Anethra Uradir is an elf of storied history and controversy, known as an influential leader and councilmember of The Diarchy of Haelun'or, the former de-facto leader and revivalist of The Uradir Talonii, and a subject of intense scrutiny and conspiracy.

With a murky history and an intense desire to upkeep a very strict and specific public personality and image, much of who Anethra actually is, and has been, is muddled and enshrouded in shadow and mystery. Such, on multiple occasions, had nearly lead to her death and exile.

History

Early Life

Anethra was raised to a Gwynaeth and Moederai Uradir in Vailor, cousins to the infamous Kalenz. First of their line, and first of the fourth Uradir generation, Anethra had grand expectations. While always made second to her cousins, Anethra had been raised a child of cattle. For marriage and prestige, Anethra was to bind Uradir to another family- at the time, Elibar'acal, which had spawned a very young hatred for the opposing bloodline. Upon the venture to Axios, both Gwyneth and Moederai had vanished; while uninterested in any of her siblings who had been long lost, the elf simply lived stuck within books. She often spent her younger years writing poetry and novels while the elf spiraled into a gloom in which would become iconic to her character. Largely, Anethra was uninvolved and disappeared for the majority of Atlas' events, simply moving along with the majority of Haelun'or. During Haelun'or's Revival toward the end of the time spent upon the continent, the elf was a quiet, yet early supporter of the new Sohaer Dimaethor Elervathar.

Before Laurirship

Anethra before her Laurirship was the only other confirmed-surviving Uradir beside her cousin Silir and her once-removed cousin Renarion. After an attempted coup by Renarion which had resulted in his death, Silir had called for any surviving Uradir to aide in rebuilding a broken and unbuilt family. The two of them sparingly agreed on anything but politic- and often clashed because of so. Anethra often found herself enthralled within the dregs of society, the elf often could be seen with those suspicious and undesirable; often suspected of impurity. In that time, the elf continued to write her poetry and novels, of which she found great success to The Eternal Library which many of her works still are hosted today. Anethra was the target of attempted paladin-based disconnection thrice, of which none bore any effect. Such was of great disrespect to her, and began a distrust and distaste for holy-magics and those who had practiced them. Something which would effect some of her policymaking later in life. Despite the controversy and suspicion, Anethra was eventually deemed simply an elf wracked with anxiety and depression, of which she sought treatment for. The Okarir'maehr, Nelgauth Maehr'tehral, and her favoured medicus Dele Seregon, aided in her treatment by prescription of Javen's Root and other botanicals which would increase her appetite and encourage sleep. After a brief stint of abusing such medication, Anethra would reluctantly find herself in a much more healthy lifestyle. Despite this, she never escaped a lithe and skinny form of unhealthy figure.

Political Prime

WIP

Fall from Grace

Anethra had, during the era of the Azorella Reformation (1771 FA), been implicated in a plot which saw in the last few years prior, the assassination of Maheral Azorella Elibar'acal. Given her shadowy and seclusive nature, she was in the weeks leading to the event found often challenging Azorella with her rulings placed upon her family; such as The Telperion Controversy, in which it was found unlawful by Maheral's decree that Muriel Uradir could not marry a cousin-in-law, Evelon Telperion given what would both extinct the bloodline and by her word, be incestuous. With the rapidly rising tensions with a council who had in near-full disagreed with the Maheral, the method of her assassination was quick, and brutal; albeit made up partially of the council in the event, many were missing. Anethra was one of these missing councillors, supposedly sleeping upon her prescribed Javen's Root as the chaos unfolded within the city. The masses at large of greatly mortified Mali'thill, witnessing the assassination, stormed The Citadel and made trial. Anethra was made to stand trial, even advised by peer Theris Elibar'acal to take guilt and walk upon the path to purity. Refusing so, Anethra never formally stood trial, but still withheld great scrutiny as she her pride did get the best of her. Still widely in support of The Diarchy which had fallen, and in great opposition to the new government, The Elf found herself in a much more hostile and unwelcoming Haelun'or. While campaigning foolishly twice for Sohaer afterward, she would lose two runs by thin margins against Nelgauth Maehr'tehral and Eredael Rhaener. During debate with the latter, Anethra had been accused of slaying the Maheral herself; which brought her to a flurry of blind insults and anger toward the younger candidate, which likely had cost her election. Anethra would see minor upticks however in this time, even with her influence severely diminished she would still find herself within the court as an illusive shadow whos words were prized, but scarcely trusted. In trust and respect of Maheral Ikur Sullas, who had understood her usefulness, granted her position of Maelunir; which would rapidly change The Lady Uradir's opinion of the new Maheral. Often found in his circle, it was rumoured Anethra in this time became Sulii'ceru to the new Maheral, servicing as a well trusted informant on what was still a greatly divided city. Her Talonnii's influence would yet regain traction with the rising prime of Silvyr Uradir and Celiasil Uradir, whom both would find great success and fame within their new positions; not to mention the young Muriel Uradir, who had been interim Sohaer and deeply involved within the council even long past so. While Uradir thrived, Anethra slowly stagnated and fell back to a recluse; in her element, yet, without the influence that she did indeed shamefully crave. As her cousins power waned as they moved on with their lives, it was clear Anethra's time within the sun had long been over. After a long period of decline and stagnation in the new Haelun'orian Republic, Sohaer Eredael Rhaener lead a coup oncemore which would see a deeply involved Anethra; far more visible than before, it was clear the elf had long since lost her touch. With the recognition of a government returned to a constitution in draft, Anethra formally resigned from her positions and saw the Republic turn into a brief Diarchy, before the Sohaerate of Haelun'or formed in 1809 FA (13 SA). In this interim time of the Diarchy, Anethra had aswell submitted herself to no longer be Laurir of Uradir; granting the position unto her youngest cousin Silvyr Uradir. The elf shortly left Haelun'or at large afterward, and has scarcely been seen since.

Personality

Anethra is regarded as an extremely secluded and withdrawn individual obsessed with upkeep of public image and familial respect. One who commands and leads from shadows, Anethra was by far the most unsuccessful in inspiring and swaying people, particularly those at large; most often in her element in backrooms and private meets. With this, despite public image and appearance, the elf was very much known to have a general distaste for any and all interacting with her and was somewhat of a shut-in wherever she could be. The elf is known for having a characteristically lithe and gaunt figure, and speaking in a dull tone which indicated little enthusiasm. There was always an odd perfectionism to her face, one which she very much made known by accentuating unnaturally symmetry and consistent colour throughout her face, eyes, and hair. The elf was known to prize purity, yet in a fashion much different from the standard republican Mali'thill. Anethra regarded highelves as superior to all, commonly so, yet cursed with an inherent urge to betray which compelled them to drag one another down. This was most often displayed, or rather undisplayed, in her dealings as an extremely influential Okarir of Haelun'or, yet remaining near-always silent during council meets and trials. On and off, the elf was characteristically depressive and anxious, known for an extreme paranoia which had her stricken and nearly deemed mentally unfit for leading at times. On and off would the elf enter extremely high periods of thriving confidence and pride, and very long and low periods of helplessness and nihilism. Despite all, she is known to have an intense love and compassion for not only Haelun'or, but her family and friends; the few that she keeps.

Relationships

Partners & Children

Kinahen Athrilum: One of Anethra's many potential-suitors, however, the only one which had seemed to genuinely capture her interest. Their time was shortlived as The Silver Revolution had caused Kinahen to flee The Silver State with a mutual friend Evelon Telperion and Alaion Miravaris. Though much of the two's interactions were hidden from public eye, it seemed to forever sober Lady Uradir and emboldened her already strong isolationism.

Uradir Bloodline

Ithia Uradir: Nuala's youngest daughter deemed Anethra's own by adoption, Ithia was Anethra's version of an elf free and wild. Anethra would come in and out of Ithia's life with the goal of checking up upon her and keeping her at arms distance, at any point offering assistance and help wherever necessary.

Celiasil Uradir: A cousin to Anethra regarded as brother, Celiasil is one of the few Uradirs who remain in Anethra's good regard. The only one to survive her scrutiny, Anethra saw immense potential in the young Celiasil and was often most enthralled in his talents and abilities and supported him in his endeavours. Even with his departure from Haelun'or, and deemed-impurity by marrying a wood elf Miven Careme'onn, Anethra had particularly spoiled Celiasil's children with her and made splendid friends with his wife Miven, whom still maintains good relations with him today even after Celiasil's supposed death.

Muriel Uradir: A cousin to Anethra regarded as brother, Muriel was one who frequently frustrated The Lady Uradir by his decisionmaking. Not by fault of his own, Anethra had sought to live vicariously through the younger elf- which had caused a minor divide, even if the two had always stayed closely together. Even when Muriel had diverged and succeeded Anethra in Haelun'or's Leadership, she still supported and held respect for him, as he did, her.

Silvyr Uradir: A cousin of Anethra, regarded as brother, who aswell lost her respect later in life. Early and throughout her Laurirship, Silvyr supported her and the family by boosting the image of himself and Uradir. However, after some time, his ego became apparent and he somewhat became a threat to Anethra; one who would wish to undermine her which brought her intense worry, particularly upon her successor of which her ideal choice was unwilling to take so. With a heavy heart and a surrender of pride, she abdicated Laurirship to Silvyr in her writing A Change of Seasons. Soonafter did the family languish and fall to disrepair, and eventually become as lifeless as Anethra had one found it. Something which has forever enbittered her, and caused her to have a deep remorse and resentment for undying trust and love to her family.

Talar'siol Uradir: The late Talar'siol Uradir was an elf which often frustrated Anethra, as one who was respected for his insatiable sense of honor and duty; yet a complete lack of self preservation and logical thought. Talar'siol tantalized Anethra as a potential Heir to the family, yet disappointed her in his craving of death, which he had soon met not long after he came after to prominence. She supported him in any case, unwilling to ever let one to have a poor last impression of her.

Nuala'ata (nee Uradir): A woman who had initially for some time had Anethra's respect, but after some time had tarnished so with a controversial reputation and a repeated assurance of mental instability; something which brought much anxiety to the already riddled Anethra. After some time she was expelled from the family forcibly, her name stripped from her by Anethra and the subsequent Laurir.

Friends & Allies

Earnest: A subtle acquaintance of The Uradir, Earnest had earned Anethra's friendship and good will after twice providing small tokens of appreciation; once glasses, once a memento in honor of loss, to The Uradir.

Peter Baldwin d'Arkent: A friend within the ISA, as General, who had thrown a celebratory ball at Sunholdt where she had met most of The Imperial Family and their descendants. Peter often came to Anethra regarding issues both mundane and magical, which had brought them both immense wealth and power.

Dele Seregon: A longtime confidant of Anethra, Dele served as Anethra's pharmacist and close friend. She often served to embolden and rationalize the troubled Uradir's thoughts, encouraging her when she needed and advising her when she had run a bit too far. A solid ally, Uradir and Seregon would forever have a mutual friendship with one another with the two Laurir's good friendship.

Ikur Sullas: For some time a rival to Anethra and an antagonist after The Silver Revolution, yet with repeated attempt at good relations did Ikur break Anethra's spirit into understanding. Eventually, a mutual appreciation and respect for what one another do and the purpose they serve. Ikur often sought Anethra for issues which were beyond or below his capacity to solve, allowing her to do so; rumoured, Sulii'ceru as Anethra played a very quiet role, yet seemingly was always in Ikur's court and by his side- despite being his Maelunir. A phenomenon often occuring known as "An Ikur Moment" would happen in which he would mysteriously appear within Anethra's basement, to neither of their understanding.
