Biography

Early Life

Adeline Johanna Alstion was born in 1906 at the Palace of Ardor on the morning of the 7th of Sun's Smile to the Prince James Alstion and his wife, Lady Edith of Reinmar. She was born a mere ten minutes after her twin brother, Prince Henry Charles, and was named after Blessed Adeline, Empress consort of Oren, and her maternal grandmother, Johanna Claudia, Duchess of Reinmar. Her grandfather, Charles I, King of Aaun reunited the United Kingdom of Aaun after the fall of the Harvest Confederacy nearly a decade prior to her birth, and thus was raised in amidst a lavish lifestyle afforded to the House of Alstion as the ruling family of the kingdom since its restoration. Since birth, Adeline had been remarked as an outgoing child, with disregard to the royal formalities associated with her title. This could be seen often in the form of disobeying her mother, to which she was remarked to be a complete replica of her grandmother, Queen Eleanor of Provins. Adeline and Henry when they were younger were often never seen without eachother. When Henry was out of the Palace, Adeline was glued to his side.

Adeline became acquainted with the then-Princess Mariya Barbanov and Antoily Godonuv as a child. The three of them would travel about quite frequently together until Adeline had an attempt made on her life. This incident had Adeline confined to the palace of Ardor, and when she did leave, a guard was assigned to her. Jan Ivanovich, Count of Vaska, was summoned to the court by the Lady of Alba, Edith of Reinmar, and tasked with attending to the young princess's protection. Jan quickly took Adeline as his Squire as soon as she was old enough, and she quickly learned how to defend herself. Serving underneath the young Count, Adeline's bravery only became more prevalent, and this was shown when She first met Prince Aleksandr of Haense, Saving his life from an assassin within Veletz. Growing up within the Court, Queen Eleanor ensured that the Twins' studies were strict and well-rounded, though one thing differed between the two of them: Adeline's studies were much harsher. Adeline learned to perfect her curtsey by age six and memorized how to address each noble lord within the realm. She tried her hardest to be nothing less than perfect, and to Eleanor, anything less was a failure. Adeline grew up in Henry's shadow, and the only way she was able to shine outside of it was by becoming acquainted with every noble of each respective Kingdom, which she attempted to do, eventually becoming Acquainted with the Princess Of Balian and The Princes and Princess of Haense. When Adeline turned thirteen, A war broke out within the Kingdom of Aaun. Adeline's uncle, Sigismund Varoche, accused Heinrich Sarkozic of being a heretic and quickly declared himself The rightful Duke of Adria. James Leopold remained within the city of Vienne, formulating war plans with her Grandfather, while Adeline and her two younger siblings were sent off to Edith's Family within Reinmar. Sigismund was eventually captured along with his eldest son and executed, leaving Adeline's Aunt a Widow.

Warding in Haense

With Adeline moving into Haense, King Georg gave her rooms within the ward corridor and set up her wardship underneath the then Chamberlain of the courts. As a ward of the Chamberlain, Adeline learned how to run a court and made many friends within Karosgrad, becoming incredibly close with Prince Stefan Edvard. Adeline's friendship with Mariya and Antoily slowly grew distant during the war; she avoided Mariya due to the Princess's opinions regarding the Duchy of Adria. Eventually, the Duke of Adria, Heinrich, was forced into a trial depicting his sentence for his crimes against The church. When it came out that he was to be executed, conflict quickly broke out within the church. Along with the Princess Royal of Haense, Adeline helped safely guide the Women and Children out of the church.

When Adeline eventually turned sixteen, a new Duke of Adria was elected, and it quickly came out that Adeline's friend Mariya had been in contact with him. This was one of the Princess's first interactions with death when she witnessed one of her closest friends beheaded as a traitor in front of her. Her years after this only worsened, Eventually losing Antoily in one of the battles and, soon after, Her beloved Grandfather, whom she was still extremely close with.

As Princess Royal

Within the Year of 1923, Adeline was quickly summoned home from her wardship as her Grandfather's health rapidly declined, it was stated the then young woman never left his side until he eventually had passed on. With the Death of Charles, Adelines Father, James Leopold had finally assumed the throne of Aaun and had endowed Adeline with the title of Princess Royal, the first princess to be awarded the title, as it was not in use during the reign of King Charles.

Debut into Society

Even though by her eighteenth birthday she was already bethrothed to the Prince Alexio's of Balian, Adeline would debut in the sixth Haenseni Lifstala at the age of nineteen, Adeline was 2nd to debut before the Queen, Grand Princess, Princess Royal and Grand Lord. Adeline's Gown was made of red silks with gold chains that cascaded down her figure with a large purple cape that dragged behind her. The Princess's debut was remarked as one fit of her familial origin, though the most noteworthy piece of her debut was the laurel like tiara that rested on her head.

However, despite her wildly successful debut into Haeseni society, Her hope of finding a different match here was quickly ruined when someone eavesdropped on the Princess Royals private conversation with her confidante. It is stated that she trashed her bethrothed's unwillingness to meet with her and instead wished for another husband other than him. Immediately after this, in hopes of saving her reputation Adeline pulled out of the lifstala soon after and remained within Aaun.

Her Marriage

By the time Adeline was twenty-six, she was still unwed and desperate for a way to leave Aaun for a short while after her brother passed away. Often the Princess Royal would visit the Prince Alexios within Balian and eventually the two became close friends, bonding over their grief for her brother and his niece. In a very quick and short time, Adeline and Alexios decided to get married, though the wedding from her side was more so out of convenience when her fathers health began to rapidly decline. The princess wanted her father to be able to walk her down the aisle before he passed. Though soon after their Honeymoon, Adeline returned to Aaun and Alexio's returned to Balian. Adeline remained in contact with her husband, though wished to remain within her home kingdom where she was near her family and close friends. A year after her wedding, Adeline gave birth to her first son, a child baring fair skin and resembled her in more ways than that of her husband, the two decided to christen him with the name Carlos Alexander, after her father-in-law. Soon after Adeline fell into heavy depression and sent the infant to live with Her husband, Alexios within Balian. Eventually Adeline recovered from her depression with the help of a close friend, though as soon as she did she was with child again. This time, instead of retreating to her quarters, Adeline relied on the support of Julietta Haverlock and eventually she gave birth to her only daughter, who too bore her features. Adeline named the young girl in honor of her father, just as Alexios did with their first son. The young girl remained with Adeline in Aaun, and many years down the line Adeline had two more sons, who too remained within Aaun.

The Aevos Coalition War

After Her nephew was Murdered on the eve of his 19th nameday, Adeline was once again catapulted into the spotlight of succession. However, fate intervened when her brother's ascension to the throne shattered her place in the line of succession. Despite this, Adeline remained steadfast and her brother named her his chosen heir.

As conflict engulfed her nation once again, Adeline found herself standing opposed to friendships she had formed within her adolescent years. Unlike the Adrian rebellion, where she openly opposed her childhood friends, Adeline chose a different path this time. She opted for restraint, refraining from openly speaking against them. This decision, while driven by a sense of duty and a desire to uphold unity within her nation, came at a cost. Adeline's stance of neutrality in the face of adversity stirred resentment and animosity among those within Aaun who viewed her perceived silence as betrayal.

Her Disappearance

As Adeline's disappointment with her brother's unwavering devotion to the canonist church to which she deemed a corrupt, she found herself increasingly estranged from him. Her convictions clashed with his allegiance, leading her to question her place within the realm they once shared. Eventually, Adeline made the bold choice to sever ties with Aaun entirely. Boarding a ship, she embarked on a voyage into the unknown, leaving behind her beloved homeland and, with a heavy heart, her daughter Sophia in the care of a trusted confidante.
