Prince Amaesil Vuln’miruel of the House of Vuln’miruel, often called the Young Fox, was a elven Prince of Ebonwood and the Prince-Heir of Elvendom. After serving as Lord Commander and Lord Exarch, he was named the heir to the throne by High Prince Evar’tir Oranor in 37 SA. In 60 SA, he formally resigned from his position. Five years later, he was named a Prince of Ebonwood by Minuvas Melphestaus of Ebonwood. He is known for founding the Wardens, a knighthood of elven warriors in service to Amaethon, and the Children of the Stag, a Templaric priesthood where he served as a warrior-prince throughout his tenure. He wielded the elven longsword Amaelaurir, a Xannic-infused weapon forged from Lunarite. His steed was a large, woodland stag known as Estelavern.

Amaesil was a druid and a Templar of Malchediael. He was known for his bravery, recklessness, and courage in the face of dangerous threats. He fought and nearly perished to many specters, monsters, and descendents.

Biography

Early Life

Amaesil was born on the 6th of the Snow’s Maiden, 1777 FA. He was given the birthname Onas by his parents and was raised by them until the age of seven. In 1784, both of his parents took their own lives in the woodlands just outside of Siramenor. No reason was ever given.

Amaesil was adopted by Sonna Vuln’miruel. At 18 years old, Amaesil began to train in martial arts under the tutelage of Celiasil. Amaesil was admitted into the Oathblades, but he soon resigned after being accused by Cullas Sylvaeri and Olórin Telemnar of treason. He was acquitted by Evar'tir. This led to him pursuing druidism under Eir’thall and the Father Circle. He was attuned and named the Oak Druid. He later married his first wife, Arle Sirame, and had one daughter: Mavis Vuln’miruel. Arle vanished for many years, eventually leading a separation.

Wardens and Wartime

During the First Tribute War of Krugmar and War of Three Fronts, Amaesil created the Wardens to support the Sentinels of Elvenesse who were led by Aesilnoth Tundrak. The Wardens became incredibly reliable during and after the war. The Wardens and Emerald Guard signed the Fellowship of Crown and Warden in 15 SA to allow the Wardens autonomy as an auxiliary military unit within the city. These accords were signed by Amaesil and Celiasil and reaffirmed in 22 SA by Amaesil and Evar’tir.

During the High Prince Election of 21 SA, Amaesil requested a nomination after vocal support from his peers. During the public council vote, Amaesil decried the former council after it was revealed they had skinned a former wood elf to appease the reparations of the First Tribute War. At the advice of Celiasil, Amaesil calmed the rapidly growing mob of elves. At the conclusion of this conflict, a massive schism — led by former councilor Miven Caerme'onn — fractured Elvenesse and led to the formation of the Vale of Nevaehlen. In an attempt to save the fallen nation, Amaesil and Evar’tir formed an alliance to get Evar’tir appointed to the position of High Prince by High Prince Fëanor Sylvaeri. They were successful, and Amaesil was soon designated Lord Commander of Elvenesse. He led the army for a decade — including through the Second Tribute War and the Marshlander Fabrication of Sutica — before transitioning to Lord Exarch.

In 30 SA, Amaesil faced the Loyal Hound, a powerful and armored specter, in single combat. He lost, but he came the closest to defeating the creature single-handedly. Amaesil was a key figure in ending the Puerokar Rebellion in 36 SA led by Pancho Puerokar and Tahlia ap Tahorran. Amaesil was named Prince-Heir in the aftermath of this civil dispute. Shortly after, he united with Visenya Sylvaeri and had his second daughter, Yulnayl Vuln’miruel, in 39 SA.

Prince of Elvendom and Ebonwood

Amaesil began his tenure as Prince-Heir by acting as a buffer between High Prince Evar'tir Oranor and the citizens of Elvenesse. In 39 SA, Amaesil and Evar'tir were visited by Archdrakaar Azdromoth and demanded to join his sphere of influence. The two denied him, and a declaration of calamity was given by the dragonlord. The two princes called the banners of Almaris to their aid and began preparations for an attack on Amaethea by Azdromoth.

During the Raze of Amaethea in 47 SA, Amaesil commanded the defense of the city. Alongside the Targoth of Krugmar, he led the opening cavalry charge across the city bridge at the start of the battle. His companions — consisting of Ardreth Vuln'miruel, Galan Brylynn, and Sevrel Valin’dar — worked together to sound the retreat bell, evacuate citizens, slay Azdrazi, and support Galan in defeating Xigier the Wyvern with a boom-steel spear. In the aftermath of the battle, Amaesil helped establish the refugee town of Hogwash. The new settlement was placed in the control of John the Adunian and renamed Cartref Môr in 51 SA. Amaesil then helped design the new elven city of Caras y Tennallar. On the 6th of Malin's Welcome, 54 SA, Amaesil and Visenya Sylvaeri were officially married by High Priestess Medli Oranor in the shadow of the newly-constructed city. Soon after, he left Elvendom and Visenya to begin teaching the Wild Faith and Templarism across the realm.

Five years after Amaesil's departure from Elvendom, he was granted the title of Prince within the realm of Ebonwood. In 69 SA, he aided in the protection of Sohaer Ayliana Valwynn during the transition of power and authority to Princess Ivarielle I. After losing the Haelun'orian Civil War, Amaesil departed from Ebonwood and came to resettle in Celia'nor. On the 12th of the Sun's Smile, 72 SA, Amaesil returned to Ebonwood to declare the realm disbanded to save them from growing hostilities from other elves in the wake of Minuvas Melphestaus' attempted assassination.

Departure from Almaris

Amaesil vanished from the realm of Almaris shortly after establishing the Temple of Courage in Celia'nor. All that had been left behind was his signature longsword and a short letter. The message informed the realm that he had departed upon his vessel, the Foxhole, and headed for the lands beyond the Twilight Sea. Accompanying him on this journey was Ayliana, his elven wife, and Mavis, his daughter.
