March West" the defeated revolutionary forces then went, in hopes for a new home.

Post-Haelun'or Civil War

An ideal of one that soon grew in multitudes, the desire to be represented by genuine mali of meritocratic standing and hold fair council of the high elven people that flow fluently with their duties, long since tired of being failed did the Celian people seek to begin a revolution to progress their people, as they were taught so long ago, from an era of stagnancy. Yet with a slight oversight were a long march west forced of the vast revolutionary forces of the mali’aheral, lead by Uthir Ivarielle I.

It were in the dense forest, along a river inlet, below the Idol’s Garden did they find their new home with wood elven guides to aid their pathing, an abandoned town there lingering as an indicator those very lands were inhabitable. A tide of tents were erected were the mali within would come to convene amd hold several votes to decide their future and how best they would see their future. No longer seeking to cower beneath the history of paper-pushers and failed aristocrats they did so.

A monarchy did they vote, with Uthir Ivarielle now Princess Ivarielle, a name did they vote; Celian’or (The land of Stars) and its capital city, Fi’Andria, the city of Stars and Embers that would soon rise far above the towering redwoods flanking the encampment with roofs of purple to express the vast wealth of its denizens and the royal family with how rare such a hue is in the western half of Almaris.

The Established Nation

The Principality of Celia'nor following the establishment of the Capital City of Fi'andria was one that was quick to rise into being one of importance in making it's mark upon the west of Almaris and elvendom. The humble capital grew into a bustling city filled with a variety of walks of life. While they maintained their high elven majority, the city was filled with all different walks of elvenlife from the far reaches of Almaris. Guilds and gatherings of people from all around the realm came to Celia'nor to settle their roots, creating a hub of mercantilism and magic. With these new denizens, the culture began to truly blossom with the arts, magic, and court life amongst the common people. Festivals of all varieties were hosted, establishments became bustling, shopkeepers had a steady flow of income, courtiers thrived in both the arts and sciences, the progress of Celia'nor was endless.

It was not only a place of new beginnings for an individual within the culture, but for elven unity as a whole. Princess Ivarielle of Celia'nor, Prince Evar'tir Oranor of Elvenesse, Prince Vytrek Tundrak of Fenn, and Prince Netseth Loa'chil of Nor'asath, each representing the settlements of every major elven race, met together after years of diplomacy and discussion within the Fi'andria palace to finally sign a document that united the elves in a reclamation of Malinor. Together they united to bring about a mutual alliance and agreeance of aligning their diplomatic interests for the sake of all elves. In the following years, the War:Malinor-Horde War began when the State of Malin'or issued a series of demands to the Rexdom Of Krugmar.

After Princess Ivarielle's retirement as the active leader in the year 85 SA. it was her brother, soon known as Prince Illarion, who took over as the Principalities leader. His rule was a time of peace and simple growth. Even though a former mercenary, Illarion's rule was largely eventless, yet was it him who stabilized the country and ensured the continuing growth. His ten years of reign were used to improve the infrastructure and build new towns and villages such as Cartref Moar, Starpool or Paradine. His reign saw the slow, yet unspectacular expansion of Celia'norian power and territory. Many see the peaceful contract of Elysium, now know as The Republic Vikela as his greatest achievement. Sadly however, in the 10th year of his reign he grew greatly sick and he too had to retire, announcing Valyris Ibarellan as the new Princess in his place.

Princess Valyris' reign was a prosperous one for the first 25 years. Under her, an alliance with Haense was formed - and the first Malin'or dissolved. She insprired a great culture surrounded around stars and magic, yet tragedy was to strike soon.

The Fall of Celia'nor and its dissolvement

While Ivarielle was initially loved by her people, towards the end of Valyris' reign the reality soon caught up with the Celianorians; in a voidal explosion the Celianorian palace ended, creating a hollow from Ivarielle's blown-up voidal tear she created for unknown reasons. Her Hubris' made her hated by many; yet from the outside it was Valyris who had to take the blame. Celia'nors once-great reputation suffered and Princess Valyris was mocked by many outside of Celia'nor for Ivarielle's faults. She grew weary of her burden - and after the capital was seized and burned by the Mori, the sickness became to strong and she broke with the tradition. Instead of appointing one of the now-hated Ibarellan the next ruler, she and the Celianorian Leadership appointed the popular Veralya Wynasul the new Ruler of the people.

Veralya, however, with the support of her council and people, dissolved Celia'nor.

The Capital City of Fi’andria

The Great City of Fi’andria, located in the heart of Celia’nor where the redwoods angle high overhead until a clearing is unveiled to the city of stars and embers. A place of grandiose wonder which magic and mystique run freely through the air. Spiraling towers of ivory that were touched by mulberry at their apex dotted the city from its gates to the academy and nature seemed to exist hand and hand with the influence of magic that was held throughout the city. Along the coast that borders the western Almarian ocean, the dockyards were filled with sailors, fishermen, and merchants alike that bustle trade and commerce into the economy. At the epicenter of the city, it shows that it truly is a city of promise with a theater, inn, tavern, shops of every sort, and opportunities around every corner.

Philosophy

“ilMaehr'sae Ilkun'ehya”, known in the common tongue as “with knowledge and steel”, is the idea which carved the ideals and values of the Celian people. Ideals that transcend the average mind and encourage carving their paths through history with steel and the knowledge that they have gained throughout the lifetime of an elf. This is ever present within the mindset of a Celia’norian when they go through their day to day. It is common that they will begin to tackle ideas for problems not yet faced in the realm and to ease their day to day life. From a house magery operated tavern, ear cuffs that play music, mirrors that give fashion advice, handheld crossbows that blast air to stun and help detain criminals, and so much more has blossomed from this mindset. They’ve ensured the safety of their realm through the marching of steel, showing their forces to the realm and not taking no for an answer when their people are threatened by outsiders. This has developed into the average Celia’norian always at the ready to defend their home should it become necessary.

The essence of this philosophy is that the elven blessing of longevity ought to not be looked at in the same way other elven civilizations have. While the elves of times past have taken the opportunity to revel in their long lives, choosing to drink, feast, and copulate the centuries away, a Celia’norian looks upon this decadence and laziness with utter disgust. A long life is meant to be industrious, for, unlike the other races, an elf has the privilege of orchestrating, seeing through, and then enjoying great, ambitious aspirations in their lifetime. Idleness is the basest sin of any in Celia’norian society, and a subject who is not utilizing their longevity and talents for some greater purpose is a waste to themselves and their countrymen.

Everyday Life

Beneath the redwoods that tower above surrounding the seaside glades, the people of Celia’nor take on an idyllic, yet productive way of life. Store shops line the main street of Fi’andria, selling magical enchantments, alchemic concoctions, and tasty cuisine to satisfy any hungry citizen and traveler.

While Fi’andria and Celia’nor at large is well known for Arcane studies and practices, the military remains a large part of the day to day life of the citizens. While not every citizen is enlisted within the military, every citizen will raise their blades and foci to defend their home. Once the fighting is done, many return to the barracks to keep serving or find themselves at the Slumbering Scholar, one of a few taverns citizens often relax and enjoy either the carefully crafted alcohol or one of the lively performances.

For the citizens not of the military mindset, they are often found working either in magical fields or within the palace. Court life is lively with event planners, courtiers specializing in botany, painting, and performing. With a theater putting on regular performances, many find some home within the arts. If city life is not someone’s cup of tea, the villages of Starpool and Paradine each cater to a more agricultural life, whether it be sprawling vineyards or rolling fields.

Should someone wish to find employment there are many options available. Court life is always looking for new talent. The military’s doors are open to all those who wish to serve no matter the skill level. Mages can find work either within the government as sponsored mages or in private shops selling enchantments and other tools. If any of the above, the community job board is a good spot to look for available work.

The Celian Court

The Celian Court consists of the highest echelons of high elven society: those who stand above the rest in their respective skill. The elite within the courts work together to improve upon the society within Celia’nor. Their primary objective is to upkeep social standards of the principality- certifying that each member of not only the court, but each part of society strives for excellence in their work. Knowledge, poise, and amelioration of society are at the core of the values for the court.

The governing council of the Celian Court is known as the Circle of Stars. Those among the circle of stars not only work within their own domain to advance society, but also ensure that others among the Courts uphold Celia’nor’s social values. The Circle of Stars work towards maintaining the palace, the culture, and the society of the Celian Court.

Due to the core values of the Celian Court, etiquette is a primary aspect of courtier proceedings. Use of titles and addressments are expected not only within the palace, but in daily life as well. It is essential to follow court customs, including wearing one’s finest clothing to court meetings, and donning the proper accessories to show one’s rank. Those who are nobility are permitted to wear bronze circlets, whereas family heads frequently wear signet rings with their family crests upon them. It is highly frowned upon for those of non-nobility status to wear circlets of any kind, especially within a court setting. Etiquette is an essential part of maintaining social standards within Celia’nor in its entirety.

Courtship

The process of courtship typically begins from twenty-fine years and up, once one has come of an appropriate age. During courtship, the couple becomes accustomed to one another and decides if there will be an engagement, concluding with the celebration of marriage. A mal or lari may ask to initiate a courtship with one another, it is of utmost importance that a relationship is built consensually. If a member of a courting pair is of a noble standing, the permission of the head of that household much be clearly given. Furthermore, while the City of Stars accepts minor acts of public affection, such as an embrace, we expect our citizens to behave with appropriateness in mind, therefore, any public fraternization is frowned upon, especially outside of marriage. Fi'andria greatly values the nature of the matrimonial union between a pair and such acts should be kept private between husband and wife. Typical courtship practices may include giving flowers to your partner, a private stroll, or preparing a romantic dinner or picnic.

Appearances

The appearance of the Celia’nor elf is a rather strict, ancient look as common of all High-Elves due to a long history of selective marriages throughout its history of being under the umbrella of past nations. Thus, the appearance of the Celia’nor elf is a rather strong identity of appearance. A typical Celia’norian elf, often appears with a lighter tone of skin, varying from a light pale, to a marblesque pearl color of skin. Hair on the other hand, is far less demanding, with varying lighter shades present, with blonde, white, and silver being the most common, and red, orange, gray and gold being other colors. Black or brown hair is often the sign of a non-full blooded Celia’nor elf. Eyes follow suit, with colors benign far more variable with blue, violet, purple, green, gold and yellow being common colors, with brown being deeply frowned upon as a valah eye color. Height, albeit varied between 5’0 to 6’6, often ranges between the extremes rather than between, with most being over 6’0, and weighing generally between 100ibs to 260ibs, often being on the lighter end. Perfect skincare is promoted as necessary to greet the day, with personal grooming made of the utmost importance. Celia’norian elves are to be clean-shaven, their hair well-trimmed, skin clear and well bathed to be seen as appropriate in the public eye, anything less than their best is seen as a poor reflection on themselves.

Modesty

Amongst the city of stars and its’ upper echelons of society, how one displays themselves is often considered quite important. The elves of Celia’nor have an expectation of decorum for those that call the principality home. Modesty is something that is valued, but not in the traditional sense that one must always have every ounce of flesh covered. The exposing of a modicum of skin is considered quite acceptable. For example, shoulders and arms being exposed are considered acceptable in moderation. Denizens of Fi’andria have an understanding that there are differences in culture. Should one be visiting from another nation that has a different expectation of attire than that of the city, then they are to be accepted by the majority and not looked down upon. There are still some who maintain the idea that one’s skin should not be overtly exposed no matter the situation.

Casual Wear

When wearing any attire in Celia’nor, it is common that they wear the best that they can afford. This comes to a split between those that chose fashion versus what is useful for them. When one visits Fi’andria, it is common to see plenty of individuals with long flowing robes that have many layers and attract the eye with their vibrant color. Even in the most casual of robes, they still have unique elements that set them apart from everyone else and to encourage individuality. Within Celia’nor, there is a firm belief amongst many of the denizens that one’s outward expression is representative of themselves, hence with the casual attire being more free-form than that of formal attire. Long flowing robes are quite common to be seen with various neutral tones complemented by a monochrome color. Pants are quite common amongst both men and women and often accompanied by long flowing capes or sashes that adorn one’s blouse. Jewelry is common amongst most of the society members as a way to keep inconspicuous enchantments on one’s person.

Formal Wear

To many individuals in Celia’nor, formal attire is very strict when it comes to it being dictated on events as is a maintenance of the dress code provided during those times. It is seen as disrespectful to wear anything less than your best when a formal dress code is indicated as one wearing such is a sign of mutual respect towards the event planners who put time into the event and expect time to be put into how one presents themselves. Formal attire consists of clean robes, pants, or gowns, quality clothing, and care for design. The formal attire worn is often that one’s best dressing attire, where the personification of themselves in their everyday wear is amplified to acute perfection made in every detail. Finely woven capes with intricate features, pants made of fine silks that layer under a sash or belt and puff out in the perfect spots, and jewelry that has been custom-designed to go with every detail of the outfit; that is what makes formal attire stand out from everyday wear. Formal wear is where fashion truly takes on as an art form where self-expression and creativity are encouraged to be progressed. In Celia’nor, when perfection is strived for it is met and fashion is no exception.

Marriage

The marriage vows are typically spoken before the Princess, members of the council one's talonii and lliran. Vows between an engaged pair are the most significant part of such a ceremony as they declare unity and commitment to one another, a symbol of unending love. Therefore, no intimacy occurs during the ceremonial union, to allow the pair to truly focus upon solidifying their bond.

Religion

The people of Celia'nor do not have a set religion but instead folows Ivarilist's ideals.

Flora and fauna of the forests thrive and the soil is perfect for the countryside that spans across the western region of Almaris.
