Agnethe Currencies

Before year 12 S.A. The Agnethe People do not have any form of currencies as they trade based on a barter system. Since the growth of the Sutherland Trading Company from the 26th year of the Second Age, currencies mostly in the form of fiat money pegged with the Almaris Minae until the establishment of the Jarldom of Dùnrath where the first free-floating Agnethe currency with its exchange rate based on the market's supply and demand is established.

Agnethe Notaichean
Agnethe Pounds (Agnesa: Ùnanach Notaichean) is a currency, commonly referred as the Agnethe Notaichean, issued by the Sutherland Trading Company as a form of internal currency of the company. Although the people in public are able to purchase this currency, the Notaichean mostly stayed internal. The exchange rate of the Agnethe Notaichean has been strongly pegged with the Almaris Minae at a rate if 1 Mina = 100 Notaichean. Its value is backed by the Foreign Exchange Reserve of the Sutherland Trading Company, later the Sutherland Corporation. On year 41 of the Second Age, the Sutherland Corporation announce the discontinuation of the Agnethe Notaichean, replacing it with the Agnethe Deàrachean.

Agnethe Deàrachean
Agnethe Shinies (Agnesa: Ùnanach Deàrachean) is a currency, commonly referred as the Agnethe Deàrachean, or the Rathonian Deàrachean, issued by the Bank of Sutherland as the official currency of the Jarldom of Dùnrath. The currency follows the flexible exchange rate regime and is widely accepted as legal tender in the Jarldom of Dùnrath. In contrast with the old Agnethe Notaichean, all Deàrachean physical currencies are coins and there is no circulating banknotes for this currency.
