Criminal Report 07 is a document written by Adler after The Vladan Trial. It outlines the behavior of Marshal Vladan Valic towards Adler, the Steward of Belvitz, leading up to the eventual trial that left the once-marshal dead in the streets of Belvitz. The following is a copied from the report that was written by Adler.

The Report

Marshal Vladan Valic of the Duchy of Adria.

Human.

Assault, Murder, Attempted Murder, Treason.

DEAD - Wounds, 15th of the Grand Harvest, 1679.

Description: Blonde, beard, pale skin, turquoise eyes.

Prior to settling in Belvitz, I traveled to the town to view properties. Upon arrival, I was confronted by Vladan Valic, and Pandir. They tried recruiting me to the guard, and had me duel Pandir. During this duel, I heard Vladan discussing with another individual in the crowd about how he suspected me of being a cultist for the September Prince and claimed that he would kill me after the duel.

Therefore, after beating Pandir, I drew my sword and held it to his neck. He broke free mid-discussion, and made my [sic] escape using a boat on the river.

The following Saint's Day, I returned and gained diplomatic immunity through Maer Red's connection through Duke John. Despite this, Vladan set the tone for future events and acted hostile to me, ignoring the Duke's orders.

He continued to do this for the next day.

Two days later, a church individual named Ernst was equiring [sic] about about a Kha that I knew, who was a previous employer of mine. The individual attempted to murder me for refusing to provide information, though I was able to apprehend him. When the man was apprehended, he begged for mercy. I allowed the man to live. Vladan then approached, and informed the individual that if he was attacking anyone else other than me he'd be hung for attempted murder, however, since it was in fact me, he'd be forgiven.

Multiple individuals witnessed this: Kal'rug (Goblin), Amphion (Human), and a man named Theodosius (Human), who will be referenced in Adrian Criminal Report 08.

This was blatant negligence of his role as Marshal of Adria, and was clearly in spite of me.

The next scenario that occurred was when the Marshal started picking a fight with me in the tavern for no apparent reason; throwing petty insults towards me and my status in Adria, before encouraging another guard (Joseph), to join him in 'teaching me a lesson'. Despite my innocence, Joseph was 'just following orders', and has since admitted that he knew that I did not do anything wrong.

I defused the situation by simply not stooping to his level and exiting, as I believed he was simply trying to incriminate me.

Plenty of individuals witnessed this, including: Bruce Roger (Tavern owner, Human), and Caulder Marsk (Human).

The Vladan Trial

The final situation occurred when the Marshal was being held accountable for his actions in court, within the church. Before recess was called, Vladan had an outburst, demanding that people either side with him, or me, and they choose their side now.

After recess was called, everyone left the Church and stood at the front. Folks began crowding around me, taking it in turns to ask me questions and show their support. Whilst Antanios Rutledge, a guard who testified to Vladan murdering the Speaker of the Alderman, spoke to me about his opinions on Vladan, the Marshal approached, and began kicking off.

He was ranting, and during this I noticed one of his associates, Ser Alexander (The 'Carrot Knight') had began moving closer towards me, seemingly positioning himself for something; else he'd be standing next to Vladan.

Mid-conversation, and individual in black leather apparel punched me in the face. Whilst I was recovering from this unexpected attack ... Ser Alexander grabbed me, holding a knife to my throat. He held me hostage whilst Vladan addressed the Duke, and ranted about how he had bled for Adria, yet the Order and its people turned on him in the end.

During the rant, I managed to break free from Ser Alexander's hold. Vladan did not care for the fact that my men from other cities would track him down and murder him, or that an associate of mine was instructed to release all the testimonies and evidence against Vladan to the public if I was killed. It was evident that not only had he given up, but he was prepared to turn on the Duchy to see me murdered.

He charged the Duke, and a fight broke out. All of Vladan's supporters were killed. Ser Alexander was shown mercy by Duke John.

Vladan spoke to the Duke as he bled out and died from his wounds.

Plenty of individuals witnessed this, as it was a major event at the time in Belvitz, and Adria.

Vladan's body was carried by myself to the Church, where he was left to be dealt with in preparation for his eventual funeral.
