Successor: Utak Ireheart
Born: 1598 in Arcadia

Atandt Irongrinder was the second Under-King of the Under-Realms of Urguan and is the youngest son of Dwarven hero, Zahrer Irongrinder. After an election, he would ascend to the throne in the year 1718. During his tenure as the Under-King, he would bring the Under-Realms of Urguan out of the isolationist state that they were previously in. At the end of his reign, he would lead the dwarves in a victory in the Three-Month War. After his father decided to go on pilgrimage, Atandt would abdicate the throne and join him on his journey.

Early life

Atandt Irongrinder was first seen in public in Axios after his father, Zahrer Irongrinder, became the Grand King. He would become a kingsguard along with Charles “The Bald” and Kruggik Grandaxe. Atandt would receive training in combat under the famous fighter and Captain of the kingsguard, Charles “The Bald”. He saw little action or fighting in this position outside of his training until a relative of his blew himself up in a meeting between Zahrer and the Holy Orenian Emperor. All of the dwarves asides his relative ended up with little to no wounds from this act. Later, during the hostilities between the Grand Kingdom and the Frostbeard rebels, Atandt would end up wounded protecting Zahrer and his older brother Frerir and would spend most of his time in Axios recovering in the Irongrinder citadel, Arcadia. In Atlas, most of his time was spent studying in the temple of Az’Adar and the republic of Holm.

The Duel

In 1679, the Dominion of Malin pulled out of the Elder Alliance and this would infuriate Atandt. He along with a group of other dwarves walked into the capital of the Dominion unsearched and demanded an audience with the Elvenking Abelas Caerme'onn. After it was clear that Abelas intended on staying out of the pact, Atandt would see this as him breaking his honor and challenged him to an honor duel. He would defeat the Elvenking quickly and would chop his head off before leaving the city.

Reign

Atandt served as the Grand Marshal to the Under-King Fimlin Grandaxe. After Fimlin’s abdication, Atandt was nominated by his clan to be a candidate for the throne. He campaigned on making the Under-Realms a great nation again and bringing them out of isolation. He ended up winning the election by one vote. His first few years on the throne would be focused on building up alliances and treaties with nations around him. He would order the Foreman General to begin building up and fortifying the lands of the nation. The Holy Orenian Empire ended up breaking their treaty with Urguan and had a vassal in the recognized lands of Urguan. Atandt and his diplomats would visit the Emperor but received little to no word communication. The Under-King would later be informed by his diplomats that the Empire had no intention of removing their vassal from the dwarven lands causing Atandt and the Under-Realms of Urguan to declare war on the Holy Orenian Empire. The dwarven forces would win several skirmishes in the war and only lost one. For the vast majority of the war, Urguan would control travel within Orenian lands. After the abdication of the Emperor, Atandt and the Urguanite forces had the gates of Helena opened for them and marched into the city taking control. He would recognize Adrian de Sarkozy as the Emperor and signed a treaty ending the Three-Month War with him before pulling all forces back to the dwarven lands. Shortly after the end of the war, Zahrer Irongrinder would go on pilgrimage and Atandt would abdicate to join him.
