Matriarch Awaiti, of the Sirame Seed, was a reverent priestess of the Aspectist Rite whose good natured being and limitless faith led her to become a beloved figure amongst the Mali’ame people, and a leader to look to in the darkest of times in their history. Alongside the Bronze Triumvirate, she led the mali of the Dominion into a golden age of Elven history, where children's laughter once again filled the forest of Malin’s folk. As Archdruid, she led several reforms, and established the first creed, beginning a renaissance of philosophy for the ‘ame people.

She would come to forge the Viilage of Siramenor, a warm hearth tucked away in the forests of Elvenesse. This placed served long as a sanctuary for the wartorn and weary wood elven people, who longed for a peaceful life after so many years of strife.

Awaiti came from nothing, and remained rather private about her linage until her death. Once, she spoke of a small fishing village on the coast as her place of birth, a place that didn’t even have a name on a map. She’d speak of how she’d sit on the docks, watching fishermen go about their business as a little girl.

History

Youth

Awaiti came from rather harsh beginnings. Far off, in some distant fishing village, she was born to a lone woman named Aoroa. Their family would move to Linandria, and soon her mother would disappear. Distraught, the young ame' was taken in and sheltered by many families, until she could fend for her own. She would come to serve many years as the Dominion's healer, nursing the sick and wounded back to health. The diminutive ‘ame climbed her way through the ranks of the Dominion, first becoming an Archdruid of the Naelurir before ascending to the throne as High Princess, all before reaching adulthood. During her time as High Princess of the Dominion, she dealt with many challenges that faced her and her people, such as the Bronze Rebellion, which threatened to shatter the nation as a whole. Ultimately though, she guided her people through these harsh days, uniting the two fractured sides together once again. What followed was a golden age for her and her peoples, an unparalleled period of prosperity and life for Mali.

Adulthood

After serving as High Princess for decades, she abdicated the throne to reconnect with her faith, which had suffered in her time as head of state. She would oversee her predecessor’s rise to the throne, Belestram of the House of Sylvaen, and retook her position as Archdruid of the Naelurir, establishing reforms to revitalize the order that had fallen low. During a pilgrimage into the wilds, Awaiti would establish the first of the Aspectist Creeds- The Emerald Way. A philosophy for approaching the beliefs and worship of the Aspects, one which placed the Aspects above the Mani, and valued willpower, fortitude, and a strong faith. This creed would mark a renaissance of Mali’ame philosophy, laying down the foundation for the Ichor Way, the Sage Way, and the path of Sanguine Fire, all creeds of their own. For this, she was named an Oracle of the Naelurir, the highest honor that could be bestowed upon a priest or priestess.

During the War against the September Prince, Awaiti was struck down, losing her right arm. She fell into a deep sleep that lasted years to come. When she awoke, her world was turned upside down. Her mind was fractured, and the father of her son had been killed. The nation she loved was falling to pieces. Confused and lost, she ran to the wilds, and was seldom seen for many years.

It would take decades of healing to return to her normal state, but she would nonetheless. The ‘ame found herself within the lands of Aegrothond. Seeing its beauty and grace inspired her to create a new home for her people, for the Mali’ame people- a people now scattered to the winds. On the white sandy shores of Elvenesse, tucked within the forests, she began building the Village of Siramenor, and served as its matriarch for many years until she stepped down, allowing others to take the reins.

Later Years

In the final years of her life, Awaiti took more of a guiding role to the mali'ame. An experienced druid, and fighter, she took on many students and taught them as best she could. Her focus fell on growing her family and tribe as well, taking on many new members for the tribe of Sirame. Her family flourished, and the once lone druidess found herself surrounded by family, a dream she had for many years.

Living such a full and tumultuous life came with consequences. The small ame' found herself plagued with pain most days, from multiple sources. Her wooden arm, with roots that anchored into her bones, was heavy, and pulled at her body. Her head, knocked around so many times in so many wars, caused her splitting headaches. Many claimed that her brain was mostly mush around this time, spotting the elder druidess raving in the streets, seeing things that no one else saw. This might've also been caused by the excessive herbs that she used to deal with the splitting pains.

During the Trials of Taynei'hiylu, the young ame remained faithful to the patron of her tribe, defending her actions to the very end. She served faithfully, completing her trial. However, one of the beacons became plagued with dark magics, and the faithful ame moved to the beacon to reclaim it. During the battle, Awaiti was penned down by several dark beings, before being struck down by a knight of massive proportions. Standing nine feet tall, the knight crashed his warhammer down upon her stomach, crippling her. She would not suffer long, until he brought it down once more upon her head, ending her life.

Like all druids, she would ascend to the Eternal Forest, welcomed by the great green dragon with open arms. Finally, she could rest.

Family

Until recent years, Awaiti was a part of the Aureon seed, taken in by them at a very young age, after her mother disappeared, and was found dead. She was proud of her tribe, and took the seed tattoo of the clan, an intricate mark of a tree, symbolizing the family. She still retains the mark on her back, despite being estranged from the seed. Her estrangement would come over a long burnout, starting with the seed's exodus from Linandria, during her rule as High Princess of the Dominion. Over the years, more added to her resentment, until she left the seed following the fall of Irrinor.

Awaiti would come to form a tribe of her own, the Sirame, which took the namesake of Irrin Sirame- the mother of all mali'ame. With her as their matron, they also revere Taynei'hiylu, the green dragon spirit of the druids, who was a prophet of the wood elves in ancient history. They take the mark of Taynei'hiylu as their tattoo, depicting a green dragon. The seed seeks to reconnect the mali'ame to their ancient traditions, and to the faith of the people. They are staunch traditionalists, and hold a deep reverence of the forest, the holy grounds for their people.

Over the years, Awaiti had come to know several partners, and by all accounts loved both men and women, but had a child with only two, Mortal King Abelas, of Caerme'onn, and the Druid Nym, of the Caerme'onn. With Abelas, they had a son, who they would come to name Artanis. And with Nym, a daughter, who they would name Irrin, after the mother of the mali'ame. She would come to be blessed by the green dragon as a baby. Awaiti's other children were adopted, just as her family had for her when she was younger. Talilyun'orrir, the eldest- a wild hunter of great strength. Mordun, a mountain of a dark elf, who could wield a broadsword the size of a surfboard if she wanted. Sonna, who would come to leave the Sirame, but still remained family in Awaiti's eyes. Aeos, who did not quite inherit his sister's great size, who is young, but wild of heart. Maru, a high elf, and great grandson of Allora, a chieftess of the Caerme'onn. At this point, her children have had children, as have her children's children. She is a great grandmother now, though only nearly two-hundred years old.

Personality

Awaiti has always been a good natured sort, kind and forgiving. When she was High Princess, juxtaposed with the stiff and calloused Bronze Triumvirate, they would call her “The Gentle Brook”. It is a quality that has led her to be well loved by those that follow her, a people tired of fighting. She is also marked by a rigid sense of duty, and selflessness. Awaiti was a person who always put the needs of her people above her own, sacrificing sleep, blood, and time when needed.

Despite her kindness she was also a terribly burdened person. At times, she truly showed how the years have worn her down, physically and mentally. Her body was marred by scarring, and her missing right arm has been replaced with a Druidic prosthetic, a constant reminder of the terrible price she paid in the war against the September Prince. At times she could be full of worry and weariness.

Another symptom of that long rest was the creation of a deep anger within her. A frustration and rage that exploded forth at times, startling those around her. Though it was just like that, an explosion. Quick and bright and violent. Though this anger pittered out in the later years of her life, replaced once again with that good-naturedness.

The Wild Faith had been a hallmark for much of Awaiti’s life. Her dedication to the Aspects was fierce and unwavering, stronger than steel. It is, perhaps, the only piece of Awaiti that has remained unbroken throughout her life. Providing strength in the darkest of times, and serving as a beacon towards brighter days. There is nothing on this earth that could have swayed her from the Aspects, and the path she walked as a priestess, and Oracle of the elnarnsae’ame.

The diminutive ‘ame however, saw that something was missing from the Aspectist faith. A deeper understanding and reason was needed for the Mali’ame to follow the Aspects. During a pilgrimage into the wilds, she poured her understanding and deeper thoughts into the first of the creeds- The Emerald Way. It is a path that values willpower, determination, fortitude, and reverence to the Aspects. Even in the final days of her life, she still staunchly followed the Emerald Way, and passed its teachings onto others.

  • Standing at 5’2, Awaiti’s height is sometimes likened to that of a Halfling, as she is considered on the shorter side for a Wood Elf. Her dark skin tone is sometimes likened to that of a Dark Elf even.
  • Her right arm is a Druidic prosthetic grown from Itinwood, which is a type of real ironwood! It is extremely dense, but that also makes it very heavy. It has been used to stop blades on more than one occasion!
